Need Correct MCU Please! - MTCB Software Development

I think I flashed an older MCU onto my RK3188, 800x480 radio - it originally came with a KLD6 MCU - I've tried the v.2.85 in this forum, but when I flash I get errors, like the file is only partially flashed - amplifier is not mapped to front button any longer, plus a few more odd things - any help with either a different MCU or insight into why I can't get the one I am trying to flash correctly would be very much appreciated - using Malaysk's newest ROM FYI -

Did you try KLD6 v.2.83:
https://yadi.sk/d/tzytALDuktqmu

Thanks so much - I have tried v2.83 - it's running now, which corrected strangeness like the radio tuner not being able to grab a station, and no sound output at all - I now have tuner back, but button for amplifier is still not mapped correctly - every MCU I've tried gives me errors when i flash it, whether I do it through recovery or the System Update feature - basically it seems like there are 3 or 4 different files to be flashed, and the first few abort -the only file that flashes sucessfully is the image file - wondering if there is anything I'm doing wrong on my end that is preventing the MCU from flashing corrrectly -

[Q] Root will me wifi, Now: Stuck installing ClockworkMod Recovery to install new ROM

Hello everyone,
first of all, I am new on this Android world, so, any basic question I post, I ask for understanding in advance.
Trying to root my Viewpad 7 (Froyo 2.2), I come across to GingerBreak, I run it and it sucessfully root but it killed my Wifi (that's all connectivity I used, I have no mobile data plan)
as I wanted also to try new rooms, and flash a new one seems to be a only solution for the wifi problem (I have try factory settings without success). I come across Rom manager,
I download and install ROM_Manager_Premium_v4.3.2.3.apk from SD
and download CleanViewpad7_signed_v1.0.zip to my sd card
If I try to flash ClockworkMod Recovery from ROM manager, i get:
"Error while downloading from the server. Please make sure you have a stable internet conection ..." but that's no possible as I have no WIFI in my viewPad7 after root!
If I try to Install ROM from SD card (from Rom manager), the device restore in "Recovery mode" of "Andoid system recovery <3e>"; and it brakes with message "E:signature verification failed".
I have donwload it from several servers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168562), and all give the same error mesaage
I try to search for manual mode to install clockwork (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755379) but I can not find a way to go.
"wipe data/factory reset" inicializate the device, but it doesn't help with the wifi. it keet saying scaning->disconected->scanning->disconected ... (and of course, my wifi conection is set to remember with the password memorized)
In the cofig menu, i can see:
baseband: PR3.7_128
Kernel Apps_2.6.32.9
Build 4027_3_16R
In the FTM mode:
SWver=3.16R
Model:FM6-0001
HWVer:106
what can I do?, I just have a 7inch no apps-no connection beautifull "thing"
More: I have try two other Rooms:
EUViewpadV1.4.zip
Viewpad7 Stock EU 2.2 +rooted+CWM.zip
nothing works, signature verification failed

Okay, you willl be fine - just need to flash & restore it first to factory/stock ROM first, then root it and go from there - here are the steps that I would suggest:
First, save anything important on your mSD card if you need to, perhaps to a USB drive and/or computer's hard drive.
Next, use this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260463 to download - for the stock ROMs from Viewsonic.
The newest one is for newer ITE hardware VPAD7 (and, I believe yours is NOT if you could get CleanViewpad v1.0 to boot up & activate the screen - and a number of users are having trouble with wifi ....) To override that signature verification error message that you get, look into CWM (I'm using v3.0.2.8) under Apply update from .zip file on SD card, and there's a "toggle signature verification" switch - change it and trying applying the zip file again to flash - it should work, as I recall. Before that, make sure you wipe system/cache/dalvik & reset data, etc. for a clean(er) new installation.
FM6-316Q-*.nb0 should work with earlier, non-ITE Vpad7 and so should FM6-3310-*.nb0, whereas the FM6-3350-*.nb0 should be for newer ITE devices with either HWver 107 and/or (some) HWver 106.
To flash it, you CANNOT use CWM but must download the SUTL3 (v1.7.9 worked for me) - read & following the onscreen warnings/directions and it should be finished in less than 10 minutes (have the Vpad7 fully charged first & do NOT need to have the mSD card installed)
When it's finished, reinstall the mSD card, take a deep breath & reboot/restart, and you should be up & running with the stock ROM in a few minutes - if so, check your wifi connectivity first before going any further. Start with 316Q ROM first and if it's good, you might want to move up to 3310 next (it's newer) & recheck wifi connectivity. STOP then, as yours is non-ITE and the 3350 will NOT work. You can then flash CWM and/or root it - with SOC or GB methods, etc. etc. which you're familiar with.
I had no problems with wifi connectivity and/or 3G data (prepaid GSM 3G coverage) running the Froyo Enhanced custom ROM (non-OC version since I have ITE hardware) OS 2.2 - However, I'm running stock ROM OS 2.2.2 rooted and wifi is perfect for me. (I'm written up a quck tip/guide also - in case you didn't come across it while searching for answers) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264647
Lastly, TJ_Style's FM6 ROM w overclocked kernel should work for you as well, it's OS 2.2 but I patched the boot.img with my saved newer 2.2.2 ITE kernel and got it working too, and, no issues with wifi access at all.
In short, check & change your Signature Verification options under CWM and try again, and, if not - restore by reflashing with SUTL3 a factory *.nb0 file, then - proceed from there.
Good luck, have a bit of patience - it's both fun & exciting, challenging & disappointment often followed by the joy of luck & success. Let us know how it go & write down any error message(s) so we can help figure it out together - plenty of "newbies" been around but still stranded at times.
Regards -
Thanks, SUTL3_v1.7.9 and FM6-3310-0-5029-A02.nb0 works like a charm, easy and bring back my ViewPad7 to work,
for anybodies info, that change my ViewPad to:
Android version : 2.2.2 (from 2.2)
Baseband version PR3.7_128 (same)
Kernel Version Apps_2.6.32.9 (same)
Build Number 5029_3_310 (from 4027_3_16R)
I got encouraged, and I try FM6-3350-0-1008-A01.nb0, that gives me:
Android version : 2.2.2 (from 2.2)
Baseband version PR3.7_128 (same)
Kernel Version Apps_2.6.32.9 (same)
Build Number 1008_3_350 (from 4027_3_16R)
Swype included !! (seems a little odd and disordered the configuration process, so skip it)
what means ITI / non-ITI ?
languajes: both nb0 are English/Spanish/French only
now I will start with rooting and so, I will let you know
once more, many thanks.
Wonderful, we are all glad to know that you had success. Is your wifi working once again with either stock unrooted ROM?
Once rooted & CWM reinstalled, do a backup first to save those *.img files, etc. so that you can easily restore/go back later on if necessary.
As I said, check out Enhanced Froyo and TJ_Style's FM6 custom ROMs, both of them should work nicely for you - including wifi (I believe, as least on mine - both solid signals in both G and N routers, WEP & WPA-2 modes. (Also, try open or unsecured mode)
Happy flashing ....
YES !!, wifi is working back to normal. At least sometimes (I have need to re-flash few time already, it has stoped working few times more, and not becouse of rooting, just installing apps from market)
I have also encoutered the next problem : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XuccAxXY_8
and that shouldn't be normal behaviour?, isn't it ?
try with diferent room or return to viewsonic ?
by the way, what ITE means ?
thanks once more

ITE refers to Panjit Touchscreen (Multi-Touch Resistive) used on newer Vpad7 built & shippped vs. older hardwares used on earlier models.
On that subject, I've looked at a # of youtube video reviews & posting about the device's orientation/rotation issues, and it seemed to me that it prefer to be in a landscape mode. But, there are times where we wanted to have a choice, turn it 90 degree for a vertical or straight up - not so sure it's 99% hardware problem - rather, problem caused by a mix of Android codes & Apps used. Some were defective but that's a production & quality control issue, so, anyway.
I'm not sure after seeing at your YT video what the problem is, please describe & I will have another look with my thoughts on it.
Does it happen with the stock/factory ROM or only with the ROM being runned now - I would flash a different ROM to compare the results.
Sending it back to Viewsonic is an option but you will be without its use for 2 to 4 weeks (usual timeframe, could be longer) & deal with packing, insuring, shipping & waiting - but, if it's "bad" - get authorization & exchange it or repaired.
Regards !
Bad news, as later day, wifi come alive, it went down sometimes, and as I was trying application I flash the three diferent factory rooms few times. What I didn't notice is that the wifo was disconecting more and more often: now it does connect at all.
As said, I have try the three diferent ROM in viewsonic, and also an app called FixMyWifi, nothing helps, wife is all the time "Connecting..."->"Disconected"->"Searching"->and so on
about the strange behiviour of the screen, the matter is that as soon as using two fingers, the right one, can not be in lower position than the left one. So forgot about plenty of games, drawinf with two fingers, dificulto for rotating maps (when the rotation of finger goes beyond 90 degres)
And one of the reasons I bought it is my little boy, explain that to a children of four years..., in deed he found it as "that does work well, the tank does not follow my fingers"
so, as a multitouch is basically pointless if you have to care your right finger does not go bellow your left one ...
Anything to do with the Wifi ?
rooting may help in some way?, and some terminal comands?
I am willing to try, I am just in the point before return it as faulty device.
Many thanks for all the help given.

Thanks for clarifying and I looked at the YT video again - perhaps you would be better off getting Viewsonic for authorization to return for repair or exchange it. On my device, the screen is responsive 98% of the time but I do realize that sometimes, when we're playing Angry Birds, that it too doesn't always readily respond to commands or launch the bird shots .... Not a big deal for games, it will usually get going again - worst case, use the Go Back key & restart the level - I figure that it could be a combination of the Froyo or Android codes written for the OS and/or along with the Angry Birds gaming itself.
Afterall, my "regular" & 2 years old smartphone, HTC Eris running a nearly identical CPU & configuration is running custom rooted GingerBread ROM - and, is must better & responsive in overclocked mode. The Vpad7 will not, I feel, be running Honeycomb but let's hope that some of the veteran xda developers will soon release a working GingerBread ROM - perhaps it will fix many of the issues across the field, so to speak. (or, if Viewsonic will release it as official update .... wishful thinking, huh - but !)
On the wifi issues, have you tried doing the SuperOneClick and/or GingerBreak apk to root, and then flash TJ_Style's custom FM6 ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264647 - this OC version with WiFi fix might work for you without any mods (patching or zip flashing the 2.2.2 boot.img)
On wifi configuration itself, is this happening with different routers - "older" G mode or newer N (faster) routers, unsecured or open network or secured (WEP, WPA or WPA2, etc.) - any issues on the host computer/router's firewall blocking ? Can you log in at a public hotspot or cafe like Starbuck ?
Go into Settings > Wireless & network settings > Wi-Fi settings > and, then, tap the Home key (the bottom of 4 keys on the device - held in landscape mode) and you should see "Scan" & "Advanced" - does it pickup a decent signal ? Click "Advanced" & look at your "Wi-Fi sleep policy" - mine is checked for "When screen turn off" - tried "Never" or "Never when plugged in" - any difference ? If you get this far, you might want to try to set up & Use "static IP" instead of using dynamic ip addressing that these devices usually count on .... it's a bit of work, but might help to "zoom" into your own router only.
I use "Wifi Analyzer" v2.5.13 from Kevin Yuan (Google Market) to help scan the spectrum for signals and possible interference, which sometimes do happen - and moved 1 of our 2 cable broadband router to a different channel so that all of our wireless (up to 15 of them, yes) devices around the house can easily connect to the hotspots. (Reading posts @ other forum sites & ran my inSSIDer v2.0 from Dell laptop for baseline, it scanned 17 active APN's with varying signal strengths, our Sony W995 picked up only 6 signals with 3 good ones, the HTC Eris picked up 6 signals also with 3 good ones, and the Vpad7 only 3 signals, 2 of them from our own indoor G & N routers plus 1 from neighbors that's marginal. It's safe to assume that our device's internal radio receiver or Baseband isn't very good with reception to begin with - you might need to flash a different "build" like mine to give it a try - and try switching your wifi channel.)
Just some of my thoughts on the wifi problem as I do run into signal problems myself every so often installing a new device or configure a guest's new gadget at home. If all else failed and along with the touchscreen problem, then I would say get it fixed via repair or exchange from Viewsonic, and then .... (a few weeks later, upon its return to you - happy rooting & flashing, etc.)

about the wifi issue, I have try all the steps you mention before, nothing helps with my router (deliver by the telephone company). The only thing that works, sometimes, s turning off the router for several seconds, then it connect again. As absurd it sounds, it looks like the viewpad doesn't disconnect from the router even as turned off, so the router doesn't allow to negociated again a conection (and it keeps it in connected device while the viewpad is reseting or turned off)
I have try connecting a Linksys Wi-fi and connecting trought it : WORKS GREAT.
Trying in different locations, some of them same problem as the router, others works perfectly.
Solved for home with second wifi-point, I see myself one day asking Starbuchs guy to reset their router...

needed a firmware (stock or custom) to be able to use some apps etc, so i flashed the one given here:
RK2918 Tab Odys-Loox rocks with CyanogenMod 10 / 10.1!
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012654, beta build - v1.2)
after flashing completed, tablet hard bricked. no screen, nothing (even backlight of screen not working, so it is not a "black screen of death" but instead "death" only i guess  , though it reacts on charging with led)
anyone have any idea about what happened or how to recover it?
ps. atm i work on "29-30 pin shorted" thing (http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/41388-unbrick-instructions/) but not sure if it will work for me yet.
update
I was able to de-brick it (couldnt use "short 29-30 pins" thing, chips had a metal cover over them soldered to mainboard, I used reset button with volume buttons, I pushed them like crazy alot of times and somehow got rockchip usb flash state for once then re-flashed stock rom (I had rom-dump files and original "update.img"), it is working now with stock rom.
continued as follows:
1) Tried alot of other roms from similar tablets, some just stays at android screen, some works with corrupt graphics, etc
2) Oma_Odys_Loox_JB_CM10_4.1.2_v1.2 = killed the tab, debricked by luck
3) Oma_Odys_Loox_JB_4.1.1_v1.2.1a (with Oma_extSD_to_NAND_OTG_fix) = works till welcome screen, but touchpad not working so i couldnt check the system further more
4) Oma - Odys Loox GB 2.3.1 v1.3a = touchpad not working, and graphics weird (low color depth+some minor glitches on image), just waiting at main screen cause of touchpad, adb shell works (with root)
5) flashed original kernel over Oma - Odys Loox GB 2.3.1 v1.3a, screen resolution, color depth fine now, touchpad working too, but have problem with sensor, left-right or up-down shifted up to tablet position, trying to fix it
6) activated "ro.sf.hwrotation=270" in build.prop, sensor fine now. Only problem left is touch screen Y axis inverted
7) still working on Y axis issue, but weird thing is calibration works correctly, no inverted axis! and succesfull. but then I have to click upside for something downside or downside for something upside.
8) darn. it is not up or down. it becomes left or right if flip tablet to 1 side.
9) i decided that problem is about touch-driver and i dont have enough knowledge to fix it. left over tablet with factory rom, working but ehhh.
note:
thx to Oma7144, i learned few things from his/her posts, i try to find thx button now xD

[SM-T820] How to go back to stock firmware-recovery-kernel? NO SPEAKER SOUND-YT LAG

I only have 2 days left to return this device to the physical store I purchased before the deadline - Please see my main quote below for exact details. Basically, I want to know how to properly restore everything from scratch to test if the external speaker sounds and youtube video playback on firefox are working with everything back to normal stock kernel, stock recovery and stock firmware and then reverse the steps to pinpoint/recreate or avoid the problem again
PROBLEM: I'm not getting any external speaker sound + youtube on firefox lags like @joemill wrote without headphones. When you plug in the headphones, system-media sounds + youtube playback = normal and sound is ok! I only flashed twrp-supersu-decrypt from @ashyx's thread via the latest odin and then flashed the v1.1 permissive kernel from @schwabe93
I've never dealt with samsung devices and there are a lot of conflicting threads on how this is done. Hoping someone can just clarify on the best approach. I have the main original stock firmware + latest odin. Really appreciate the feedback and if anyone else noticed this.
My device reference = SM-T820 (SM-T820NZKAXAR , wifi, 32gb, U.S. Edition // TWRP (twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t820_AQD6)+ SuperSU v2.82 SR5 Beta + no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx + schwabe93 Flash-Kernel V.1.1]

Hello. So not sure if I screwed something up along the way. Has anyone experienced laggy/ stuttering video playback on youtube? Also I don't have any sound out of the devices speakers.
Sound DOES work out of the headphone jack and while headphones are plugged into the aux jack youtube works fine. as soon as i unplug the headphones the problem reoccurs.
Now here is how I was setup, Im not sure where along the line I lost speaker output:
1: stock AQI2 Rom
2:installed TWRP from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...recovery-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-t3581359 through odin
3:right after install I booted to TWRP formated DATA then flashed Flash-Kernel 1.0 and then the latest MAGISK 14
4: Device booted up and worked fine
5:I updated magisk manager to the latest
6:I installed the Gapps module and youtube 4k module through magisk manager
7:went to test youtube and noticed that I had no speaker output and videos were laggy without headphones plugged in
I reinstalled the factory AP BL CSC in odin and my speakers and youtube all works fine again
I am going to go through the install again and see where I messed up but I was just curious if anyone else saw this??
Thank you -Joe

You know what @joemill + @schwabe93
I only had the tablet for a short period and never tested the external speakers since I was trying to test NTFS OTG Stuff with headphones and that's still not working as I've posted above (basically been doing note taking so far and haven't done anything else). I was always using the headphones and I am experiencing the EXACT SAME description from @joemill, but I am on SuperSU (NO MAGISK, only followed @ashyx twrp + SuperSU root-decrypt instructions) and everything as noted in "My Device Reference" -
1. HEADPHONES PLUGGED IN = ALL SOUNDS (SYSTEM, MEDIA, NOTIFICATIONS), VIBRATION = WORKING.
2. NO HEADPHONES = NO EXTERNAL SOUNDS (NO SYSTEM, NO MEDIA, NOTHING) ONLY VIBRATION (e.g. CLOCK ALARM = VIBRATION ONLY, TAP KEYS VIBRATION ONLY)
3. YOUTUBE PLAYBACK on firefox browser NO HEADPHONES = LAGS, STUTTERS NO EXTERNAL SPEAKER SOUND - I'm on a 100Mbps broadband connection with the WiFi router next to me.
4. YOUTUBE PLAYBACK on firefox browser WITH HEADPHONES PLUGGED IN = SMOOTH, FAST + SOUND OK - IMMEDIATELY as soon as you plug in the headphones, everything goes from choppy, laggy to smooth normal speed + SOUND OK.
My device reference = SM-T820 (SM-T820NZKAXAR , wifi, 32gb, U.S. Edition // TWRP (twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t820_AQD6)+ SuperSU v2.82 SR5 Beta + no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx + schwabe93 Flash-Kernel V.1.1]
I didn't try flashing again to stock because I'm not 100% sure how it's done - I've been asking here in this main Tab S3 forum but no luck in getting a response. I was surprised that the external speaker sound wasn't working and was planning to return this tablet because I thought it was a hardware issue but now that I see this post from @joemill, I am not so sure now

Quoted details below = based on after flashing this kernel for the SM-T820: [SM-T820,825] Flash-Kernel V.1.1 Permissive, Wifi Fix - I made a comment in #28 on the thread link below

Not hard to fix man you should be alright.
Try to download the 3 files from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s3/how-to/firmware-t820-qdxusa-android-7-0-t3626822
They are outdated but after you flash them with Odin just. Check for updates on your device and it will bring you to the latest
Download the latest copy of odin:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4168915
So before you begin to be safe please remove(sign out) of your Google account on your s3 tab(just in case this device has frp lock)!!!!!!
Now reboot the device into download mode by shutting it off then holding power + volume down + home button at the same time until a blue warning screen pops up then press the volume up to continue.
Now plug the tab into your pc and open up Odin as administrator
Select the files you downloaded before in each slot(you may have to unzip them first if they don't show up)
Press start and wait for the process to finish. That should bring you back to stock firmware and recovery and should correct the weird video lag and lack of sound from speakers. I have not tried to re-root again and the device is working fine.
YouTube should have some Odin tutorials if you need as well

Great @joemill, thanks so much for replying and outlining those detailed steps + links - I would have definitely missed those 3 main files.
I have to head out for the present morning but will be back home in the evening to do this (downloading the main 3 files you initially linked in the meanwhile to be prepared). Good reminder point as well on the google-account FRP (I'll be removing that & double checking OEM unlock is turned ON, I also turned off any pin-screen swipe/lock features from the general settings android menu).
I'll report back here to share the aftermath... I'm glad I came across your main comment (but unfortunate to hear that it was not the situation anyone would want!) - initially I noticed that when I set my alarm to use this Tab S3 to wake up the other day, I didn't hear any sound but the vibrate feature was working (thought it was a sound setting I didn't enable) - I rarely use external speaker sound and it was the last thing on my mind to even check at the time.... well, that's now an obvious issue along with that strange youtube video playback without headphones from what we both experienced... certainly not an isolated case!!

Very good. Should go pretty smooth. Odin is pretty simple.
Yeah that is a weird issue that I have not come across before. I feel like it is probaly kernel related because that is the only thing that would affect that I think. The device works good stock for now eventually I will test again.
It's good to know that It is not isolated to magisk

@joemill - thanks again for all the help from earlier and reporting back now:
I restored everything back to factory stock with AQI2 stock firmware and stock kernel and stock recovery = EXTERNAL SPEAKER SOUND WITHOUT HEADPHONES = NOW WORKING (system/media/notifications) + YOUTUBE (via firefox browser) = SMOOTH/NORMAL PLAYBACK in mobile-desktop mode and highest 1080p-4k resolution streams + Vibration = OK
From your instructions, I skipped one step and flashed the XAR-T820XXU1AQI2 zip components (AP, CSC, BL tar files) through Odin that I had saved on my computer originally... so I didn't use the main 3 files from AQD6 but did download them in case the AQI2 I had on the computer didn't work. All the other steps you outlined, I followed and the tablet restored back to like it was out of the shop (excluding Knox triggers shown in Odin-download mode). The yellow colored "Set Bit Warranty: Kernel" notification on the upper left screen has also disappeared during the boot/shutdown process.
So now my current device info AFTER RESTORING BACK TO STOCK FIRMWARE-KERNEL AQI2: SM-T820 (SM-T820NZKAXAR , wifi, 32gb, U.S. Edition) - Stock Firmware ROM-kernel / Kernel version: galaxy tab 3.18.31-12165571 [email protected] #1 / Build #: NRD90M.T820XXU1AQI2 / Android Security Patch: September 6, 2017, SE for Android Status: Enforced
This was indeed a surprising event but glad I don't have to return the device thinking it was some hardware defect! I am a little more comfortable now in flashing this device with Odin thanks to your clear instruction steps. Now comes the part of trying to troubleshoot where the sound issue/youtube lag came from as I eventually would like to get the NTFS-OTG/root aspects working again (I can go a few days without Adaway from XDA and in the meanwhile, installed ublock origin for firefox) - we'll need more community expertise in approaching this better. I'm going to refer this comment back onto @schwabe93 's kernel thread for awareness and documentation. I'm still open to testing and sharing findings if anyone has suggestions as I'd like this tablet's continued development to improve for everyone.
"Posting one answer that I tried and found it to work for - restoring stock kernel via twrp if you flashed a custom kernel"
1. Extract "boot.img" file from AP-firmware "tar file" that matches my device (I used 7zip) and copied to external microSD card.
2. Restoring back regular stock kernel: booted to twrp > flashed boot.img via "install image to boot partition" > rebooted and noticed a bootloop with the galaxy tab s3 powered by android screen > turned off > went back to twrp > flashed "Boot image patcher-no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx" (I already did this initially after flashing twrp through odin, not sure why it had to be done again) from my microSD card again > bootloop gone and boots up to system again > stock kernel now appears in settings-about tablet.
Video stutter also on T825
I've got same behaviour on SM-T825 on AQI2 with TWRP installed, rooted using SuperSU.zip, v1.1 permissive kernel and no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx installed.
Had same problem with similar setup on AQD6 without v1.1 permissive kernel - so the kernel isn't the problem.
Stuttering occurs on every video playback, whatever player I tried (half a dozen), it also occurs on ad-videos during games. I increased caches of internal & external SD-card, but that didn't help.
At the moment it seems like we only got the choice to stay on stock (video works) or to root and accept stuttering & missing audio out on speaker. Hopefully Samsung will provide a new ROM which may fix the problem. But as the problems exists since AQD6 Samsung may not care about problems root-users have.
Any idea what else can be tried?

Depending on your needs you may install SoundAbout from PlayStore which enables you to redirect sound to destinations which aren't existing or active.
E.g. you can redirect the sound which originally is send to the buildin speaker to headphones even if they're not connected - this will stop video stuttering, but it will not bring the speaker back. So videos are now smooth, but sound on speaker is still missing.

Beforehand, have the correct Windows OS drivers, so your PC recognizes the SM-T820 when connected to a USB port. Uninstall Samsung Kies or at least not have it running. Disconnections can be caused by a faulty USB port or cable. Afterwards, if the SM-T820 is stuck on the logo screen for a very long time, reboot by holding Power + Home, and then try flashing again.
Flashing instructions for PC:
1. Download and extract either Odin3_v3.13.1.zip from https://odindownloader.com/ or @realbbb's Odin3 v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD.zip from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572.
Run either of the Odin v3.13.3 software (both work on my SM-T820).
Reboot the SM-T820 in download mode (hold Home + Power + Volume down).
Connect the SM-T820 and wait for "ID:COM" to turn blue in Odin.
Uder 'Options', make sure "Re-Partition" is not checked.
2. Add the Odin software files from updato.com into the respective Odin slots (BL, AP, CP, CSC)
(note: CSC_XAR... will wipe your data, HOME_CSC_XAR... will not wipe your data.)
3. Click 'Start' and if the flashing process is done, the Odin program should show a "PASS" message, and the SM-T820 will automatically restart if "Auto Reboot" is checked in Odin's 'Options.
note: if the SM-T820 is stuck on the logo screen for a VERY long time, reboot by holding Power + Home, and then try flashing again.
Hi,My Tab S3 was working normally until I realized a few days back that the fast charging isn't working. It charges faster when I keep fast charging off.It shows fast charging if I turn it on ,but takes more time than normal charging.I didn't notice it until now as I like to charge my tablet normally.Fast charging was working fine on nougat.I noticed the problem on Oreo. How do I troubleshoot what the problem is?I would like to add that the port is OK as I don't use my tablet that much.

How to completely remove touch screen firmware?

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (i9505) with a strange behavior (ghost touch, mainly). Anyway, I have installed a dozen of custom ROMs (even reinstalling the stock ones) with no success.
I've noticed that no matter what ROM was currently installed, I've got the same TSP values (when running *#2663# code):
Phone's TSP FW version: SYB0085C
Part's TSP FW version: SYB0085C
Config TSP FW Version: SGH-I337_SY_0608
TSP checksum data: NA
(btw, I actually have an i-9505 model but it prints SGH-I337 , as above)
Looks like the phone software was messed up by the former owner (or by a regular update).
I've tried to wipe/format all the partitions (I'm using TWRP recovery) but the TSP firmware is still there (as the TWRP itself uses the touch screen input only).
How to actually get rid of the current TSP firmware (complete wipe/remove) so I could install another version from scratch (along with a custom ROM or such)?
Does the recovery software (TWRP) use a custom (embedded) TSP firmware? (though I got the same ghost touches in TWRP, too).
Thank you in advance for any help.
I've just installed (downgrading) another TWRP version (hoping for a non-touch driven interface - with no luck).
Anyway, while testing the new recovery interface I've noticed that the ghost touches almost disappeared (and they were present in the recovery mode, too).
After restarting the phone, I've noticed the same reduction in ghost touches (though they're still "alive") but I wonder what could have been the influence of the new (actually, older) version of TWRP on touch screen firmware (or touch screen behavior, for that matter)?
Does the recovery software (TWRP) use it's own touch screen firmware and did it actually rewrite the former TSP firmware version?
Any ideas, please?
I've made some progress on chasing the TSP firmware.
I found that the "apnhlos" (by-name) partition is mounted as /firmware during regular operation (but was not mounted during recovery). Hence I have mounted it then I found out its content:
Code:
keymaste.b00 q6.b00 skmm_ta.b03 tima_key.b03 tima_pkm.b03 vidc.b03
keymaste.b01 q6.b01 skmm_ta.mdt tima_key.mdt tima_pkm.mdt vidc.mdt
keymaste.b02 q6.b03 tima_atn.b00 tima_lkm.b00 tzapps.b00 wcnss.b00
keymaste.b03 q6.b04 tima_atn.b01 tima_lkm.b01 tzapps.b01 wcnss.b01
keymaste.mdt q6.b05 tima_atn.b02 tima_lkm.b02 tzapps.b02 wcnss.b02
mc_v2.b00 q6.b06 tima_atn.b03 tima_lkm.b03 tzapps.b03 wcnss.b04
mc_v2.b01 q6.mdt tima_atn.mdt tima_lkm.mdt tzapps.mdt wcnss.b05
mc_v2.b02 skmm_ta.b00 tima_key.b00 tima_pkm.b00 vidc.b00 wcnss.mdt
mc_v2.b03 skmm_ta.b01 tima_key.b01 tima_pkm.b01 vidc.b01
mc_v2.mdt skmm_ta.b02 tima_key.b02 tima_pkm.b02 vidc.b02
Now that's the true challenge: which one is the TSP firmware (if any)?!
Any help, please?
I'm in the twilight zone, really.. I've tried to delete the whole content of "apnhlos" aka "/firmware" aka "/dev/block/mmcblk0p1" while in recovery mode, it shows an empty partition but after reboote the whole content is back!
I've even tried to format it (mkfs.vfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p1), it looks empty afterwards but then again, the data is back after reboot.
Now I really need some help.. how to actually get rid of that partition content?
Any help, please? I'm running out of ideas..
Meanwhile, my sensor hub (software) has broken, too (no sensor is working nor detected) hence I need to reflash that sensorhub firmware too.
I've tried the "*#2663#" method but it fails when I'm trying to update SENSORHUB.
I've flashed a lot of stock ROMs (using Heimdall tool) but no one seems to change the TSP or SENSORHUB firmware.
Are they stored on kenrnel or something?
Hi guys,
Still no luck on my quest of replacing my phone's touch screen driver.
I found the location of the driver (/sys/bus/i2c/drivers/synaptics_rmi4_i2c) but I don't know how to disable it (for testing purpose only) or how to actually replace it.
For instance, does anyone know how to disable (or unbind de touch screen device from the aforementioned driver) using an adb (shell) command?
