Differences between the BluSpark kernel and the Boeffla kernel? - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It wouldn't be wise to differentiate between these 2 kernels. Both of the developers gave their best in their respective kernels. But there definitely are some differences. What are they? And which one will be giving a better battery life?

I am currently using AICP with BluSpark. Seems good, but I am not really satisfied with the battery life I used to have without the Xposed framework. Anyway, now it is running smooth but I can't use apps like Snapchat which requires your phone NOT to be rooted

Both kernels are very smooth and good . Blu spark is more oriented towards better battery life. Boeffla is more performance oriented while keeping it close to stock. If you are more to tweaking kernel setting, Boeffla will be good choice as it lets you customize almost everything. But you must know what you are doing.
There is no comparison between two, try both of them and see which one suits you better.

Blu.spark is for a smooth system and better battery.
Boeffla can overclock and supports profiles. Battery is also really good (I'm on 1h SOT and still have 87% left)

Thanks for everyone's input think I have an idea wich kernel I'm gonna go with.

You can use Snapchat regardless. I have a custom ROM and Kernel along with Xposed and I can still use Snapchat

Get the appropriate unistaller zip from here.
Flash it, wipe cache & dalvik, reboot, login to SC, once logged in, reboot back to recovery and flash xposed framework zip again, wipe cache & dalvik, reboot.
Everything should be fine.
Remember, if you log out from SC , you'll have to do all this again.

It says that there is an error and then shows a link. When I go to the site, there some reasons of why it could be happening is happening. One of them was that if your device is rooted the app wouldn't work

Greenify!

I am sure many of you already know abt this wonderful app.. This thread is for those who don't know abt it!
It is definitely not my app, but I stumbled across this app referenced here in xda.. it puts any user apps in hibernation until you open them.. reducing background processes from what i can tell you guys so far..obviously every device is different as is every user experience, but i think its worth a shot..
here is the link

There is also a donate version which lets you put system apps for hibernating as well!
Here's the link for that..

I have been having great results with the 4.4.2 roms Omni, Render CM 11 and AoCP 7. I am running renders CM11 right now. Getting AuTuTu of 12112 and no FC. they are all good just different features.
I am also getting decent performance with 4.4.2. Sometimes battery life not good but overall manageable.

Try greenify.. And if its the battery you have got with the phone.. I guess a battery after 2 years is bound to give lesser battery life.. If possible try getting it changed or get another battery and use this app.. I can assure you that you will get an improved battery life..

Well I just limit all the options that are listed as safe to be limited. You could just use the default settings of Amplify.

going back to lolipop

i deiced to go back to lollipop since in marshmallow i can't writ to SD card and can't record voice call tried a lot of application but no use and i can't find a way around to do that
so what is the best Rom for lollipop that i can use
Personally I'd recommend stock LP with mods like Xposed, LSpeed... That or Existence LP. Personally I'd say stock cus there are usually issues with the custom builds for me. Or deodexed stock with some small mods attached which is floating around dev section.. try some out... EDIT scratch LSpeed unless your willing to spend a lot of reboots trying to find the right settings. I recommend downloading Kernel Auditor and reducing zram to 0 and swapiness to 0. On a 3gb ram phone we shouldn't need such things and I find it causes a lot of micro lags for me.

Even I was facing problems with MM, so went back to LP.
I'm running Google Style v3 ROM. It's light weight and super stable (can be further slimmed down to around 400MB)!
Throw in Xposed modules like: N-ify, GravityBox, Lolistat, LPThemer for better usage/looks. I've installed Pexocam as well.

I'm so tired of Marshmallow. There are a lot of mods that will not work on 6.0.1; so my D6503 will stay indefinitely in 5.1.1. Build 264 is great.

Which ROM?

I'm using a CM ROM from needrom which apparently is no longer maintained/updated. So I'm looking for something else.
Which one would you guys recommend?
I don't like MIUI. I want a CM or some variation of it which is maintained and updated (bugfixes, security). I prefer stability over performance or latest bliss.
Thanks.
