I really want to update to 6.0 but I no longer have the phone on the verizon network... Is there a file I can download to update manually?

Have you tried using the update feature in settings? Other than that, you can use the Samsung Desktop Utility (named something like that, but don't quote me on the name) to install it through USB.

Well then you can't download the update through the system update app on your phone and you need to download and install it manually through ODIN (check Google on how).
If you have never uses ODIN before, it's very easy to brick your phone if you don't know what you are doing, so follow the instructions CAREFULLY.
Also, remove your SIM card out of the phone when install it. This isn't required, but just to be sure that something wierd doesn't happen when installing the OS. Android likes to do random things all the time.

Was able to update through samsung smart switch aha Thanks. Also the stock firmware uploaded here doesn't work in Odin or makes mine freeze at least

Is Verizon sim card a must for OTAs? I just bought a Verizon galaxy s6 edge plus unlocked.

I started getting a popup this morning letting me know their is a software update for my Verizon Galaxy S4.
I do not want to update it for 2 reasons: First my phone is rooted and I'm not sure if the rooting process will still work after the update. Secondly, I read through the release notes, and it made no changes or bug fixes to anything that I use.
That popup pops up about every 2 minutes and is VERY annoying.
How do I get rid of it?
Thanks,
Mike
Could use this as well

Uncheck automatic update in settings/about device/software update....

Just root it after the update again, as you did before.
This isn't an iPhone.

No option like that for me in their, as soon as I hit software update it goes right to the popup with only options of "Install Now" or "Install Later".
I have a SCH-I545 btw.
And the reason I love Android over iPhone is that I'm not usually bullied into doing something a certain way, so if at all possible, I would prefer not to cave in to Samsung.
Thanks,
Mike

If I'm not mistaken this is the general s4 forum and the OP clearly states he has a Verizon s4 and this link states that there is no new root method for the Verizon s4 update.

Use droidstyle's guide. Section 1b has odin to stock. Use the vramc3 file and it will be on the latest ota and relocked.

After going through the unlock process on the Verizon Note 2, would I be able to then use a MetroPCS sim card in it? I went through the entire process in Casual, it said I was unlocked, but when i popped my metro sim, it wouldn't recognize it.
I'm guessing I either messed up somewhere, or it isn't capable of doing it.
Can anyone shed some light?

One of the gsm guys can probably help you with the apn settings for your carrier. Fingerprint reader won't work unless your boot loader says locked.

Do you know the APN settings for your carrier because you will need to add that one and likely the MMS one for your phone.
I recently bought Samsung galaxy quattro for a friend and i noticed that in settings its written 4.1.2 in about phone which i claim is not.
1) First you can't expand notification via single finger, you need to use 2 finger.
2) Memory leak issue.
I think its 4.1.1
What's your thoughts guys?
Sent from my C1905 using Tapatalk
Strange. Samsung doesn't have reasons to modify build.prop. Your friend could use Odin to reflash stock ROM, it might solve these problems

Yes, I can. But, before flashing the stock rom, bring the device to authorized technical assistance, since it's still on warranty.

I'm pretty sure it's Korean (Asia?) variant.
Sorry, going to hijack the thread but I think it is relevant.
I have a sm-t865 but don't use the lte anymore as have more than enough data on my phone and link that way.
So, can I use odin to install the sm-t860 rom on the tablet so won't have any of the phone and messaging stuff?
Just curious!

T860 still has all the phone and messaging stuff - You just can't use any of it without connecting a phone.
Hello everyone i have a tricky question i have the SM-T867U that the lte USA variant from tmobile i had it already unlocked the tricky question is i like more for personal preference the u1 firmware on my phones so where im going is if this LTE tablet had any firmware like the U1 on the galaxy phones i have through of installing the German or UK firmware but i dont know if they contain bloats or if the LTE works fine with USA carriers (wich i doubt) any info is welcome.
