if you're on stock, you need to get the busybox app from the play store and follow the instructions in the app.
by the way, you have to be rooted of course

wow, wait, don't use the preset values they are wayyyyy too low for the phone to work properly...
multitasking is generally bad on official lollipop on this phone, if you want a performance boost i suggest you get yourself cm13 (the lastest snapshot build is really good and stable, but of course you will have to go through the process of unlocking your bootloader and flashing twrp which can be risky)..
otherwise (only if you are rooted AND have busybox installed), try to play around with the values yourself instead of using the predefined ones that are no good. also to get better multitaksing, debloat your phone and reconsider if you need stuff like fb messenger etc...
that's all i can tell you about this topic

You have to flash another Kernel in order to install Andoird Revolution HD, AOSP Kernels won't work. you don't have to use stock kernel, you can also try hXORe kernel or elitekernel, which is based on blade kernel (although not latest version).

Core Manger helps you to optimize performance of this kernel.
For this you may try layapota's resource manager. (Don't install his mod pack as it causes issues with ARHD 7)

As Addicted2xda already said, you can change some kernel settings. Maybe you should know that by default this kernel only uses 3 cores on boot. So in case your not happy with only 3 cores, you have to run core manager after every reboot, set to 4 cores (or your desired number of cores) and press "Save & Exit" Button.
thank you very much guys.
i searched in the Q&A forums but i didn't find coremanager. would you guys please give me a link?

hoptplugging means enabling/disabling cpu cores depending on cpu workload, so the limit you may set there means the maximum number of cpu cores that are allowed to be online at the same time. The number "5" which is displayed there is a bug, you have to move the slider to get the correct number displayed. just set it to the number of cores you want to use and press "Save & Exit", remember this will be reset to 3 on reboot, so you have to run the app after every reboot and press "Save & Exit". and the app does not display the actual settings, it only shows the values you set the last time.
Or you can take a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43409141&postcount=1086
i made a small script to apply settings automatically on boot, shouldn't be that hard to use.

[Kernel/Root] Root for the SM-A700F LL

Root method for lollipop for the SM-A700F THIS WILL TRIP KNOX. If you don't want to trip knox don't use this. If you do use it and whine you tripped knox because you didn't read ,we will all point and laugh at you.
Named it TrapKernel because well its not my normal HispAsian Kernel and I listened to a crap ton of Trap Music while doing it.
Thanks to @g.lewarne and his root method with his Unibase and Unikernel for the s6 , we finally have root after I ported it over to us. So be sure to thank him for his work.
What's included:
Auto installation of root and busy box
Kernel set to permissive
Otherwise stock
So here's the deal. Stupid simple.
1. Put Phone in Download mode
2. Open Odin
3. Connect Phone
4. Put Kernel in AP Slot
5.Flash it
6. Reboot and profit
Notes:
Download SuperSu from the Playstore. Its not included.
If at first it doesnt boot, hold the power button til it shuts off and reboot.
To fix wifi passwords= Open build.prop and change ro.securestorage=true to ro.securestorage=false
Download
Do NOT mirror this link. Period.
TrapKernel SM-A700F
Special thanks to:
@g.lewarne for the obvious reason of being awesome and his root method for the s6.
@XperiaNoobie & @nino64 for testing
@Chainfire for SuperSU

Heres the source with it set to permissive if anyone wants to fork it and build a kernel that allows root.

Hey after some research i found out that when your SE is set to permissive you lose the privilege of the private mode as it suggests that your phone isn't safe :/ You can use third-party apps so you can lock your apps though :/

I used System App Remover Root. There you can delete root apps.
I delete Smart Manager, and you also have to delete Security Log thing. Otherwise you will keep getting messages.
Now I only need to find out if I can just delete Knox stuff too whats in there.

Honor 7 root advantages

there is pretty decent cm 13 in dev thread ... actually i am using it and i am overall happy with it except some minor things.
for root:
there's so many things you can do with root, a few things important to me:
- root most likely also means you have custom twrp, with twrp you can completely backup your device to have a safe return to point
- better battery stats
- xposed with all its modules
- titanium backup to have individual app backups completely with all data
- freeze/disable/remove system apps
- cpu adjustments
- firewall
- proxy
- adaway
- tasker
xposed is one of best adventages of rooting. adblock, all cool mods etc...

Did you root using the XDA guide?
I just hate the fact that my data will be lost after unlocking the bootloader, that's the only thing that's stopping me
rooted like this:

- reboot to twrp

- no wipe
- done
( you can also look at digigoons pure emui rom which has aroma installer, where you can have several options with the best mods available for emui on honor 7 )

Yeah but you had to unlock the bootloader right?
For me most advantages about rooting/twrp are:
-Installing BusyBox
-Viper4Android (you'll need 3rd part music app to hear the changes, stock have DTS sound)
-Changing Calendar dates to my language like Ataasinngorneq (Monday) (Greenlandic is not an option in language settings)
-Xposed to use Softkeys Fade mod, double tap notification to turn off screen (after installing Xposed, booting takes time, be patient, took little over 5 mins)
-Installing Kernel Adiutor
I'm using stock PLK-L01 B370.
I always do it in that order.
Root access has become a must for all my devices
Here's my use/advantages of root access:
-First of all, I use Greenify that has the functionality of close every app in the background, even system apps. This with root access, Greenify can works in background while I'm doing something else with the phone. With this app, my battery last longer.
-I use custom recovery, witch allow me to flash mods that requires root. I use mods to increase the phone's performance and adblocker like AdAway, blocking ads also make browser loading faster and uses less data because I don't load any ad. Other useful mods are sound mods like Dolby Atmos or Viper, that boost sound volume and quality, increasing the experience of sound on our devices.
-Full control of the the phone. With root access I can use Kernel Auditor in order to monitor and control my phone's CPU, memory usage etc..
-Xposed Framework. I don't think it needs explaination, it would be also too long ?
-Use of substratum, with this app I can customize more the phone, change navigation bar, boot animation, system sounds.
-There are countless things you can do with root access, on XDA you will keep finding out new and amazing mods and things that requires root!

Mini Patch for B380/B360

Hey, it's a small patch for Honor 8
-it (should) make better battery life
-better performance and ram managament
-more space by removing some bloatware
-add 'double tap to wake/lock' function and option in settings
-host file added for ad blocking
-some build prop tweaks
its a zip package to flash by twrp, tell if you feel any difference and will be nice to see screenshots of benchmark before and after.
I DONT FORCE YOU TO TEST IT, YOU CAN DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
ITS FOR HONOR 8 FRD-L09, ANDROID 7 - B380, BUT SHOULD WORK ON B360

Yes of course will test how it will last the day tomorrow. Today I only got around 3h SOT.
The 90764 is without mod.
Used AnTuTu Benchmark
To me the figures are pretty much the same.
I rarely rely on benchmark figures and a slightly lower result doesn't bother me. I definitely can't tell any difference when using the phone.
The "without" is from after flashing restore-zip. Forgot to do benchmark before flashing the mod. Shouldn't make any difference. Right?
I had already removed the bloat myself so I can't tell if any apps were/would be removed.
Also with mod

DT2W works on I believe the Mate 8, but I'm not sure which touchscreen panel they use. Cypress and Synaptics are the ones that are common, the Honor 8 uses Huawei's own model and drivers. If you pull up the FRD kernel source on GitHub you can see the code.
hey Sir, it'll works only if I have TWRP on my phone? It means I need my phone rooted?

Yes, exactly.
Ps, guys, what about Endomondo app for example? Is it better? Battery life is better now or the same? Thank you for all answers. Nice to see you test it, as i see it works.

Franco Kernel and Nitrogen OS kenzo

I have installed Nitrogen OS 7.1.2 and i have flashed Franco Kernel from recovery, the problem is that when i open the FKUpdated app it say Uh oh! Your device is not supported by franco.Kernel.
How can i fix that and what is causing that?
After the flash via TWRP i lost root access
Thanks
Only Lineage OS is supported. Flash it manually. Also Franco kernel settings won't be applied on Nitrogen as Nitrogen f***s up with everything. You need to unroot and flash SuperSU for root.

Nitrogen os loads the default Nitrogen kernel governors like impulse. No other ROMs which I know don't have this problem. Nitrogen dev keeps changing things.

is there any good option for battery other than Nitrogen OS? i've tried LOS and it's great but some substratum themes do not work there.
Also can i flash the new ROM without wipind data to not lose all apps data?

Have you tried Umangs LineageOS? https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/unofficial-lineageos-substratum-radon-t3592853 Its very smooth, good battery life (for me at least) and have had no issues with substratum. I recently switched from Nos myself, and glad I did. Also if your upgrading from the same rom you don't need to wipe data unless told to

If it's a different rom then yes. You will need a clean install. But remember you don't have to wipe internal storage. The more you flash roms the quicker your restoring will get. But I do feel you. It's quite tedious
yeah it's kinda something i hate to do: thanks :highfive:
Take backup of the app's with titanium backup. Don't erase the internal memory, as it doesn't matter.
Ohh poor u guys, just because the cpu gov of some custom kernels doesn't implemented on rom, you blaming nos that much. I feel sorry for your stupidity, and recklessness.
Anyway, all you guys need to learn how scripts or something works on rom. Since nos rom use init.qcom.post_boot.sh as script commands, so basically there is a command that will force the cpu configuration back to stock at booting if the governor selected was interactive, also there are others configuration to that will be necessary at booting. In short, I just edited that script so nos will support custom kernel, tested using every custom kernel. Just make sure that u replace the file everytime you update rom.
Replace it in /system/etc and set permission to rwrr/0644. Oh, and remove .txt ext, I'm to lazy to make flashable zip.

Don't worry even if u replace it, It doesn't change anything on stock setting. Every thing will be normal.

Im on nitrogen os oreo with radon kernel and wondering why i get only 6-6.5 sot where i would get easily 8-10 hrs sot.
I just implementesd what you said copied the file without the txt extension with permissions as 0644.
You think it'll help increasing the battery backup as i would get easily more on other roms with this kernel, thanks in advanced anyway
Edit the max frequency for the big cluster is being limited to 1382mhz and not going to 1843 as on my kezo ill check the file
