Calendar issue - Outlook calendars - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A few days ago I bought a S7 (on 6.0.1), upgrading from my Xperia Z (on 5.1.1). As usual the first thing I set up was my outlook account with my calendars - I set up an Exchange account as well as through the outlook app (just like I have it on my Xperia). I use the outlook app for my emails and use Business Calendar 2 Pro as my primary calendar app/widget.
I have a few individual calendars on my outlook account. However on my S7, business calendar doesn't show the individual calendars, instead it has merged them all into 1 calendar. I made sure both phones are running the same version of both apps (outlook and business calendar). I also tried the native samsung planner app and other calendar apps but they all also merged the individual calendars into 1 calendar. Any ideas on how I can change it so that I can see my individual calendars on my S7?
I have screenshots, but can't post them atm, being a new user.
Thanks

[Q] syncing contact's birthdays calendar with google

in Google Contacts, i have activated the "Contact's Birthdays and Events" calendar. while i can use this calendar for example in Thunderbird or even the old mobile, the calendar won't load in the SGS2's calendar app - it is not even listed as calendar at all.
some calendar widgets from the market do list the birthday calendar as "inactive", which probably means that it's currently not synced. other Google Calendars like "Week Numbers" work just fine, so it seems that the birthday calendar is not synced on purpose. from reading forum posts, it also seems possible to use this calendar in other android devices...
has anyone found a way to get the birthday calendar to work with the SGS2?

[Q] How to sync more than 5 Google Calendars?

I have a Google Apps account and a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone. I use Google Calendar on a computer with a web browser as well as using the Google Calendar App on my phone but recently noticed a problem when I added a new calendar to my the GCalendar web.
Calendars in GCalendar web are:
Calendar 1
Calendar 2
Calendar 3
Tasks (this is a built-in Google calendar to show Google Tasks).
Contacts' birthdays and events (special built-in calendar to show Birthday and Anniversaries taken from dates in Google Contacts).
Calendars on GCalendar app:
My calendar (I've assumed this is a default calendar added by the phone).
Calendar 1
Calendar 2
Calendar 3
Contacts' birthdays and events (special built-in calendar to show Birthday and Anniversaries taken from dates in Google Contacts).
I added a new calendar (Calendar 4) to my GCalendar web but this has not shown up in GCalendar app under the list of calendars within settings. My questions are:
Does Android have a max limit of 5 calendars?
How can I select it to use a calendar that does not appear in the calendars shown in the GCalendar App under Settings -> Calendars?
Thanks in advance.

Corporate Exchange account will not sync shared calendar

This problem has been bothering me for a long time now.
I have an Exchange account with my school that I sync my email and contacts to my android phone with no problems. However, the school made a shared calendar for our class schedules that I added to my Exchange account (by adding the URL), but this calendar will not sync to my phone. If I create my own events in my personal calendar, that works fine and shows up, but the calendar that I added from the school will not. It shows up just fine on Outlook on the PC.
My current solution is to just add that calendar to my google account and sync it, but the problem with that is that our class schedules can sometimes change suddenly and gmail doesn't sync very often, which has led to some problems for me in the past. I would much rather have the direct syncing of the calendar to my phone instead of through google.
What makes it more aggravating is that my friend has no problem syncing the calendar with iOS, so I know it should be possible. I've tried using Touchdown but that has the same problem.
Here is an image from the Outlook Web app showing both calendars
Thanks in advance for your help
My phone: MyTouch 4G running ICS. I had this problem even on other GB roms.
Question
Sorry i can't help you but i have question . I saw you wrote your friend has no problem sync shared calendar on iOS. Can you tell me how he did that and do i need some kind of app. I'm trying to sync my shared calendar (Outlook 2010) to my friends iPhone, but iPhone only syncs his calendar when i create exchange activesync account on his iPhone. Android Exchange Account Sync does not sync events from all Outlook.com Calendars

Running an LG G4 on Android 5.1. You can sync your Outlook.com Email, Contacts, and Calendars by create a new Account in Settings with Type 'Exchange' it will usually auto-detect and do all the setup for you just by entering your Outlook.com login info (your Microsoft account.)
I've found something very strange though. If you go into the stock Calendar app, it does not list any calendars other than the primary account calendar for your Outlook.com account. However, if you use any other calendar app including the "Google Calendar" app, aCalendar, Pure Calendar widget, you name it, you these apps DO list all your calendars that you have on Outlook.com, HOWEVER, it appears Android's Exchange sync does not download events from any other calendar other the primary calendar associated with the Outlook.com account.
This makes no sense as why list the calendars if you aren't going to show the events?
Of course Microsoft recommends downloading the Microsoft Outlook app which does show events from all the calendars BUT, that app only provides the ability to sync your Outlook.com contacts with the phone, making them accessible to any apps that need to read your contacts. It does not (like the old Outlook.com app did) sync email or calendar events so you can see them in any other apps.
So what I'm curious about is the issue with the Exchange Account Sync in Android not syncing events from additional Outlook.com calendars a bug in the Operating System, or an intentional limitation or unintential bug in Outlook.com's Exchange Server emulation?
Because I need to see events from all my calendars elsewhere in my system such as on calendar widgets (Pure Calendar Widget) my workaround it to use the Gsyncit plugin for Microsoft Outlook Office Desktop client which does bidirectional syncing between Outlook.com and Gmail so it allows you to maintain contacts and email in both Outlook.com and Gmail accounts and of course all the calendars sync properly when using Gmail (Google) as the calendar source. The big drawback of this though is that if your PC isn't on, any updates to your Outlook calendar will not get synced to your Gmail calendar/contacts. Of course the better solution would be to make Gmail/Google your primary place for managing your contacts and calendars however I share a lot of my calendars and I've found your average user finds the Outlook.com interface more user-friendly (and cleaner) than the Gmail interface and more importantly the Outlook.com account will sync more seamlessly with Windows which is what the majority of people use for their desktop operating system.
I'd love to find out if Microsoft (Outlook.com) or Google (Android) is responsible for the lack of full Outlook.com to Android Calendar sync support and if it's intentional or a bug?

Sync calendars from different accounts

Hello dear XDA comunity,
I would like to have all calendar events from one account always copied (i.e. synced) to another.
More precisely: My calendar app (acalendar) displays all events from my google account plus all events from an other account created by the app "Calendar Sync for Facebook". That is totally fine. But I would like to also see those Facebook events in my google calendar on the desktop. So do you know a way to sync events from one calendar account to another? Maybe an app?
Best regards,
Willy
