Strangest thing - Kindle Fire HDX with 80% charge suddenly won't turn on. Tried holding down power button to force it off and then turn back on, but nothing... Tried power button and volume down, nothing...
Tried charging for several hours, still nothing.
Any other ways to try and power it on or reset it back to original condition?
I tried plugging it in over USB, but Win 7 just says it can't find a driver for "qhsusb bulk"
Wow, don't take my word for it but that sounds similar to omap4440 on the second gens, not saying its hard bricked but if I had to take a guess at what that device is abbreviating it would be Qualcomm high security USB, like the Qualcomm processor the kindle hdx has, a snap dragon with some kind of high security(locked boot loader). I have no idea if I'm right but its just a guess and a shot in the dark so I'd wait for other opinions, I just find this interesting so I thought I'd throw my two cents in.

This just happened to me. Had it for less than 2 weeks. I had filled up its memory to near full capacity when I figured that I needed to clear out room. Plugged it into my PC and started to delete photos, about 4Gbs worth. After a few seconds of clearing memory, the Kindle began rebooting. I did this 5-6 times, very slowly deleting these photos. The Screens then conks out. Won't respond to power button reboot. According to Device Manager, it's recognized as QHSUSB_BULK, but it doesn't have the drivers installed.

Try copying down the lines on the device's properties in the device manger under the details tab on hardware id's. Might be able to find a matching driver for it based on its vid and paid online with a Google search. Also share them here to plz as I am curious.

I am having this exact same issue. I downloaded numerous episodes of prime TV content that would come close to the max capacity of my 64GB Kindle HDX 7". This morning I went to turn it back on and now it will not turn back on. Pluggin it in to the USB on my computer shows a driver not found with the "qhsusb bulk" showing as well.

I have declared it bricked. Since it's still new, Amazon was able to replace the device, no fuss.
Does this seem like its hitting both the 7" and 8.9" HDX or just the 7inch?
froze on my 8.9" as well

It happened on my 8.9" HDX. Mine was not from filling the storage - I had only installed a few books the first few hours I had it. Next morning it was dead. Sent it back to Amazon and am waiting for replacement, but they are out so will have to wait a few weeks for replacement.
Bad internal memory?

Hi! If you tablet is bricked, you can make factory reset with adb! This is working!
Code:
adb reboot recovery
After choose factory reset.
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
- this is command reboot in fastboot
I tested it and it working! Sorry for my English, I am from Russia

This should work for people who are bricked.
I had this issue on my 7" after only 2 days...tried Amazon's suggested 'remedies' to no avail, and then called their support who basically put me through similar tasks, also with no joy. Finally declared it a lost cause and they overnighted me a replacement (Saturday delivery!)...I've had the replacement now for a little over a week, without incident, so far (knock on wood).
How do you do the adb commands if you can't turn on the device?

You can't.
HI,
can someone tell me how can I fix a bricked kindle Hd 9.8 , It has a RED Screen, and it doesn't allow me to turn it off, only after the battery is gone after pushing the power button for 20 secs.
I read that using the fastboot .cable will work, but it did not. I download kindle fire first aide to try to boot it.
The kindle do not appear in my connected devices in my laptop..
thanks for all your help
You didn't state what caused this issue, what were you trying to do when you got your device brick. To avoid all the hassle I'd suggest just get replacement from amazon itself if you have that option.
Trying to help a young lady at work. Her overseas military bf got her son a Fire HD6. He played with it a while and brought it back with just the FIRE logo displaying. If you turn it off and back on it goes to Amazon logo then FIRE, and that's it.
I tried holding the volume down and power buttons and it turns off, when you turn it on it does same thing.
I held the power button for 30seconds, waited a few seconds and turned it back on, same result. I put it on the original charger for over an hour and then repeated the process with same results.
If I plug it into my computer (Win7 64) it sees it as MTP USB and attempts to install drivers but fails.
I called Amazon and they wanted to know the order number and registered account and such just to troubleshoot the darn thing.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
I met the same problem.
My fire hd 6 is also on the loop of logo.
I've tried to connect it with factory cable to PC, but won't work.
Is there anyone have any suggestion?

Anyone have any input on this???

Alright so I know I have a boot loop problem on this kindle fire hdx 7" but I don't know what's it doing when I connect from oem usb cable to pc. It shoes kindle fire grey'd out on screen and the screen pulses on and off forever. When I put it on a charger it goes to the normal boot loop of of the colored Kindle fire logo animation. The battery is completely shot as well because it's bulging from a battery leak. But am I not able to use the tablet from just being connected to the pc without the battery? I have multiple battery alternatives of testing before my replacement arrives on Tuesday. I'll probably put some 18650s in there so I could test if I can get out of boot loop. The cells are 3.7v, 2500mah which I think should be fine for testing purposes. I just want to know if this is a normal problems that the screen pulses on and off with a grey'd out logo because I haven't seen this problem on the forums. I'll link the videos to the boot loop problems and the grey'd logo connected to pc

Behavior in first vid is not normal. Guessing PC connection is only delivering 500mAh which is insufficient to support normal boot operation without supplemental juice from battery. Hardware interface is USB2 so probably won't support higher current rate from USB3 when operating in data mode (max charge rate is 1800mAh in non-data mode).
problem was a dead battery, please close thread mods
My brother tried to do some modding on his Kindle Fire 6 4th gen and has now handed it off to me to try and fix. The device won't power on at all. I don't know if he did something to the bootloader or what but no matter what combo of buttons I hold I can't get any kind of display. I did notice that when it's plugged into my computer the device manager detects a MT65xx preloader but then it goes away. Then it comes back and goes away over and over.
I do have a fastboot cable but that didn't do anything either. Thoughts? Is it completely toast?
Holy Crap! I found this and it worked!
