This has been a problem on my Lenovo Twist. Every 6 Seconds the screen dims with no way I have found to set it to stay on. Is there any hack than stop the auto dimming?
Only solution to the auto dimming problem was to set screen timeout to a preselected value (I chose 30 minutes). I don't know why the screen dims after 6 seconds when I set the screen to "always on"

So on all my other android phones the screen would dim about 2/3rds into the display timeout.
So if time out was 30 seconds it would dim at around 18 seconds and then turn off at 30.
On the Razr it does dim but very...very....very....very little.
Is this a software design, glitch, etc?
Also, should I be using the setting under display options about dimming the screen (this doesn't seem to change the display much)
Any way to disable the screen dim that occurs a few seconds before the screen off occurs?
The screen dims even when it is plugged into the charger. Gets annoying when I have it mounted as an MP3 player in the car for example, or even if I'm just using it in bright light.
The maximum screen dim level setting is too dark to see.
Go into Settings > Display and set Sleep to 10 or 30 min

I still want it to sleep after about a minute, I just don't want it to dim first.
Even on charge, it dims after about 50 seconds then doesn't shut off if I have "stay awake" selected.
I have cm-11-20150817-NIGHTLY-i9300 version of CM. The delay for turning off the display on lock screen equals to the delay of turning off the screen in normal mode. Usually display in lock screen switch off after 10 seconds. Can I somehow adjust the time of switching off in lock screen?
If you've got auto screen brightness enabled, if you open up chrome, or Facebook, or certain apps, the screen dims slightly... Which is annoying.. Apart from turning off auto brightness (which I like to keep on) is there any way to stop it?
It happens even if auto brightness is off ! Very annoying and there's no way round it :crying:

I can't recreate this problem. The screen does dim itself a few seconds before your screen timeout is set, so that maybe it. Try increasing your timeout from the default 30 seconds under the Display options.

No, it's definitely there...think it's something to do with power-saving or to prevent screen burn-in because these 2 apps have mainly white screens. If you compare the screen of FaceBook / Chrome to an app which doesn't dim ( e.g. ebay) then you can see a definite dimming as soon as you open either one.
I didn't noticed it before seeing this thread. Personally I like it ^^
But I understand that we should be able to deactivate it.
My Tmobile LG V60 always fades the screen darker after 30 seconds on not touching it and when screen sharing to a miracast display. This is different from the screen timeout which turns the screen off. How can I keep the phone screen on full brightness all the time? This happens in Safe Mode also. To reproduce, screen share with a miracast display and then sit on the home screen for more than 30 seconds.

Turn up your screen off time.
I have turned it as high as 10 minutes and the screen still fades to low brightness after about 25 to 30 seconds of not touching it. Does this happen with your V60 also when screen sharing to a miracast display? My LG 6 did not do this while screen sharing.

I don't use miracast, but when I set my screen to 10 minutes and cast to any other device, it does not fade until a few seconds before the 10 minutes.
