May be your adb n fastboot drivers aren't installed properly.. Read the official page of sony of unlocking the bootloader properly.. Its very clear:thumbup: and for help about installing drivers, google it or read stickies threads in neo forum..

re install the adb driverss.. then it ll work
got the same error fr me when i first tried to unlock the bootloader

Cant unlock fastboot either. Actually cant install the fastboot driver, thats what the problem is. I tried a few different methods but its always the same.
Steps i taken:
Windows 8
Install JAVA and ANDROID SDK.
Updated to most recent usb drivers
Downloaded fastboot inf.
reloaded windows with the "install unsigned drivers" option enabled
And i always end up with an unrecognized device in the Devices menu.
Basically it wont "find" the driver, when i point to it.
---------- Post added at 10:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:48 AM ----------
Finally i tried right clicking the driver and manually installing. After it warned me that it is not digitally signed, it installed. I went and tried to reupdate the unknown device i was getting instead of the fastboot device, chose to pick from the list and the Android Phone category was there.
Installed the device Android Bootloader Interface.
Went back to command prompt and run the "fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version", but im getting no response from the phone.
Any clues?
Any help please?
Any moderator reading the thread, willing to reply? Is it a known problem not being able to install the driver?
Is there a workaround?

Thanx. Do you have a link for the package that works?
Guy graciously updated his link, but that driver still wont load. Manually updating the unknown S1boot - Fastboot device results to no go.. :crying:

Sure,
Installed the JAVA/Android SDK and updated the drivers.
Turning off the device, pressing the menu button (rightmost button as facing the device) while plugging in the USB cable.
Device is found and registered in the System Manager but without drivers. S1 Boot Fastboot (or something).
Manually trying to install the drivers by pointing it to the directory of the Android usb drivers, to no avail.
Also tried installing different drivers like the ADB ones you adviced me to do, but same thing, windows searches the directory and subdirectories but cant find any compatible driver. Driver signature is turned off.
Also tried different USB ports, just to make sure im not using any USB3.0
Im using the Asus Maximus IV Gen3/Genz motherboard, on Windows8 Pro.
I hope we can get somewhere, its been months im trying to hack into the phone. Im really sick of how slow it performs

The thing is, if windows arent able to "detect" the driver-set you are pointing at, then you need to "enforce" to use it:
1) Update Driver Software
2) Browse my computer for driver software
3) ****** LET ME PICK FROM A LIST OF DEVICE DRIVERS ON MY COMPUTER *****
use the ADB drivers for the NEO V and it should work.
Hi there
I have seen some posts where users are having difficulty connecting Xperia to their PC or ADB. Therefore, I am writing this guide to help you all.
The guide was prepared using Windows 7 Ultimate but should work with Windows XP and Windows 8.
Firstly, Sony uses a different driver for their Xperia devices and therefore, sometimes you are unable to install drivers for your devices especially for ADB commands.
IF YOU ARE LUCKY
There are few ways to get around to install drivers for your device. The most convenient and easy is you plug in your device and wait for automatic detection of your device. Make sure you have USB connected as MTP in MY XPERIA in SETTINGS of your phone. The device drivers would be automatically installed by Windows update.
METHOD
If suppose you can not install your drivers, connect your xperia and then on your PC, go to My computer > Properties>Device Manager.
You should see an undetected hardware with a yellow exclamation mark over it. Open it and click on update my drivers. Then choose GOOGLE DRIVERS by choosing hard-drive. This should install the drivers for you. If this doesnot work. Try the attachment with the post where the drivers are modified to work with Sony Xperia Devices.
Follow the same steps but this time choose the attachment folder to search for drivers. It might say, the drivers are not verified. Just Ignore it and carry on installing them. You will need to unzip these files.
IF suppose you do not see any exclamation mark while you connect your xperia. Just go to control panel and add new hardware. Select, I will choose my device and then install from hard-disk. Select the folder where you have unzipped the files and you are good to go. The name of new hardware is not important as windows will read the drivers files and install drivers for Xperia.
This will install all drivers for your device. If there are two or more drivers while installing them. Redo the steps and install all of them individually.
Suppose your ADB still doesnot work, then
FOR ADB DRIVERS :
Download the ADB Universal Drivers and connect your device. Then hit install. The ADB drivers will be automatically detected and installed.
Further, if these tricks fail, you can delete the unknown driver from your control panel and then try finding it again by using refresh button(scan for new hardware changes) in device manager.
Another trick is to click on unknown drivers and delete them. Connect your phone to the PC and restart your phone. Then scan for new hardware in device manager. The drivers should be installed for your device.
If still there are some problems, I will try to help you out.

nope, windows 8+ is different
I'm getting a lot of problems with drivers for this device, seems Sony's guys did it just to say:
"Ok, now this device got some drivers, lets play poker :"
It's serious. To get ADB driver working was a lot of work, just got it working because our friend Ashu1307 posted this link for me ( maybe it can work for ya= http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552505)
Ok, that's nice since it was the only driver that's not working on windows 7.
I said windows 7
Now I'm on windows XP, tryied 2 machines already, and this goddam piece of **** don't have any driver working. Nothing, neither MTP, nor fastboot nor ADB nor flashmode (mass storage works, the ones I've quoted are detected, but don't work)
PC companion is another thing I'm hating. First I have to download the Web Installer, 27MB of nothing, since after the download it has to update because the sony's website offers outdated file. THen I download support zone, which detects phone but not the model.
What do I do? I'm going weird just about to break this phone on the wall, I never had so much problems on motorola's or samsung's or enen old sony ericsson's devices.
Before,my PC used to display an error whenever I tried to transfer files from my pc to my Xperia Sola. But after changing the kernel,I could transfer files with ease. So,do you think the problem in the kernel is related to this error?
I never had problem with drivers.
Trying another computer, still having the problems, I use the DoomKernel, do you think it has to do with it ?
Hi XDA Community,
I want to flash this Kit Kat ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603396
At the moment I'm running the Enigma ROM v4.1. on Stock Sony Kernel (at least I think thats the kernel I flashed most recently). In the Settings it shows following Kernel Version:
3.0.8+
[email protected]) )
#1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 13 11:51:07 2013
Now my problem is that I can't get into recovery to flash the right kernel and the ROM afterwards. Fast- and Flashmode aren't working too (Loosing connection after a few Seconds, I can't even reinstall drivers. Windows says that there aren't any drivers into the fastboot driver package I downloaded today. I downloaded several ones, even a full fastboot driver package for almost all devices).
I have all necessary Data on my phone as well as on my PC, I only need to get them together... I tried to install CWM Recovery via Recover X and the CWM Manager App. But there is no Recovery on my phone (tried to reboot by Terminal Emulator Command into Recovery, only got a Error that there isn't a Recovery on the phone)
I can acces my phones storage by Using MyPhoneExplorer and I can acces these data with ES Data Explorer on my Phone. I'd basicly need an .apk file wich flashes the Kernel whilst running the phone. I think that this can't be possible but maybe someone has a workaround (maybe installing the Kernel onto another partition to not affect the running system or something like that).
The Reason for me to fllash another ROM is that theres basicly nothing working on my phone at the Moment. I can't do any downloads on it (Even Apps from Google Play, it only displays a dashed line where usually the progress of the Download appears). Allmost all preinstalled Apps are not working proper too (SMS crashes imedeately after start, having the same Issue with Calls, the alarm Clock crashes when it should ring (I only get a Notification, no Sound/Vibration. When I try to disable it, it crashes. It's going on like that for more Apps...).
The Important Apps such as SuperUser, Settings and Terminal Emulator are working. I have Root rights and my BL is unlocked (was able to look it up by typing *#*#7378423#*#*). Enabling USB Debugging is possible to.
Do anybody of you have any Idea to flash the new Kernel (I'd use the CM11 Kernel with working Recovery as mentioned in the Thread I linked up there)?
Kind Regards and thanks in advance

You not realy a hacker are ya?
To begin with, untill you had your flash/fastboot mode working don't attampt install anything, because when things get sour, and they will, you will be left with a brick.
You can install CWM recovery from here.
Now to get to the root of your problem, what was changed since the last time you have used flash/fastboot mode?
Is it the same computer/OS you have been using before or maybe you have made a foolish thing like upgrading to windows 8 or above?
I only changed ROM and Kernel. I did no Hard- and Software changes on my PC. Used and Using Windows 7 64Bit Home Premium Service Pack 1. Hopefully it won't ever be necessary to do that foolish thing with "upgrading" to win8 :fingers-crossed:
I don't know last kernel with working Fastboot anymore. The only thing I know that I had been running Paranoid Android (Android 4.1.2, don't know the Version Number).
I tried to install the Drivers on 2 other PCs, running Win8.1 64Bit and Win7 32Bit, as well, nothing worked. Maybe I need to reinstall Windows all the Way from the beginning to clear all drivers and that stuff. As this would take really long I'd prefer a "normal" solution for sure.
The Link you posted is for locked BL. Will it work with Unlocked BL too?
Thanks for your answer, I hope I could give you some further information wich gives you the opinion to give me a solution.
EDIT:
My PC just reminded me that theres another Info that may could help:
Sony PC Companion get's that there is a Sony phone plugged in. It can't get further information so it notifiys me that My (zero) is connected. If I want to sync anything It's not possible because it can't install any drivers or any other necessary software.

Maybe try to reinstal PC Companion though I am not sure it installs fastboot drivers.
Did you install the drivers from flashtool drivers folder(Xperia P, flash mode, and fasboot drivers)
I tried to reinstall Fastboot drivers because I had troubles with normal fastboot flashing (sending boot failed after displaying the speed of transmission). Sorry I totally forgot to mention this... My Problem with reinstalling drivers is that I can open the window "properties" of S1 Fastboot, but I can't install drivers (I'm navigating to my,downloaded FB drivers but Windows only says that there are no drivers in the folder. They are the right ones and I didn't forget to unzip them etc.).
Don't know how I can install them alternatively so I tried to find a App wich installs the Recovery so I could flash Kernel and Rom there.
Tried to flash Recovery with your linked .batch, did not worked to. It only displays loads of Error messages. Can't upload the log at the moment. If needed I'll do round about 5PM GMT+1.
I don't think that PC companion contains FB drivers but I'll reinstall it.
I'm not sure if I installed the drivers of Flashtool and as I'm not on my PC atm I can't look it up. Will do that too when I'm back at home.
Thanks for all that tips, I think the Flashtool drivers will be the key...
To install CWM you need to have USB debugging enabled in developer options.
I know that I need to enable it. It was enabled when I tried to install the recovery. I can push data on my phone with my phone explorer, it needs usb debugging activated and it worked so it wasn't the reason for failing of recovery install.
I'll try to install the drivers of flashtool in a few minutes, hopefully it works then.
It failed. Still no FB- or Flashmode for more than a few seconds. I saw that there is a TWRP App. It's not compatible with SXP, but with Z, Z1, T and S Xperia Phones. As they have other hardware as the P I'll probably brick my device with trying to flash one of them. Is there another way to install any Recovery without using FB? ADB Tools could work too for that right? Or could I flash a Kernel with working Recovery by a Terminal Emulator command?
Installing Recovery with the CWM Recoverymanager .apk doesn't work because the SXP is not officially supported by CWM.
instal recoverx from playstore
After successfully flashing my Xperia Z Ultra 6833 with the GPe rom, it is working really well.
But, I can't seem to get any driver to be accepted for ADB.
In device manager, under Other Devices, I see a device called 6806_GPe with no driver installed.
I've downloaded drivers from Sony for all types of Z Ultra (but when I go to update driver and try to use them I am simply told that "windows cannot find a driver for your device". I've also tried to install drivers using the Flashtool driver utility, but still no good.
I need to use ADB to correct an issue but am stuck, can some tell me where to get the correct driver please?
Im using Win7 64-bit.
many thanks
Andy.
Maybe you must change build.prop too c6833 .

Many thanks for the replies, its very much appreciated.
Unfortunately, I had already tried all of these drivers, so I tried again (this time using a VPN and different browser just in case anything was caching). Still no good I'm afraid.
Just to ensure I'm not going completely mad, I right click on the 6806_GPe device in Device manager under "Other Devices" and select "Update driver". There's no other way to do this is there?
regards
Andy.
OK, sorted it.
Ended up forcing the driver by picking the device (Android Device - Sony ADB) rather than giving it a folder.
thanks all.
So for the last few days I have been trying to get the bootloader unlocked, with no progress.
What ever drivers fir adb and fastboot I use it doesn't install it. There is always a "other device" icon with an android sub-icon. If I force install android fastboot or any other adb driver be it of Asus , nexus or any other it doesn't work.
Is there a issue in windows 7?
I cannot switch to win 8 so is there a working way to get this done?
Right click my computer>manage>device manager>find yellow marked device and update driver automatically.
That doesn't work generally, win 7 users are facing this issue.
I have been trying to figure out what to do myself, finally got it working but the method was a bit of self discovery and weird. Win8 user won't have any issue with this.
dont post untill u dont know its place, cant u see Q&A section
but u got blind and posted under dev threads, whats wrong with you.
Get the thread deleted.
There is already a well narrated post in General section about rooting / unlocking bootloader... You need to disable driver signing from boot... Check there
PDANet
Install PDANet both on PC and Mobile. It will solve your problem regarding Windows 7 driver. I was also facing such problems and at last PDANet installation helped me to unlock the bootloader. Afterwards you can delete PDANet from mobile/PC.
Dude there is a nicer way to say things, I am not blind or anything is wrong with me, yes it was a mistake posting it here, which I did from mobile, but still you could have said the point a bit nicer... How do you feel right now like a boss?

That doesn't work, trust me I had tried everything.... Pdanet drivers as well...
Ultimately I did it though...
There is a issue with device driver parameters, which is acceptable by windows 8 but not by windows 7

before the thread is deleted, it'd be nice if you can post in detail how you solved the win7 driver issue. would help a lot of others too, i reckon. i'm also on win7 and contemplating on unlocking bootloader, rooting etc...
Basically a normal install of pdanet driver is enough, it wont install the drivers for the phone directly . You have to do it manually though, so here is the way : The phone will be detect as unknown device or something like that. You will need to goto device manager then select the device and then install driver manually, choose from a list of devices, search for nexus fastboot device driver and install that. Voila youre done.
