So I just ordered my G5. Wondered, does it have manual video settings like the V10? I know it has manual shooter controls for the camera, but I wasn't sure about the video camera. If not, anyone heard of/found a way to get the V10 camera on the G5 yet? I was reading a post in another place that someone made the V10 camera app work on G4, so I wondered if the G5 has that function and if not, has anyone made a working version.
No

I don't think so. In an article by phonearena about lg g5 vs lg g4 it says "both smartphones can record videos in resolutions up to 4K, and both don't have manual video controls."

No it doesn't as the previous poster said. The reason I believe that it doesn't is that the V10 is a flagship primarily focused on Video & Multimedia users. Hence the "V" in it's name.

Ah okay. Thanks. Anyone made a work around yet to getting manual features onto the video feature?

Hey.
I am interested in the LG Optimus G but i read in a view reviews that the camera is kinda bad. Has that been fixed in updates/custom roms or is the camera just bad?

its a hardware issue, can't be helped much in software.
Is any cell phone camera (tiny lens/sensor) actually good?
On the lg v10 as we know there is a dual camera. Well im having an issue with it. When using the normal camera app its all good. But the thing is when i use apps like snapchat the selfie camera cant be switched from wide angle to normal so its always on wide angle and i cant get good selfies with it. I really need to find a way to be able to switch the selfie camera in use in external apps (mainly snapchat). If i anyone can help please do. Thanks! Btw im new here so sorry if im a noob.
You'll have to wait for the third party apps like Snapchat to build this into their software.

Off topic question, but how are the quality of the Snapchat photos with the LG v10? Thanks in advance.

I'm on the T-mob variant. Photos are good on both the front-facing and rear cameras. Videos from the front-facing camera is good, but the rear camera is just a bit choppy/low-framerate (but the actual image quality is still good unlike on my GS3 where the video was pixelated).
Both look garbage , front camera on Snapchat looks so fuzzy and has a lot of noise compared to original app..might trade my v10 for nexus 6p for this reason ..
I've noticed this too. It looks pretty bad. Luckily for me I really don't use snapchat.

I don't have an issue with Snapchat if I have the proper lighting. That's with any forward facing camera. Only issue I have is that the Snapchat software makes the image mirror but that's Snaochat's problem.

In my case, I'm suscribed in beta versions and looks great. In dark areas (night, low light) doesn't look good. Btw I like the wide angle sensor in Snapchat. For me, is better.
hey guys . recently i baught lg g5 and i m very happy with it. but yesterday i took some pics from both mobiles g4 and g5 and i found lg g5 image quality specially when cropped is ****. both images are fine but when we crop images lg g4 s image is very clear with much details and file size is higher then g5, while on g5 when i crop image it start blurring and i cant see it clearly like on g4.
LG and other ppl r saying that g5 camera is i?proved a lot then g4. since both got same lens , same hardware same 16 mp then why g4 image is with more details and higher file size then g5?
i found on forum that g5 post processing image makes it so smooth and it makes loss of details. i dont know this is hardware based or software based, i want to know can this post processing get fixed by next software update??
i like to take pics , i m not pro but what i check is take pic and zoom in and see details...LOL...
anyone can explain this issue would be awesome... thank you guys..

I've found that my G4 takes way better pics in low light and has better anti shake. There is a really visible difference.
Hi all,
just bought G5, mainly for it's cam. What I would like to know, is there any way, modded, rooted (...) to get more options for video recording (like exposure or ISO) ? Or, when shooting timelapse, a way to setup image exposure, that would be amazing.
I know there's a way to get 60 fps in 1080, but can't find anything on this topic. Any suggestion appreciated!
Thanks

No manual control for video (yet?).
Regarding 60fps, I created a mod for rooted G5 here:

If you are not rooted, you need to look for the V10 ported camera.

Thank you for the answer. Do you think hardware is that good, that maybe we'll see mod's one day?
I wanted to buy DJI OSMO Mobile 6, but it seems that it lacks support even for S22 Ultra, so I suppose they will never make it work with S23 Ultra.
So what else can I buy?

See, it depends on what you really need, I actually am using that currently for my s23 ultra, but only because I just needed something with stabilisation and something to hold my phone for still shots. It's sad the hardware doesn't work directly with the camera app, they have their own which is pretty lackluster, however all the features worked related to their product in their app.

Can you specify what 'all the features worked related to their product in their app' means? I thought that S23 Ultra is not supported at all?
Is it possible to shoot 4k 60fps stabilized video?
Also is it possible to shoot photo (not video) panorama handheld?
Can you please post some video on which is visible how stable the phone is?
Thanks.
You misunderstood me, the features that they advertise do work, but most of it is because it's all done with their tripod + app. That's also the problem however, since their app is pretty lackluster, yes it'll do everything they said it can, but you have no control or options, for example I can use only 1080p 60fps recording. What I'm trying to say is that it can do all the stuff they say but you're only limited to what they offer in their app (Device support, yes it'll support any phone theoretically, however the options are limited to the support of the device), which isn't a lot, and you lose out all the stuff from the stock camera app. However if you just need a tripod that stabilises then it does that regardless of any further interaction, works out of box since it all happens on the tripod itself, however you'll need the app anyway to update the firmware of the tripod. I'll show you some photos from in the app when I get home from work.

Oh I see. I need a tripod with stabilization.
I think I'll buy it from Amazon to see how it works. I can return it if I don't like it.
I'd appreciate if you post some photos and videos.
Thanks.

Exactly what I did, bought it from there, decided that it fulfills the basic necessities and kept it, like you said you can always return it. In terms of stabilisation itself it's actually not too bad in my opinion, however this is my first one ever so I can't say anything more besides that. And yeah I will.
