My phone is Samsung J1 (2016). There is no custom recovery for this model so far.
I never built Android or recovery from source, but I can compile kernel and repack ROM.
What should be modified to achieve pre-rooted ROM?

Here is the Custom rom i.e SENSE based Custom rom released for Star Mobile Astra:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2247296
Also Contains TWRP recovery.
Also make sure that there is proper kernel source code available for the device. As if there is no proper kernel source (which seems to be the case with alot of China based MTK devices. )They will be removed from the site.
hi
i have a samsung galaxy fame (gt-s6810) and i want to install android kitkat 4.4 on my device.
i pretend to create a kernel from the sources code of my device.
Then, my idea, is to replace the kernel from the nexus 5 factory image, for the kernel i will create.
from this way, when I install the android factory rom, will be compatible with the hardware of my device.
is this possible or it won't work?
If possible, could anyone please post a tutorial to integrate the created kernel to the factory image?
Hi!
I've made the unofficial CWM recovery. It bases on recovery included in CM 12.1. Unfortunately, I can't compile kernel from source. So, I used a built kernel binary from original ROM ( Android 4.1.2). It doesn't boot. I reckon device tree is correct. The version of original kernel is 3.4. What shall I do?
Sorry for my bad english.
Hi, i have success compiled kernel for Galaxy S6 (G9200 HK). For 5.0.2 is full working can root via pingpongroot.
BUT now i use 5.1.1 and have problem.
Have compiled kernel for 5.1.1 without ROOT it working good on stock ROM but i can't root my ROM.
After i try root via TWRP, i tried use (SuperSU v2.52 and another versions)
After i root my ROM i have bootloop and frezzes.
I too tried use custom kernels with integrated root and it working good!
But i need have selfcompiled kernel, because i want have mac80211 support.
Now i have question.
How i can compile kernel with root inside without have bootloop.??
My selfcompiled kernels for 5.1.1 working good but without root. I must have root :/
Samsung have special security lock rooted phone in kernel another than the one below?
Or my problem is i don't know how compile kernel with unchecked restriction feature?
I know that in source code are options in menuconfig is
Kernel hacking --->
[*] Samsung Rooting Restriction Feature
but i can't uncheck this, because without it can't compile kernel :/
Bootloop is too when i try root STOCK kernel 5.1.1 or try back to Stock kernel when i used custom 5.1.1 rooted kernel.
and small question Comunicat "kernel is not seandroid" don't make problem, but in custom kernels compiled by another people it don't appear how i can remove it from my kernels?
I hope someone can help me
SLOVED:
TIMA security removed in kernel
and
in build.plop
security storage = false
Samsung has released it's Nougat kernel source now for J510 (H/FN/..) here:
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=j510
Go for the NN zip file.
Cheers
How to flash this?
how to flash this kernel on stock unrooted 7.1.1?
and what's new on this for example it is compatible with AOD?
@nikos7hellas That is kernel SOURCE released by SAMSUNG for the J510. You need to compile it before you can flash it.
If you don't modify it it would be the same as the kernel that comes with STOCK Samsung ROM.
