Hello guys,
This is my first post on this forum.
I have 2 questions:
1. How is the overall performance on your onyx ?
2. I have lag when unlocking my phone.
Does anyone knows how to fix this ?
Thanks

Known bugs on oxygen os...either flash a custom kernel and improve performance or change rom
Which kernel do you recommend ?

Both (blu.spark and Boeffla) are good. If you need overclocking, use Boeffla (up to 2.57ghz OC)
Thanks I don't plan to overclock so I will go with bluspark

No and there likely won't be one until there is source code released. Also, they are busy working out the bugs/issues still.
thanks...
Id the past, I'm using chainfire3D with galaxy s5360 for better gaming. Is there any option like that for kitkat installed Galaxy s2?

For the galaxy s2, you can boost your gaming experience by using a custom kernel like DorimanX and overclocking your device. Play around with the kernel settings to get optimal performance for your device. TRIM you devices with a TRIM enabled kernel which will boost your phone's read and write speed.

Thanks for advice but I really don't know anything about kernels. Can you help me on that? Now, I'm using resurrection Remix Kitkat rom. Is there any kernel compatible with that? Or what should I do? Should I go back to 4.0 or smth for best gaming-performance experience?

Try flashing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/kernel-dorimanx-jb-4-4-4-t3123487
Install the latest version and see how it goes. If something goes wrong, just reflash the ROM.
As for stock ROM, you may get slightly better gaming performance if you do switch back, but IMO it's not worth it. You do lose a lot of features on newer android versions.

Everything you ever need to know about trim: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ives/rom-brickbug-aftermath-speeding-t2843238
Details of how to trim is already included in my thread. Just use trimmer from google play store and tick all three partitions then select trim.

Hey guys! I tried many roms but still I need your views on the most balanced rom for performance and battery life.
Hope you guys will help.
3.1.4 with a custom kernel
But there is a con
I want high frame rate video recording, even after OnePlus fixed it, it is bad in low light. That's why still using sultan's rom.

I never took the time to really test differents setting with boeffla. Sultan's was really good on OOS 2.
Out of the box, the Blackreactor on the lasts versions was really good.

If stability and battery are the main considerations, would you advise using one of these kernels with miui or staying with the stock kernel?

That strongly depends on your usage pattern. But custom kernels are made to perform better than stock kernels. Every kernel has its own characteristics, some are performance biased and some biased towards battery savings. But for everyday usage I'd suggest a kernel which can balance both performance and power savings.
As far as kernels for mido which have MIUI support, I'd suggest Stormguard kernel as it is pretty well balanced.
But in the future if you plan on flashing a custom ROM then go for Franco or ElectraBlue kernel.

Tbh i don't think that miui should be used with a custom kernel, cuz the rom is already optimised. And the kernel in made to work efficiently, so in a word no tbh.
But mann why are you not trying out the custom roms if you are having an unlocked bootloader? I mean there lies a whole world of awesomeness and performance on the other side of rom world

Only because I have a problem with custom ROMs, but not with MIUI ROMs, where the phone goes into a bootloop, apparently from overheating. If I could solve that, I would certainly use custom ROMs.

If you want to like prevent overheating, then what you can do is like underclock the kernel. Setting the max frequency to something around 1.3 to 1.0 ghz will greatly help with the temps.

I like miui but I'm annoyed by the bug Wich causes the CPU to get stuck at 1689 MHz till I reboot.
I would like to flash a custom kernel to get rid of this or just find the fix.
Stormguard is ok but it makes webpages crash am trying to find a stable miui kernel

Underclock kills the performance. Might even kill the cpu, might*
Hey guys !Whats better than newbie dev with a the most troublesome device but best device of 2018 ?
Yee its poco lol.
I tried almost all popular custom roms+kernel combos !Each of them are equally great and i loved them all ,some of yall already have made a custom rom/kernel ur daily driver ! However i consider myself as an idiot who wants it all in one , the very forbidden term best rom+kernel.
Sadly i m not here to present u that 'best'.However i can assure u this will drastically improve the experience of any u on regardless.
This is a combination of an abandoned poco project's thermal(that was know for its performance)+updated stock kernel with negligible tweaks to affect compatibility of you device.:victory:
The thermals were infamous for heating which is ---------------------------------FIXED
Stock Kernel infamous for slow charging------------------------------------------- FIXED
Stock Thermal infamous for low performance in heavy duty games------------FIXED

This is interesting. Let's see where this goes. ?. One question. Does this kernel run any scripts after boot?
Does this supported on Stock MIUI Rom or only on custom roms?

Thanks for the reply. Will be trying this out and reporting back. If it's based off of the latest stock kernel, should be fun. Keep up the good work. Do you by any chance have a link to the source code? (It's ok if that's not available)
