Anyone know how to turn off high temperature thermal mitigation on the LG G5 T-Mobile version? This screen dim is driving me absolutely insane!!!

Completely different architecture, and our device has no problems hotplugging in the second core when needed. If anything, it fires up the second core TOO soon and eats battery. Which is why airghi has a ton of patches that affect when CPU1 gets onlined... I've been working on cherry-picking some of them already.
Actually, those tweaks won't even work when the kernel is handling hotplugging of the second core.
I monitored the cores with system panel and noticed the second core comes alive just by touching the screen.

Yup, as I said - it tends to fire up a little too rapidly.
The second core being enabled actually saves battery life. Differences between voltage and frequency (clock speed) are not linear, so by using two cores at 250mhz it uses less power than one at 500mhz. Using two cores is a good thing.
Why there is not dev try to plug different governor for user?

I may have this wrong but I have read in earlier posts that the power managment on the tegra 2 is only set to work with the perfomace governor. It was tried with the power save governor but that had no effect and was actually more power hungry. I will try to find those refrences when I finish work.

thx!
Tegra 2 has a built in hardware governor which is pretty good so there is no need to install software governors, in fact, installing a governor other than performance will impede performance and/or battery life by interfering with the on chip governor.
I believe the Tegra 2 drivers control the CPU speed. It overrides the governor. Performance and powersave are the simplest governors.

In was just looking into this. I'm on neutrino, and no matter what kernel I seem to have, my CPU is locked to the max frequency. My battery life has been brutal and the phone gets too hot even after sending an email!
What is wrong?
Sorry for the ETA, and but I should be more clear..
When I open setcpu or antutu cpu master, and both report the highest selected cpu frequency constantly no matter what the conditions are.
Is the fact that I'm running a java application to control max frequency interfering with tegra 2's governor? Although I've see screen shots of atrix users in setcpu with the freq being not-the-max-freq.
Thanks for any help!
Note: I only ever have one over clock app installed at a time.

Nevermind. Just installed milestone 6 and it's working fine.

Is there an app that will auto-switch your governor/min-max freq, say when the battery drops below a certain level or when you are plugged into power?

Yes there is! I would recommend taking a look at the app SetCPU https://play.google.com/store/apps/...rce=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=setcpu. I have used SetCPU since my Droid 1 was my main phone to do exactly what your looking for (I.E screen of minimum frequency, charging set a particular governor, less then 20% battery powersave governor, etc.). Let me know if you still have questions.

Most excellent! I'll take a peek.
EDIT: Well that is just the bee's knees! Great app! I also found SetXperia which does a few of the same things (not nearly as much) but also allows me to undervolt. The two in combo look ideal. Thanks again!
Hi guys, im getting bad battery life on this phone. Surfing the net and listening to music for about 40mins uses 30% of my battery. Is this because my initial charge was not 8h?

No, try turning off NFC. Bluetooth, put stamina mode on, put restrict performance on, auto brightness.
If this doesn't work you have a defective unit

Will try. Thank you for the suggestion

Don't do that stuff, dude. Stamina Mod+Restrict Performance ruins the phone. You might as well buy a Moto G. Just give it a few days, and see how it goes.
Try my power saving tips here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768544
Lol where did you hear that
Xperias with problems are %90 of the time defective unit
I got 2hrs of browsing and lost only %34 battery

Go into settings->power management->battery usage and tell us what the top three battery users are. The top should almost always be your screen. If something else is at the top then you know what your problem is.
Try to re-install the latest firmware I guess?
Can someone fully explain to me stamina mode
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Stamina mode is something that extends your device sleep time by disabeling services when your screen is off
it contains features like restrict performance to even furthur your battery

I cant lower cel standby. I've tried everything. I'm rooted on Clean Rom currently. Need help.!

Did you disable the wifi calls?, what carrier do you have?
Verizon. We don't have wifi calling.
Sent from my SM-G925V using XDA Free mobile app
this is an easy one, change carrier.
When I installed the ROM Extreme Syndicate, my Battery improved 25% therefore I would reccomend It over CleanROM. Also if you use greenify that will help too. Other things I did is I lowered the screen brightness and I always have power saving mode enabled. Can't tell you much else.
My screen isn't really a bother. I hate to use power saver as it always down my performance to much to my liking. I'm just trying to figure out how to lower cell standby. I do like CleanRom. Send a picture of your battery usage.?

As the picture shows, cell standby is a big drain.. So is android system, however I don't know how to reduce cell standby. If you look at the details under android system, you can see which processes are going on
