[Q] The problem of GPS and firmware "I9000XWxxx". How to decide?

Tell me why with firmware "I9000XWxxx" not working GPS?

This is a very very bad...
And there is not any hope will solve this problem?
I just need a language that is not in the standard firmware
You need to replace the correct lib's & bin / File to fix gps on the I9000 builds.. if there 2.1 this it's fine, we don't have the file for 2.2 currently to fix it..

I installed the firmware I9000XWJM8, stock modem.bin and stock kernel. GPS does not work (everything else works fine).
Then install files from thread "[Q] update.zip from JI5 GPS files" or thread "[FIX] GPS files ripped from leaked JI2, flashable zip" (forum does not insert links)
GPS is still not working
I no longer know what to do....
Moved to the Q&A sub forum.
As far as the GPS goes, make sure you are using the matching GPS libs.

Unfortunately, I do not know so well Android.
Therefore, ask for help.
Can someone give the necessary files for the GPS from the "stock" firmware?
The fact that the firmware "I9000XWxxx" is not the same file structure for "GPS".
In the archives - the files that seem to be responsible for GPS.
LIB only one - "libgps.so"
BIN is located in the folder "gpsd" and his name is "glgps_samsungJupiter"
Looks like I found a solution to the problem
And so it is very easy
Naturally need "root"
Files from the archive, to lay the appropriate folders. One file with the replacement of "libhardware_legacy.so" (because of him and then had a problem). Reboot. Its all
Tested on Samsung Vibrant with CODE_I9000XWJM8, CSC_I9000OXEJM1 , modem.bin from T959UVJI4, stock kernel

From building lg's from aosp the fm radio will need parts from the bcm4325 stack (both in kernel and userspace bt libs) and it is also embedded in framework and you will need the apk(s) too. Not just a simple copy the libs & apk.

Okay, thanks for you help. I'll work with a kernel dev and try to get this running on the Optimus S.

[Q] - Can anyone provide a clean /system dump from stock Gingerbread ROM?

I was wondering if anyone could provide a clean /system dump for the stock Gingerbread ROM update. I would need a an English version. I would like to try to port it to the CDMA device, Optimus S.
I cannot extract the files from the official downloads in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140862. If you could tell me how to extract that would be just as good.
Thank you!
You need simply unyaffs2 to extract the contents of the system.mbn from downloaded .kdz file, when success you have all the contents of the rom - no language specific files,
its compiled in APKs, JARs and libraries. to get a gsm rom to work on a CDMA phone you
need cdma libraries at least, possibly another phone-,sms and other apps because all these files are compiled for GSM.
Uploading V20E for Europe. It is ready for kitchen modifications and untouched

Ok, I learned something new! Thanks! I thought the .mbn was some special format that was unreadable by PC, lol

U can use file explorer with system acces (es file explorer is what I use). App is in system/app folder and it's easy to extract it and push in your ROMs system. I'm not sure if it will work though
Hi again,
I just tried the option with flashing the old htc fm radio app into the system/app folder. From what I've seen it doesn't work.
I extracted the apk from a previous backup with the stock 4.0.3 rom. I didn't find any additional libs or anything but after rebooting the app didn't show up.
Also on a AOSP Rom as CM10.2 it is not very likely to get a HTC/Sense app running. Therefore I looked around and found another option: thr Spirit FM app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059296
But here as well I wasn't lucky and didn't get any positive results...
If anybody has better luck or experience with the Spirit FM let me know, I'd be happy to have a simple FM radio back

As the first set of instructions state, "GS5 T-Mobile sound mod" isn't a flashable file. It has to be extracted, the modded media file in inside.
The second set of instruction have a Dropbox link to flashable zips

Sorry for the late response.
I can't suggest one of the current links to try being this mod was created for KitKat. If you have flashed one of the files with success let me know and I will post a conformation.
I don't have Lollipop on a GS5 to test. If you provided me with the appropriate file, I will see if I can mod it for Lollipop.

If you choose the moderate file, then all the others will work. Thanks for being one of the testers.
Op has been updated.
Nice find but I seem to find even the moderate zip over blare the speakers capabilities.
It truly sounds like it would blow it in time .
They should have just been able to put a better speaker on the s5

Volume
Awesome mod, I love it. By chance is there a way to balance out the volume between the 2 so the back speaker doesn't overpower the weak front speaker? I don't really need volume, most of the places I watch movies are super quiet.
