while i used

210 mb for cache and rest for Data about 7500 mb but only i get is 5 gb usable out of 8 gb for Data partition

Right, so I'm fairly new into knowing my Droid Razr having only picked it recently; Your stock ROM takes up about three gigabytes in total. That means after you've partitioned your total virtual ROM space for safestrap at about eight gigabytes. The remaining space on the internal memory disk would be five gigabytes out of sixteen remaining. That's your available storage. A smaller Data allowance in your ROM slot will help you get more space.

[Q] Safestrap...what is the 2GB used for?

I am not clear on how the space "partitioned" by Safestrap is used. Is the 1GB, 2GB or 3GB the space that is reserved for the "ROM"? Or does this effectively turn the phone into a device with only 1,2,3GB of internal memory (for ROM and app data) as far as that rom slot is concerned?

The 1, 2, 3 gig partition is your data partition, so yes it effectively makes your phone which originally came with something like ~8gigs available after all of samsungs crap, a 1 - 3 gig internal memory partition. Unfortunately, that's the name of the game until we can get a way around the loader and open the entire phone up.
I've been using Eclipse 1.6 and it's been splendid with a 3gig partition. All my apps are loaded and have about a gig left over.

Is this normal?

I'm trying to get as much internal storage as possible. But there is s 6+ gb chunk of 'misc. Files'. After a fresh install, and wiping everything, and formatting, I only have 8.8 gb of internal storage. Device is an mdk build with twrp running hyper drive rls14.
That sounds about right because the os will take around the 6 gigs...you'll never fully have the 16 or 32 gigs you're "supposed" to have
Ok, thanks. I was expecting at least 12.

I am running 3 different roms (via safestrap) on my 16gb phone with a 32gb extsd card

[Q] ARM to delvik revert back but storage still being consumed

I decided to try the ARM which comes as an option in Kitkat
But it consumes almost 500 MB over the space already being used up in delvik.
My phone has only 2 GB of internal storage.
On reverting back to delvik, 100 MB is still unaccounted for.
Is it possible that it is being cached up somewhere in the phone memory that I can free up.
Did any of you face anything similar?
Any help is appreciated.

[HELP][Q] Brandless China phone /system Corrupted.Only Can Boot to recovery

Hi
I have a china phone has no brand it's Model is ISTAR V3 W
It has internal memory of 1GB and SDcard(not ext SD) memory of 4GB
i think(The rest of the specs i dun really know).
So the internal storage was like only 1GB so i searched google and found the HKromEditor Tool so i used it increased it to 2.5GB for MT6582 and after that i had more memory but with 2 storage with the second storage with 3.8GB
So after that ported Blisspop because i didn't like the stock of it.
I ported it from
http://www.mtkroms.com/2015/08/blisspop-lollipop-for-mt6582.htmll
I did do a TWRP backup of the Original and the Ported
So It worked . but it only detect 1 storage on which was the 2.5gb storage.
so i went google and searched on how to repartition the 2 storages to 1 and i found "meteos-mtk6589-rom-edit..." which was a recreation from the tool i used before and i tried it by using the 3rd option and now my phone is with /system partition of 486MB and i think the rest of it went to /data and have no firmware to fix it.
anyone please help me to partition it back to normal

My Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon maximum storage space was reduced to 9GB

My phone has a 32GB storage space, but after I have flashed the RR Oreo ROM, the maximum space shrank to 9GB. Do I need to re partition the space? There is a thread which is the same situation as me but it's for nexus 6 phones....
I cannot flash stock MIUI 9 rom due to fail unmount when installing using TWRP...
Please suggest what I can do...
Sounds like you messed up your partitions. The same commands you'll find in the Nexus threads will work for all devices, AFAIK. Do an advanced wipe and resize the file system in TWRP. If that doesn't work, try fastboot format userdata in fastboot. Then try flashing the stock MIUI recovery (here it is for mido devices only!: http://en.miui.com/thread-528989-1-1.html) for your device and stock ROM for your device.
You might have to use Mi Flash. Qualcomm devices only.
Based on your steps, I have formatted however I had used ext4 and reverted to Stock MIUI rom. However just checking, I had 23.77 GB of storage space. Is this normal? Or I have to restore by stock recovery mode?
It shows in storage settings:
NON-SYSTEM STORAGE
Available 23.77GB Total: 25.23GB
Thanks for your help!

Yes. The system will always take up some space, and so will storage in general. For example, a 32 gig USB stick might have 29 gigs of available space. Smartphones add system files on top of that. So that 29 gigs becomes 25 gigs once the OS is installed.
And yes, you should only have 24-25 gigs available at most: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/help/usable-storage-size-32gb-model-t3634746
You could try flashing a custom ROM to see if you can get more space back. MIUI is really big.
