How does one use wide angle camera in 3rd party apps such as say Snapchat?
within third party apps, you can switch between front/back cameras
with the lg g5, theoretically the phone should switch between front/back/back-wide-angle

Correct. Just tried in WhatsApp & it toggled through the 3 cameras ?
Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
It doesn't work like that in Snapchat apparently ):

Thanks for your comment
LG V20 and i can use the wide angle with open camera
Yea, Open camera toggles between front/back/wide. but unlike the stock app you have to go through all 3, no separate icon and also when zoom in/out does not automatically switch to wide/regular.

Assuming your on stock that';s just the way it is, look into xposed, their maybe a mod to change it, you would need root tho
It used to take photos on stock so i am not sure what happened

There's a option in camera settings called quick launch set that to Launch and capture.
Hi,
I can't find the option to save RAW on the LG G5 SE.
As far as I know the camera of both G5 and G5 SE are the same, yet I can't see the RAW file option.
Any light on that?
Thanks!
up
try downloading a 3rd party manual camera app from google play and see if it shows anywhere in settings whether this camera supports raw shooting
try apps like camera fv-5, I think there is a free version of it. Or pay a few dollars for manual camera, AZ camera or any of those apps
Same here
I'm having the same issue! No raw option is available on my g5 se H845.
I've tried 3rd party apps that shoot raw and it was fine (camera fv-5), but none of them was as smooth as the stock camera app on my g5 se.
any suggestion?
G5 SE stock camera don`t have RAW mode.
Sorry for my english
Open camera
on my G5 stock camera app I have to be in manual mode to switch to RAW JPG. open the stock camera app hit the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select manual. it will force landscape orientation. on the left side there will be a small white box with JPG in it tap the box and it will switch to RAW JPG. I believe the phone saves 2 copies of the picture in this mode.
I hate when companies take this kind of decisions.
Same camera hardware on G5 and G5 SE but as the SE is cheaper they cut off the RAW option on the app, just because the phone is cheaper.
What an amazing move.
Which Camera app do you use and why?
I've been switching between ABC and Open Camera.
Those both have DRO built in.
ABC night mode works well sometimes.
I like Open Camera HDR and the ability to lower ISO, though it doesnt support 23MP
I haven't had a chance to try the snap camera much.
I'm using CameraNextMod.
Stock - third party apps have worse shutter lag because camera will refocus before capture.
stock and google one

Never heard of that one, I'll have to look for the proj thread
XNext Camera, a modified Stock Camera
https://forum.xda-developers.com/cr.../sonyz5-family-unlocked-xz-xc-camera-t3463148
I like keeping with the stock camera because i can use the dedicated camera button, and it uses the full 22.3 mp. With the mod, you could do some manual shooting (minus RAW capture)
You should be able to use the camera button with any camera.
I'd like to use the sony stock, but I'm on Lineage now so I didnt think it would work.

I just tried it with google camera, which is my only other camera app and i just knew now that it works. But the pre-focus doesnt.
Can Lineage capture RAW photos?
Stock because most apps dosnt support the max 23MP only 8MPx beside Camera FV-5
but! Camera FV-5 crash alot, the good thingg in Camera FV-5 you can use while the phone is hot and blow 4% batt, and abit more "control"
Only reason why I use Snap Camera is because I'm using LineageOS
Otherwise, I'd probably stick with default Sony camera
How can I make the camera stay at 64 mp? Every time I put it in and take a photo it goes back to 16 mp

The LG V60 defaults its camera shots to 16MP, or about 25% of its actual 64MP range. You can change it in the camera app settings, but it will reset when you close the app all the way. Another, faster way to change it is to tap the 4:3 icon at the top of the screen and change it to 4:3 64MP.

I think basically....you can't.
If there are any developers willing to try, one idea is to root and maybe modify the camera_profiles.xml. And then maybe 3rd party apps could shoot 64MP.......just a thought.
So far, 64MP is restricted :
1) stock app only
2) only works with full auto....no manual control
3) the app will default back to 16mp every single time the app is switched out of shooting mode
4) no raw for 64mp
Other restrictions for the LG V60 camera AFAIK
- RAW does not work for many 3rd camera apps....not even OPEN CAMERA
- RAW only seems to work for Lightroom Mobile and Pro-Shot outside of the stock app.
Has anyone noticed too much noise on the 10x lens in nightmode?
Ummmm...f/4.9 apperture, what do you expect from a 1/3.52" sensor.
The perisope is a lens for good (day) light.
You wouldn't shut your Canon 250mm f/5.6 at night without tripod.

The telephoto lens' aren't meant for nightography. Use 1x at night.
Install camera assistant then go into the stock camera settings and do the following...
Camera Assistant
Auto lens switching
Toggle auto lens switching off
This has you truly using the lens you've selected. Cause ordinarily the camera crops the main lens in sometimes even when you choose 3x or 10x lens. Ridiculous! Makes the zoom grainy as hell

Is ridiculous isn't it. Cropping the main lens to give us grainy hell. Works sometimes for the situation but for me it's more of a miss than a hit

Then turn off auto lens switching. I haven't had any issues since installing camera assistant.

They are both there.
Camera Assistant is accessible through settings, near the bottom.
Expert Raw is one of the available modes, like Night and Portrait. Scroll the modes until you see More. Tap, and you'll see the additional modes. You can move them to the main screen if you want.

Ok , but you need to download these first in order to see their menus inside camera app. AND when you try to move Expert raw in main menu camera, you can't because the Expert Raw button becomes grey
