I'm using l21 variant and i recently got the b140 update... After updating I'm experiencing an onvious decrease in battery life.... Sot has decreased to almost 4 hrs which was previously almost 6 hrs and the phone keeps on using battery juice even when phone is locked and screen is off....
Ps. My usage scenario is same before and after the update... I haven't installed any new apps... And I'm on stock rom wothout root....

I got the same issue after downgrading to completely stock yesterday during the night. I checked at the cable and used another one to be sure with no success.
Couldn't figure out what was the problem until I noticed my other devices were also affected as they were connected on the same charger.
I then saw my other cable on the other side (the electrical outlet) was disconnected...

My cable and charger are connected just fine.... I just noticed that the charging is also slow now.... I charged it for 2 hrs and it went from 23% to 65%.... I don't know what's the problem....

Ok... Will do so shortly.... And tell the result....

I did the factory reset almost 6 hours ago and was still testing the phone thoroughly...
The battery problem seems to have gone... I haven't completely charged the phone 100 percent as of yet ,so will tell sot when will do so..... and 1 hrs charge took me from 35 to 75 percent....
everything seems pretty fine.... it's even heading up less....

If you can, try a different ROM, wipe everything, and see if the issues persist. If so try a different battery.
My phone did this using a different cable other then the one that came with it. My solution, use only the cable that came with it.

Well, as the title says.. today I've charged my Xperia S from 5% to 100 and yea i am sure that the charger is the EP850
to my problem:
the phone takes about 20 minutes to get to 18% which makes 13%/20 minutes which means that the phone takes about 2h30 to fully charge up and i don't consider this as normal...
anyone facing this? and got a solution?
The thing is battery change level is not linear. So you can't assume 5% to 18% in 20 minutes == 13% / 20 minutes. If the device is new, it will need at least 5 recharge cycles to calibrate properly.

Do you have alot of apps running in the background ?
Cuz that also uses power
if your phone is using power, connection to internet/gps or whatever, or syncing stuff, it will also charge slower.
Well i got the sync on but at night i put all background data off so that cant be the cause..

Try another charger or a factory reset.

Probably they got it wrong. Fast charge is supported and my source at Sony confirms that:
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
[email protected] saying that the S doesnt support the fast charging, even on my Box there is a sticker with this on it : 10 Minutes charging = 60 minutes of phone calls so yeah they might have got something wrong there.. but still this is bugging me.. Ive tried a factory reset with restoring apps and still it doesnt work :-( im beginning to think that there is something wrong mit my S' hardware :/
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
What Markus is saying is right, you are mixing your technologies up and there is nothing wrong with your hardware.
All charging starts with the highest current so 10 minutes charge will give 60 minutes of calls if you live in the lab, Sony wont give you the worst case figures or they would have told you your S would be flat in 10 hours. As K900 pointed out charging is not linear, it starts with a whump and tails off as the battery gets fuller and fuller, if it didn't it would boil the cells.

It happened to me. Your battery is dying.
I bought a new one from Mugen Power and now I reach 2 days instead of 2 hours at same usage.

Yeh same thing happened to me, I managed to knock it up to dying around 95%. I was too cheap at the time to buy a new one

Same problem with my x10

I tried everything,
Sln is change the battery

When they die, they die. $10 off ebay got me an oem replacement. Heavy gaming I get a half day to full, depends on game. Regular usage gets almost 2 days worth. With the new one I try not to make it a habit to charge it while over 20% battery and regularly let it die out on its own and use fera's technique to keep it conditioned. Had the same battery for a year now.
My dad's Xperia U used to last around 4-5 days with a bit of Wi-Fi, 40% brightness and a call a day. Battery would go down to 15-20%.
Now as you unplug the charger it goes from 100% to 96% instantly. After using it for half a second the battery went down to 93%. Wi-Fi is off, brightness is set to 30% and Auto-Sync is OFF. What do I do? It's not rooted and it's running Stock Gingerbread 2.3.7
Quick replies will be appreciated.
Additional Info: The phone is under warranty and it was purchased about 2 months ago.
Try calibrate the battery

It has nothing to do with dev support......
To the point now.....
Have you charged it till our showed charged and then disconnected or you waited for another half an hour and then disconnected.....
Try charging with fone switched off till it's fully charged plus half an hour more....
After you find this drop in battery did you restarted your fone????

I charged it to 100% while the phone was on, plus about 20-30 minutes more. I unplugged it and the battery went down to 96% instantly. Whereas it used to stay on 100% for about a day. I've restarted the phone recently but no difference. I'll try charging it when its off.

In my opinion its good to send it to repair center mate, it can be a battery problem.
same thing happened on my Samsung Galaxy Y, so i disregarded battery full indication, when battery showed full i restarted. left to charge and did it again if problem persisted. problem disappeared gradually.
Thank you everyone!

Question
Hi to all
My xperia u does something quite weird. I can't get my battery to last more than one day. I tried different roms, kernels with governors and my battery seems to drain and the main consumer is my screen _ about 65 % while any other process doesn't pass over 15%. Has anybody conflicted with this problem?
How do I get it fixed? Do I need to buy another battery?
PS: I don't have warranty hence the unlocked bootloader

Decrease your brightness and turn of Mobile Bravia Engine if you don't need it. I have three Xperia U's in my house and two of them used to have the problem. Turned the brightness down to 30% and it resolved it. Also I charge it to 100% and kill it down to complete 0% by heavy usage. Try this. Works with laptops and phones.

I am using the Miui 8.0.1. stable Rom from xiaomi.eu
The battery indications are strange. The number gets low quick, it falls from 100% to 1% in a short period, and I am not doing much on the phone. It takes like 5-6 hours to go to 1 or 0% but when I take the battery out and put it in again and switch on the phone, all without charging it, then suddenly the battery shows like 56%. How can that be? It is quite annoying and makes no sense. The indication is not reliable at all. I don't even know how much battery is really left. Please help

Do you do it every time after charging your battery? How do you calibrate it?
Even after battery calibration, battery drain is still present. This has something to do with Redmi Note 2 having problems connecting to 2g, 3g and 4g cell towers and WIFI chipset.

I have the same with my rn2. Maybe battery controller on mb? Very annoying ?

2 different battery, same problem for me. I could recognize that there is some different, if I use WiFi instead of mobile data...
Looking for a solution as well!
Me too.
I'm trying downgrading to miui 7 to see what happens....

I'm using the last stable miui 7 by xiaomi.eu and the 20 firsts minutes was consuming a lot, after this firsts 20 min it's working very well. I'm on 60 % after one day, with very few use, it's working very well for me.
I have detected that using the original charger causes the problem in my case.
It's better to use a USB port from a computer or an old charger. I think the problem is with fast charge.

I did some tests, I wrote the results also on the official forum in the Feedback on Battery thread.
I always had problem with battery since I got my Prime on Oct. 2015, max ~2h SOT, even on MIUI 7.
I did a test without SIMs, wifi only and I reached ~4h SOT.
Then I did a test again with SIMs and data (set to 3G), ~2h SOT again.
And another test wifi only, ~4h SOT again.
Can someone repeat the same test?
100% to ~15% on data -> ?h SOT
100% to ~15% on wifi -> ?h SOT
