Hi everyone,
I have a Rogers S6 Edge 64GB, and I was wondering If I would be able to download and flash a different carrier firmware from Sammobile? http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G925W8/
Since Rogers doesn't seem to be planning to update the phone to Marshmallow anytime soon, can I download the Telus or Bell 6.0.1 firmware and flash it on my Rogers variant? Or would that brick my phone/mess up the IMEI or baseband? My phone is 100% no root, still locked.
Thanks
Instead of making a thread and waiting for an answer you could of done a search and found your answer. It's yes you can install any Canadian firmware because they are all identical

Hello XDA former go'ers,
I would appreciate a few nods or shakes of the head before I consider proceeding with this...
I have a Galaxy S3 network locked to Three. (with their giant 3 logo appearing when I turn it on being a give away).
Can I just flash the BTU unlocked UK firmware to it via the ODIN software?
I assume you do not need to get the phone network unlocked first. (can do that later)
If anyone has links to the best stock firmware file available right now and the most up to date ODIN that would be appreciated too
Thanks

Hi mate,
Yes you can flash the network branding free rom via odin (very easy to do)
You also don't need to be unlocked to do so... But keep in mind that flashing a non 3 rom wont unlock the phone and you will still have to do so to use on other networks.
If you need any further help with it then drop me a PM and I'll help you all the way.
Thank you, the firmware flashing went without a problem.

Unlocked stock rom`s brings you the newest version usualy a lot faster than provider rom`s and you`ll have no Vodafone bloatware.
Well the choice us completely up to you.
If you like/want the vodaphone apps then flash voda firmare.
But if your not really bothered either way then tgen unbranded.

please can someone help me, I rooted my phone but I didn't like it so I wanted to go back to my original firmware. but now I don't know what it was. I went on the sammobile website and download a firmware (ORANGE). my sim says orange so i thought that was my phone carrier since but when i installed that firmware and loaded it up, some of the notifcation icons were missing and when i was setting up, nothing came up to let me login to my Gmail account which it did before.
it wasn't like before so i went to the settings and looked up where it says NETWORK and that says EE so i tried downloading that but it still the same thing.
how do i find out what my original firmware was?
also when i first got my phone and i loaded it up there was no ORANGE logo. but when i installed the ORANGE firmware, it was there so it probably isn't ORANGE one. i just want to get it to the way it was. since when i installed either the ORANGE or EE firmware there is are some icons missing. like the Mobile hostspot, Sync, multi window, NFC, S Beam, Hands-Free Mode. all those ones are missing.
please help

There are couple of 4.3 versions for each country/carrier. Try to download all the versions for Orange or EE if it's so important to you to have the same icons. I would suggest Btu ,that is firmware for England.

thank you so much man, it worked. i was getting so worried.
Firmware is irrelevant to simlock, carrier versions only add bloatware, branding and out of date modems.
Just use the latest generic firmware for your country, BTU as above in the UK, for the best results.

thank you. i was worried because on the guide i read, it said that if i used the wrong version my phone with get bricked.
hello, I am asking for, because I see a lot of people saying about diferent firmwares for each devices (AT&T, TMB, VZW, SPR) and the model is the same for all(G955U), I found in AFH an stock firmware but it says TMB, and I don't want to brick my device lol.
Can anyone share a firmware to our S8+ from Sprint???
If is possible, I am looking for QD9 version.
Thanks
without unlocked bootloader, you cannot flash anything. 955U has no unlock solution yet.
You can't Flash... but you can Odin stock firmware... anyone have Sprint stock firmware ?

I have noticed the baseband firmware is the same and there is a "user" firmware file that is strictly associated with the carrier. I have recognized this with Verizon and Sprint. ODDLY.. I have only seen these carrier firmware files included with the initial firmware release of the phone..
So Verizon launched its GS8 plus with one firmware release in advance of Sprints release of the phone.
So the two firmware files are NOT compatible given you are unable to downgrade and completely unprovission your phone.
Now .. I think the theory is that if you own a Verizon handset that has never received an update you can provision to Sprint .. granted you have the complete initial firmware set for Sprint.
Anyone know or have insight?
Won't know until the phone is in the hands of the tinkerers. It has been that way, FWIW, since the GS7/GS7E.

Check the S8/S8+ fourms
It works. I just flashed the unlocked firmware on my Verizon model. Only issue I'm having is trying to figure out how to access IMS Settings, can't access through nova or shortcut master. Visual voicemail works.

I am happy to report that after flashing the Sprint firmware on my unlocked S9+ it worked with no issues and knox was not tripped. I've noticed that even though the Sprint splashscreen didn't show up at boot, while in setup the phone did detect the exact carrier I was on (Boost Mobile) and the phone showed the Boost Mobile splashscreen upon reboot and all the Boost Mobile apps as well as some bloatware loaded onto the phone as if it were a phone I purchased through them. But one issue I still notice since when I first bought the phone is the fact that the data speeds are slow in my area, but when I had an LG Stylo 3 from Boost in the area now where I see the slow data speeds, the LG didn't have that issue. I thought flashing carrier firmware would fix that problem. When I am in other parts in NYC out from where I live, ex: Manhattan, Brooklyn; I don't see no slow speeds I get true, fast 4G LTE. I guess it's a software issue Samsung can fix in the next update?
Anyone have link for modified Odin just in case I decide to flash iunlocked S9+ firmware back on my phone?
