[Q] GTab Bricked APX Mode - G Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was going to try one of the new jelly bean roms for my GTab. It required running a prep file to change format. Here is where I am now:
I can connect to Win7 PC in apx mode (I assume it is connected propoerly it shows up in device manager as "NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices"
When I run NVFlash from the cmd window it appears to go through but I can't boot into clockworkmod recovery (Vol + and Pwr) nor when I hold down either the power button or try to at least see the birds prior to going back into apx mode by holding down Vol - and pwr. Nothing shows on the screen. The only time I see anything on the screen is when I go into apx mode while connected to the PC. If I run NVFlash the screen shows one line at the top "Entering NVFlash recovery mode. Other than that don't get anything.
I did open up the device and press the reset. Still have not been able to get the device to do anything but allow me to connect to PC in apx mode.
Any help would be appreciated.
Tom

Go back to a 1.1 bootloader by flashing bekit's nvflash images, then run the commands in this thread; and continue posting there.

What's the exact on-screen message. In APX mode, you won't see anything on the screen except a message similar to that.

[Q] How to boot into APX mode? Vol up doesn't work

Asus TF201 running Virtuous 9.4.2.28 v1
I'm trying to boot into APX mode, but cannot.
I tried holding vol-up during boot. It just boots as per normal.
I tried holding vol-up+power during boot. It starts to boot and then power cycles after ~20 seconds.
I can do vol-dn to go to CWM or fastboot mode (not what i want).
What am I doing wrong?
Solved my own problem. For the TF201, it's [Power]+[Vol Up], and you have to have them both pressed together before reboot. In other words, in the running system, tell it to shutdown. After it's off, hold the two buttons together until your screen goes blank. If you're running windows, as I am, then you may need to tell your device manager to install the APX driver at that time.

Recovery missing

Hi,
I am planning to install heairybean ROM. When I boot in recovery (vol dwn + power -> vol up), I get Android with tummy open and red triangle. I think I have unblocked the bootloader (I see 4 icons after hitting vol dwn + power). Is there any stock recovery available? What I am missing? How can i proceed with the recovery installation?
Thanks in advance.

i got the same thing bud. and have no idea how to fix it? my tf201 is rooted and unlocked 100%. but beside the shrek with the red triangle i noticed that connecting the tablet to any (mac, linux, windows) laptop i cant comunicate to it through adb or fastboot. i get it that in windows you need to find the right drivers (which i've done) but in linux i even have installed the whole android SDK. even that didnt help. still cant talk to the tablet. USB debugging is enabled......
any ideas?
First of all you both need to find what Android versions you are on.
Look in settings - about and see what android version it is (e.g. 4.1.1)
If you are on 4.1.x then when you boot into bootloader menu you press volume down to move to the usb icon and then press volume up to access fastboot.
Drivers for fastboot are here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502
If you need adb and fastboot exe's then here. http://flumpster.lolcakes.com/android/ADB&Fastboot.zip

[Q] No recovery, no bootloader

I installed Ubuntu touch on my Nexus 4 per these instructions: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Install. It deleted my recovery as well as the bootloader. My phone now has an absolutely useless install of Ubuntu touch with no wifi or data. If I try adb reboot bootloader OR adb reboot fastboot all it does is restart the phone back to Ubuntu touch. Vol up+ vol down+ power brings me to this weird new Download Mode screen, where adb reboot bootloader OR fastboot just says "error: device not found". Has anyone else had this problem?
FALSE ALARM! All I had to do was unplug the phone. Phew, that scared me!

Fastboot/recovery on Bay Trail

Hi guys!
Is there any way to put Bay Trail based device into recovery/fastboot using USB keyboard?
My device (Chuwi V99i) has just 2 physical buttons: power and vol- (pinhole under the camera).
Current observations:
If I'll start device while vol- is pressed, then it was entering non-functioning fastboot mode i.e. device was seen by fastboot utility but any command failing instantly.
If I'll start device while vol+ on usb keyboard is pressed, then it was booting safe mode.
If I'll issue "adb reboot bootloader" then device was entering fully functioning droidboot.
If I'll issue "adb reboot recovery" then device was entering non-functioning recovery ("No Command" screen without any reaction to vol- or power button).
I was also able to reboot from droidboot/recovery using ctrl+alt+del on usb-keyboard.
If you can help me, I would really appreciate that!
P.S. I'm advised to post on this forum by XDA Assist.

How do I access download mode with hardware buttons in this device?

I tried going through recovery to bootloader, but that does not put me in download mode. Any other tips except Adb. Just thinking about what I can do in a boot loop or brick except wipe.

If you're in recovery mode, you can use ADB to command a reboot to bootloader, which for most Samsung devices opens download mode as well - the screen is just black instead of green.
Getting into bootloader mode via the buttons depends on the device, but the universal method seems to be this:
Power device completely off, wait a minute or two
Hold both Volume + and - buttons, do NOT press Power
While holding Volume buttons, plug in USB cable connected to your PC
Device should start in download mode.
If you press Power, or connect the USB cable before holding the buttons, your device will just power on.
Going into bootloader does not put me into download. I ahead to use Adb reboot download and you can’t use Adb in stock recovery
