Fastboot/recovery on Bay Trail - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!
Is there any way to put Bay Trail based device into recovery/fastboot using USB keyboard?
My device (Chuwi V99i) has just 2 physical buttons: power and vol- (pinhole under the camera).
Current observations:
If I'll start device while vol- is pressed, then it was entering non-functioning fastboot mode i.e. device was seen by fastboot utility but any command failing instantly.
If I'll start device while vol+ on usb keyboard is pressed, then it was booting safe mode.
If I'll issue "adb reboot bootloader" then device was entering fully functioning droidboot.
If I'll issue "adb reboot recovery" then device was entering non-functioning recovery ("No Command" screen without any reaction to vol- or power button).
I was also able to reboot from droidboot/recovery using ctrl+alt+del on usb-keyboard.
If you can help me, I would really appreciate that!
P.S. I'm advised to post on this forum by XDA Assist.

[Q] OT107 - Enter fastboot or recovery on rooted device

I got a tablet device (Omega OT107) I've rooted it using
Code:
ro.kernel.qemu
method.
Next I'm triying to flash Custom Recovery and my problems started here.
What I've tried:
1.
Code:
flash_image recovery
- no success process of flashing never ends
2. Install bootmenu to /data/bootmenu
3. Installed 2 different 2Init's
None of this worked or even had an impact on how device works (it always boots in android correctly).
I've tried to boot it to fastboot mode to flash recovery from there but there is a problem that I have.
Volume(up or down) + Power buttons starts device to Android not to bootloader (I've read you need to remove and reinsert battery to make it work, but device has a build in batery and needs to be taken apart to remove it so I did not tryed it)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
- boots to what I think is a bootloader (screen is black(no light is comming out of it)) when connected to Windows PC it is seen as Android Bootloader Interface (Android-SDK driver).
Code:
fastboot devices
does not discover any devices, clicking volume or power button does nothing.
Code:
adb reboot recovery
- boots devices it what seems to be useless recovery mode. At start there is a standing android dude with fireball on his chest, and imidietly changes to a lying position with his chest oppened and an exclamation mark comming out of it (I've red it is ok and I need to press Volume(down/up) + Power buttons to open recovery menu but it does not happen).
My question is:
Is it normal to some devices bootloader to look like mine? How to make it discoverable to fastboot?
I had this issue and I fixed with "press all the buttons!" and suddenly I sow recovery menu...to factory reset. if it doesn't work repeat with rebooting with pin
Does someone knows a way how to hard reset this thing?? ^^
about firmware
Any idea where find the firmware for this tablet?
Mine is now freeze on recovery logo
hard reset OT107
1.Turn off our tablet.
2 We press the MENU button at the same time + POWER HOUSE click and hold
3.Wait until the Android image.
4.Then VOL + button and the POWER and appears to us to Recovery Mode
5.Navigation is Vol-i + and confirmed by pressing POWER.

[Q] GTab Bricked APX Mode

I was going to try one of the new jelly bean roms for my GTab. It required running a prep file to change format. Here is where I am now:
I can connect to Win7 PC in apx mode (I assume it is connected propoerly it shows up in device manager as "NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices"
When I run NVFlash from the cmd window it appears to go through but I can't boot into clockworkmod recovery (Vol + and Pwr) nor when I hold down either the power button or try to at least see the birds prior to going back into apx mode by holding down Vol - and pwr. Nothing shows on the screen. The only time I see anything on the screen is when I go into apx mode while connected to the PC. If I run NVFlash the screen shows one line at the top "Entering NVFlash recovery mode. Other than that don't get anything.
I did open up the device and press the reset. Still have not been able to get the device to do anything but allow me to connect to PC in apx mode.
Any help would be appreciated.

Go back to a 1.1 bootloader by flashing bekit's nvflash images, then run the commands in this thread; and continue posting there.

What's the exact on-screen message. In APX mode, you won't see anything on the screen except a message similar to that.

[Q] Stuck on boot!

I accidently wipe system and stuck on boot! :crying:
How do I access to recovery? I want to restore the system. Is there anyone knows how to boot into recovery by using something else?
Hold down power for 10 + seconds until phone is fully off, then try the hardware button press again
( volume down button whilst powering on.)
Usually the hardware buttons will override and stop it trying to boot
If not will adb recognise it if you plug it into PC?
plug it in and in cmd type 'adb devices'
if recognises try 'adb reboot recovery' in the cmd prompt

Unbrick ZTE Blade L110 - 'fastboot devices' not working in 'Volume Up + Power' menu

I would like to ask for assistance:
- How to unbrick ZTE Blade L110 phone ?
- 'fastboot devices' is not working with the "Volume Up + Power" menu;
- How then to flash TWRP or similar Recovery ROM on bricked device ?
I have three such phones. Phone #1 is bricked (bootloop), Phone #2 is bricked (stuck with logo), Phone #3 is working (for now).
With Phone #3 (not bricked) (with Developer Options and USB Debugging activated), the 'adb devices' command reports the device and I can run 'adb reboot bootloader'. The phone restarts, displays the logo and the text 'Fastboot mode'. The 'fastboot devices' command lists the device.
(I think I can then proceed to 'fastboot flash recovery ...' in order to install TWRP or an alternative recovery ROM, in order to backup the working stock ROM and use it on the bricked phones. I have not yet tried because of problems with bricked devices, described below. And for fear of bricking this one too.)
With Phone #3 (not bricked) again: If I power off the phone and then I power it on with the "Volume Up" button pressed, a menu appears. It is in Chinese (I think). Some menu items perform hardware tests. The one-before-last menu item restarts the phone. The last menu item performs a hard reset.
But when this menu, obtained with "Volume Up + Power", the 'fastboot devices' command does not list the device ! (I have tried both the Windows and the Linux fastboot utilities.)
That is fine for Phone #1 -- I can use 'adb reboot bootloader' to enter the "Fastboot mode" supporting 'fastboot devices', as described above.
But how could I enter a mode which supports 'fastboot devices' on the bricked devices ?
Phone #2 and Phone #3 are unable to boot into Android. They too can enter the Chinese menu by pressing "Volume Up" when powering on. But they too are not listed with 'fastboot devices' at this point.
Would it be possible to correct me if I am doing something wrong or mis-understanding ?
If there is time, any help or idea is warmly welcome and appreciated !
Thank you respectfully for your time !
ZTE Blade L110: fastboot mode from bricked device (without 'adb reboot bootloader')
I have found out how to enter fastbood mode from a bricked ZTE Blade L110.
I used to think that, with the phone switched off, one has to press Power+VolumeUp together for a few seconds.
But that brings up the hardware test menu (which I believe is in Chinese). One can perform a hard reset from that menu (with the last option). But that menu is not fastboot mode !
Instead, one has to power up the phone while continuously tapping VolumeDown for about 10 seconds (with the Power button itself released after some two seconds).
Then a picture of a fallen Android robot appears, with the message "No command given" (or similar, in English or, I think, Chinese).
Next, the user has to simultaneously press all 3 hard keys and all 3 soft keys: Power+VolumeUp+VolumeDown+Back+Home+Menu !
This is achievable by repeatedly tapping all 6 keys. Or by holding down the 3 hard keys (Power+VolumeUp+VolumeDown), but not for more than a few seconds (because long pressing Power reboots the phone), and tapping the 3 soft keys at the bottom of the screen.
Then an English menu appears, which (among other things) allows entering fastboot mode.

[OnePlus 5T] hang on "Press any key to shutdown"

Hello,
i have a bad problem. My 5T freezed during usage and when i boot it does not boot, it reboots immediately showing "Press any key to shutdown" on top left.
The same thing happens by booting volume down+power or volume up+power.
I cannot boot it in fastboot, adb devices and fastboot devices commands do not recognize it.
I've read on the net that for this problem i could have connect the phone to an old usb 2.0 port, but it does not work.
Can anyone please help me?
