technically no, but mine charges pretty fast with a Q 2.0 charger at around 1270mA
My battery rarely goes below 40% so it's not a real problem

Isn't all snapdragon 615 chips support quick charge.?
Also is it worth the Money to buy a new quick charge charger?

[Q] Help! Quick Charge 2.0

I hope someone can help me out with this. I was made aware back in March that the HTC One M8 supported something called 'Quick Charge 2.0'. According to Qualcomm, all smartphones with Snapdragon 800 and 801 processors (to include phones like the Xperia Z2, GS5 and HTC One M8) supported Quick Charge 2.0 by default.
I bought the only official Quick Charge 2.0 charger available which is the NTT Docomo AC Adapter 05, imported from Japan. I just received it in the mail today and am testing it out on my phone, and it is not charging at Qualcomm's advertised Quick Charge 2.0 speeds, only at the regular speed. I don't know what to do to fix this. Can anyone help me out?

If your phone is completely stock, then it might require a kernel update (from HTC) to support QC2. It's also possible that, for some reason, the specific charger you got won't work with this phone. No one here is going to be able to help much for a charging standard that doesn't exist in the region yet.
Received confirmation from HTC that QC 2.0 has been disabled on the US handsets. An OTA update is supposed to be released to support it, someday. For now I'm gonna try a kernel that supports fast charging to see if that works. According to qualcomm all 2.0 spec chargers should work with all 2.0 spec phones, there's shouldn't be any chargers that work with some phones and not with others. So we'll see.
It seems I was premature. After some more testing it appears that quick charge IS working and the problem was the battery stats not being reported correctly. Phone just charged from 24% to 46% in about 10 minutes! That's a vast improvement over the Quick Charge 1.0 speed. Gonna charge/discharge a few more times in order to get some correct readings.

Has the Quick-charge 2.0 chargers offering improved since or what? I would really like to get my hands on one but ordering from Japan and paying 53 bucks seems a bit over the top... Any news regarding the subject?

So when is HTC going to come out with it's own Quick Charge 2.0 charging brick. When the phone was first release all the tech articles I can find says HTC plans on releasing a charger with the required 1.67amps needed by Quick Charge 2.0 spec. I guess I could look for a 1.67amp charger and see if that works but would like to stick to and HTC charging brick that I know will work with QC 2.0.
Thanks

From Qualcomms website:
In laboratory tests using a 3300mAh battery, a Quick Charge 2.0 enabled device went from 0% to 60% charge in 30 minutes, while a device without Quick Charge 2.0 using a conventional (5 volt, 1 amp) charger achieved just a 12% gain in the same 30 minutes.

Asus Padfone S Plus

Anyone see this or is interested? I was looking to buy a Padfone S but stumbled across this. It looks like the difference is around ~50 dollars for a little bit of performance boost (but hey, the newer the better).
My only question is if I wonder if it works with the first generation S tablet dock so I don't have to buy another...

yes, both using same version of station so it works.

I bought the dock for my Padfone S, and it works fine with my Padfone S Plus (Malaysian user here).
Anyone tried installing Unofficial CM12 Lollipop upgrade for "plus" version?
I have this version but the tw sku it's just the PadFone s with 3gb of ram and 64gb of internal storage . I use the dock from the 16 gb PadFone S
I am seriously thinking on getting this. Only problem for me is a battery life, but I think Asus made a good compromise - quick charging.
450 Euro I think is a good price for it.
I bought plus from UK, (thought it' being selled only in Malaysia) and mine have WW firmware. Performance with this 3gb ram is amazing. You can almost forgot about closing apps. About battery, you can easily get they thru the day with 2300 mah on regular usage, and get 3-4 h on screen on. About quick charge, I didn't get quick charger with device. Only 5V, 2A. I am using a A66 PadFone charger because of EU plug instead of UK and it seems to have a quick charge mode (additional 15V, 1.4A) but sadly PadFone S is not being charged any quicker for me. Maybe because of incompatible quick charge charger mode.
i also have padfone s plus and quick charging doesnt work with the padfone s
Strange, because I asked some retailers at ebay and they said that S Plus supports quick charging. And Station is bulky and heavy right? I am still considering it, I know it won't be Galaxy Tab S or Ipad Air like, but is it usable, or it's just too heavy to hold in some positions?
It's bulky only where phone's get in, in center. For me it's not heavy at all. I can easily hold it in one hand. Also I am wondering if 10" infinity tablet will work with S, because dimensions are quite the same. If I find out I'll share with you.
Thanks guys for your useful posts. It's good to know more about Padfone S because there aren't much information about it.
Ebay has an offer for both S Plus phone and station for 500 Euros. However, I think I will try to wait for S Plus in my country for a 2 year warranty service (September at best).

I was planning to upgrade to lollipop once I get the phone. What method do I need to root? My main concern is just rooting. Don't really need to unlock bootloader. Would be nice to be able to use twrp since i am used to using it to do a backup of system and data.
Thanks for the heads up, I've not updated to L yet as I was waiting to move back into my house before I went ahead.

The specs are everywhere right? Not the exact, but still almost a crude idea of what we will be getting in OP2 is out there on the net..The biggest leak that has yet come is that its going to come with snapdragon 810 v2.0(well,thats what they are calling it!). Its said its an undrclcked one. Hope it comes out well. And then the latest news is that OP2 will be the first phone to come out with C Port!! More news maybe leaked soon enuf since its about time that OP2 will be launched(almost in august)..
Lets hope for the best !
Any idea when's the release?
My small wishlist includes no capacitive buttons and a larger screen to fill that space, like a Note 4 or Nexus 6. If 1+2 has at least 5.5" and QHD it's coming home with me. Bonus if it's waterproof.

yes.. They have told us its a new 810 chipset wch they say doesnt have heating issues. Hope it comes out like that. Also there as another news that it is been underclockd to reduce the heating issue.. Lets see what comes out tomorrow !
Here is my wish list:
1. as little bezel as possible - LG status please
2. front facing speaker(s) - doesn't have to be stereo just facing our ears please
3. massive battery - 3500-3900 depending on the screen type
4. waterproof/resistant
5. fingerprint sensor - put it on the back to keep the bezeless design
6. wireless charging
7. decent price (still lower than competition)
8. good camera
9. and oh yeah A WAY TO ORDER IT WITHOUT HAVING TO WIN THE FREAKING LOTTERY
Would be a dream, 2k res and proc is already a given... but I don't care as much 1080 p is fine with me for battery reasons
USB type C - what difference does this bring to the smartphone compared to the micro USB? (apart from speed)
I understand for a laptop as it can charge it, but with the micro usb, I can already charge my device.

You can never be too trustful of rumors but supposedly it will be marketed at the same cost as the original with the invite only system in place again
Snapdragon 810 v2.1
4GB RAM
OxygenOS (Lollipop 5.1)
Maybe a fingerprint reader but that's quite doubtful
And USB-Type C charging is confirmed
The first phone with USB-Type C
I am also curious about it. But it is really hard to say.
I personally would prefer 4g ram and full hd

If it requires more time to charge it's because has more battery. Anyway it depends mainly on use mA that the battery is capable of draining when charging.

I love wireless charging... Especially in the car it is just so convenient. Count me in as dissapointed...
It appears Huawei has *NO* phones with wireless charging, so it is likely the N6p really won't have it. That's a major deal breaker for me. That's the most important feature in years. I have 5 wireless charging bases, including three in my house plus work and car. If I wanted a phone circa 2012 I'd buy an iPhone. Now, to research other phablets...

Probably because all of their phones have metal casing, can't charge wirelessly through metal.
Is the camera area actually raised, or does it just look that way? It seems like it would make making cases for it difficult. Also, I'm interested to see what the overall dimensions of the phone are. The top and bottom bezels look very large to me. If it's the same size as the current Nexus 6, that's a lot of wasted space. I really couldn't care less about the finger print sensor, or lack of wireless charging.

V2 was the first mass production revision, which was present in both the LG G Flex 2, and HTC One M9
...
Meanwhile there were rumors floating around of a new revision due to show up in the summer, and it appears that this is the rumored revision. This leads me to question whether it made sense to release devices with the v2 revision, especially if future revisions would have resolved some notable issues and dramatically improved SoC performance. I also question whether OEMs would silently introduce these SoCs into later production runs of products that first shipped with v2, which is yet another can of worms.
Putting these questions aside, this new revision brings much-needed improvements to the Snapdragon 810, and should go a long way as a stop-gap until Snapdragon 820 begins shipping. We'll see how the change from v2 to v2.1 affects performance on a higher level in our Xiaomi Mi Note Pro review coming shortly.

so HTC said they are using the v2.1, just like how qualcomm said there's no heat issue with the 810, how credible do you think those words are? by your logic, do you have to know someone with a Z4/Z3+ to know that it overheats?

Nobody claimed that it doesn't overheat!
OnePlus made a big fuss about v2.1 but they underclocked it to remedy the heat issue. Plus it's a thick phone with a plastic back so you don't feel it as much as you would with a metal phone which conducts heat or a thin phone like the Sony!
