Hi there!
I just bought my new Xiaomi Redmi NOTE 2 TDD 4G.
It worked grate 2 weeks. But now i have a problem whit the headphone jack.
When i connect small headphones to the phone there is no clicking sound from headphones.
But, when i connect larger speakers something like car stereo or home theater speakers there is the annoying unstopping clicking sound.
I have google it, some smartphones have the same problem. But on the Redmi Note 2 it seems to be hardware problem, because if i am in recovery mode its still makes the clicking sound.
May by somebody have the same problem or know something more about it, please leave a comment.
Thank you!

Same problem 1+
Same here
The strange thing is that if you remove and reinsert the jack from the stereo side, the noise will turn off
Does that by any chance happen while you're charging your phone?

Nothing like that on mine so far, been listening to music via my car's AUX input and headphones.
not have this problem (prime version)
hi, have u solved this problem? becouse i cant fix it.. :/
Some cables produce this sound, try another cable It worked for me.
I get this, but only if the plug is not fully inserted. I can even make this same noise using my Xiaomi Piston 3 earphones, again if not fully inserted.
Hey Guys.
I'm creating this thread since I did not find any other old thread about this issue.
When a song or any audio output is done through the Redmi Note 3's Speaker or when it is connected to a Amplifier like a car stereo then there's an Awkward ssssss or Hissing sound.
I've used Two Different models of the Redmi Note 3 thanks to Amazon and both of them have this.
It has a very very low possibility of hardware error.
When a song is played at 1/7 of the total volume, put your ear near the device speaker and listen carefully. You might notice a weird hissing sound. It goes away when there is deep and strong bass but is there lots of times.
Using an amplifier it is most noticeable at lower volumes.
I hope you people understand.
Respond ASAP!

I too faced that situation... But in my case..
The 3.5 mm jack is broken..
I mean.. There's no problem with the phone.. But in sound system I use...
Have you checked this problem with other speakers ...??

Hey,
I actually have noticed this when I played music in my Car and also from the phone's Speaker itself!
Both when the volume is Very Low....
I know it's not a problem with my piece because I've checked with many RN3 Users and same issue is being detected there too.
My RN3 is new and in superb Condition and so are the other Appliances like the Car Stereo I used.
Even then this Hiss sound is there.
I wonder of its a problem with the Chipset altogether since there isn't a sound/music chip in it...
I hope it's a software issue and gets resolved fast...
When recording sound from the speaker output yes the sound is levied towards the high end, this is probably what causes the hissing sound in your amplifier since it can't properly amplify that freq or something along those lines, I'm not too sure since I'm no sound engineer but that's just my 50 cent.
Edit
Dumb me, your amplifier is probably a 3.5mm headphone Jack right? If so then there shouldn't be this issue and my above statement wouldn't apply ;-;
I noticed this when using Viper Audio. There was a small but noticeable hissing in the left earphone. It went away when I turned off playback gain control.
Maybe check if any equalisers or headphone effects are on and turn them off?

I had checked everything possible. I even did now.
No part of the settings, equalizer, audio effects could fix it....
And where's the option you're talking about for playback gain control? I'm still unrooted with a locked bootloader on MIUI V7.2.3.0LHOMIDA
The sound is there in both speakers in my case. I'm not using anything other than the stock music application and some great songs on an amplifier I.e. Cars stereo
Anybody has got the solution? I am also facing same issue ??

Not till now.
I've bought this Bluetooth audio adaptor that serves my purpose in the car.
Funnily nobody at Mi noticed this.
I'll do a bug report highlighting this issue.
Everyone else plase do too!

I have also dropped them a mail. Will also report bug. Thank you for your solution but I'll probably have to wait as my car system does not support Bluetooth.

Even mine didn't support Bluetooth.
If your Stereo supports USB and Aux in, you can also go for the adapter since it only needs those two.
USB for Power and Aux In for the Music.

I had a similar problem. Whenever I connected my headphones to my Redmi Note 3, there would be a weird hissing noise at low volumes especially. At higher volumes, it would reduce. I found a fix to this on Reddit, but you need to be rooted.

Looks like a legacy. We are well into 2017 and the issue still exists. I bought my RN3 a couple of weeks ago and noticed the hissing on the third day of use. I just have been ignoring it. After all, it's a Chinese phone. I bought it and I have to live with it.
Good afternoon! The solution for problems with Redmi Note 3 and AUX is the following (solves the problem of correct detection and noise during playback): it is necessary to solder or otherwise connect resistors with a rating of 10 ohms between the common "0" wire and the left and right channel wires (I did 17 Ohm , did 10 ohms - both options work).
After you make this cable, the sequence of actions is as follows: the cable is first inserted into the smartphone, wait for the icon to appear with the headphones, and then insert into the AUX-input of the radio or audio system.
Just got a Redmi Note 4 (Global Edition) and when I use headphones it does not go very loud. is this a bug or have I got a faulty unit?
Even my nokia bh 503 doesn't give much loudness but wired earphones works like charm

Hi all,
How is the quality for the 3.5mm Audio Jack?
I've had a Zenfone 2 for a few years now and my earphones sound awesome with it. I need another dual SIM + MicroSD slot phone. Zenfone 6 is too expensive so I am considering the Note 9 S instead but music from the earphone jack is VERY important.
Help me out please.
Thanks!
Sound quality is good but volume is rather low. Apparently MIUI have a problem with the volume. I tested bluetooth audio (with Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones) and is almost unlistenable, very very low volume. I also tested wired headphones plugged to jack, and the volume show a little improvement, but is noticeable lower than my previous Xiaomi Mi A1. I also tested the Note 9S with USB DAC+Amp, Hidizs Sonata HD. Again, there is an improvement over jack or bluetooth, but noticeable low than other devices (at half media volume). I think is a MIUI issue and not device-dependent, because I tested a Redmi Note 8 and showed the same issues (at least with BT headphones)
Currently I don't recommend the Redmi Note 9S for listening to music, until Xiaomi releases a fix.
Just to confirm that on my 9S (Global Rom 11.0.8) the music volume on the 3.5 jack is a little bit low for my liking, it could do with being a few notches louder.
I also have the Sony bluetooth headphones WH 1000XM3. The volume and quality is very good on Bluetooth. Very loud and excellent quality.
Just wondering xsam123 in the above post - is your volume set to Max on the headphone touch panel? We also have a redmi note 8pro in the household, the BT volume is very good on that phone too.
Here is the perfect solution for breath taking sound in Redmi note 9 prom
In MIUI OS Sound quality is very bad.
So I always change MIUI with AOSP rom via Custom recovery.
After coming to AOSP, We can install modules named as "Ainur Narsil"
After this module, You will get Sound quality like flagship model.
Enjoy!!
Does anyone know if you can use type C earphones with the Note 9S? Has anyone used any?

Yes, I used Hidizs Sonata USB DAC and works OK ?
Yes, i used Huawei earphones type c
Cool thanks, how is the quality, loudness comparedd to the 3.5mm?
Sent from my Redmi Note 9S using Tapatalk
The sound is fantastic. I find that it sounds better than the 3.5mm connector. But, you must consider that when you take the audio out of the type C port, it is the DAC of the headset that works. In addition, the audio improvements provided by the MIUI application are added when detecting a device connected by port c. Totally recommended to use USB sound.

Thanks for your reply. I've been in audio limbo at the moment considering bluetooth headphones or new wired headphones and thought id look at the USB C options after getting the 9S.
Do the miui sound enhancer and equalizer option still work via USB? I use them with a set of wired sennheisers and find the quality decent after some tweaking, im no audiophile, but have found the audio output quality of xiaomi's to be quite good.

I agree with USB as the best choice to listen to music currently with Redmi Note 9S. I'm facing a bug with my Sony WH-1000XM3 Bluetooth headphones -and all Bluetooth audio devices connected to my phone- that makes them sound very very low. Very annoying bug, I'm even thinking to sell my phone if Xiaomi doesn't fix it.

Hi there,
I also own these brilliant headphones, And I have the 9S global. I don't have any problem whatsoever with BT volume, in fact the BT output is very very loud.
Still yet to try USB audio though, it's great to hear that this works well. As inconvenient as it may be maybe a factory reset will solve your problem. Hope you sort it ?
