GT-I9100 Flash with Odin stuck at .img file. NAND Erase? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone!
If I would like to make a NAND Erase on my phone, will it remove the Download mode and recovery mode from the memory, or not? I think I made something wrong when I tried to repartition the phone and now it doesn't work fine. May it be a good solution? Thanks!

Your best bet would be to simultaneously flash the correct pit file and a firmware and start again.

i9100 stuck at Samsung Galaxy SII logo

Hi all
I have recived a I9100 from a friend and I am trying to fix it for her... It went dead after she flashed a costum rom to her device...
Recovery does not work either
What I have tried
flashing a stock rom
flashing a kernel
flashing bootloader
flashing unbrick file using ASB box
flashing the handset with SPT box
flashing .pit
repartion

My guess is that it is NAND rw problem, and I will have to wait for my riff box service cables to arrive, so I can jtag it back to life (I have the box, they forgot to ship the service cables)
Any ideas is appriciated
Best regards
You actually see the logo? Can you get into Download mode? Not recovery.
If not you either need to Jtag or she has somehow triggered the super brick bug. Then the device can't even be repaired with the RIFF box.

Yup, it is stuck at the Samsung GSII logo...
I can easily get into Download mode... But I have no recovery... Im thinking that it is a eMMC fault, I am trying to find a place to buy the eMMC and get it replaced/reballed
Well if you can get into Download mode, I'd suggest you try flashing the CM9 resurrection edition. It's the only "custom Rom installation package" I know that comes with everything to start from every base.
If it's really a broken emmc chip, you better have the knowledge to replace it yourself (or know someone who has). It's neither an easy nor cheap procedure.

Im at a loss here... Why do you keep on going on about recovery mode," Hmm can you post a link then?? I get a .zip that is CWM flashable ", when you say you have none but can easily get into download mode!!!!.
As Mistahbungle said," CM9 Resurrection is flashed via Odin in download mode ".
Read the Galaxy S2 guide here how to use Odin is also there.
How to fix a soft brick is here
And CM9 Resurrection is here flashable via Odin
Hope you know what your doing.

I apparently only found the CWM files, instead of the tar, that's why I was talking about CWM... but it is still dead...
Okay, you must have misunderstood me... I know how to use Odin, I know how to recover from a Soft brick, I know how to recover from hardbricks using JTAG... I am not a noob
I have all Samsung professional tools, riff, SPT, medusa, asb etc...

Hehe, it is just okay...
When I flashed the CM9 to it, I got the kernel panic uploade mode... So my guess is still NAND/eMMC fault...
Strange one. It seems like a hardware fault. Good luck with repairing that. Usually a motherboard replacement would be the way to go.
Can you check if you're able to get into stock recovery after flashing a stock ROM?
I have had similar problems on both SGS2 and on Gtab 8.9 after performing factory reset in latest CWM. The only solution was flashing a stock ROM and then factory reset from stock recovery (and then flashing whatever ROM I wanted to flash in the first place)
Could be worth trying.

It was a HW failure... I got it fixed under warranty, and they changed the PCB... Way more simple than changing the eMMC...

Had the same problem, stuck in logo. I tried flashing stock ROM, but it didn't save my situation. So I tried flashing CM9 Resurrection and managed to get into recovery mode. Then I reflashed the custom ROM I had earlier on and everything went up again. Thanks a lot.
same issue
I am also stuck at Samsung logo, i9100
I can get into recovery. I installed stock many times - no help. (I9100XWMS1_I9100XXMS4_I9100NEELS1_HOME.tar.md5)
I was missing my IMEI so I guess it is the efs folder fault.
I tried to fix the efs with backups, I have zipped EFS, but I can not go to system and replace the files.
If you have any ideas - please share it with me!
I also had a nandroid backup - no help as well.
my sgs2 is softbricked and I have download AND recovery mode, and still can't fix it ;(
did you try this guide?

[Q] Galaxy s3 stuck write NAND

Hello
I was trying to flash an stock ROM in my i9300 when it got stucked and i bricked my phone.
Now when i try to flash a rom or a kernel odin gets stuck at "NAND Write Start". I tried to flash a PIT first with only repartition checked and them flash a kernel with the pit and auto boot and F reset chechek (saw this mehtod in a forum ). When a flashed the pit odin said pass but when i try to do the kernel odins gets stuck at setting up connection
Can someone help please??
( tried to take of the baterry, reboot the pc, tried all drives, installed drivers again, and i am not running kies on second plane)
Visit the rescue firmware thread:

Follow the instructions exactly, if that doesn't work then you've damaged the nand and need a new motherboard.

I wil try thank you for the answer
Sorry, but the download link is dead, do you know where can i find a similiar link
I was able to find it and flash it and everything went all right, my IMEI changed!!!
Is there anything i can do restore my original IMEI???
If you flashed an rom earlier than EMG then update to EMG, if you are on a later rom then your efs partition is probably corrupt after your brick.
If so then restore the backup of efs you made before you flashed, there is no other way to regain imei number apart from a service centre.

[Q] Is this what's known as "bricked"?

A while ago my phone started to restart itself for no good reason. Then it got worse and it starts randomly resetting itself (factory reset). To solve this issue I tried to do a manual factory reset myself, and the problem persisted.
I can deal with these random restarts, but then one day as it restarts it got stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen. I tried to do another factory reset in CWM and clear the cache, but it says "E:\cache\...." isn't mounted. As I investigate further it seems the reason that it can't boot might be because the memory is not mounted I guess?
I can boot into Download mode and CWM perfectly fine, so I decided to try to flash the Stock Recovery and Stock ROM through Odin. Connection between Odin and the phone was set up fine, but then it stopped at this error message "Complete(Write) operation failed." Flashing either stock rom and recovery yields the same error . It simply can't write to the memory it seems.
Now I'm stuck at this start screen. I've heard flashing a PIT file might be able to fix it, but I have no idea what that is.
Is the phone bricked? How do I fix this? Should I use the Rescue Firmware in this post? It would be great if anyone can help me since I have been asking for help on other forums but got absolutely no response...
GT-i9300
If you can boot to download mode you can try to use the rescue firmware. No, it isn't bricked because it still works
Thanks for the response! I'm going to try the rescue firmware, but I see that it says "KOR" on the file name. Is that referring to "Korea"? My phone isn't bought in Korea does that matter? Also what's the CSC thing it's talking about?
Your description matches emmc corruption/failure, so it is a software brick.
Follow the guide for the rescue firmware it doesn't matter about the country or CSC, but make sure you include the pit file.
If that fails to flash then it's time for a new phone.

I just downloaded the zip file, but it seems like it doesn't have a pit file inside. So where can I get that file? Thanks again.

There are two versions in the rescue firmware page 4.1.2 and 4.3 the pit file is in the 4.1.2 version and can be used on both.
Now I tried to flash them with Odin 3.07, it doesn't fail nor success. Instead it got stuck at "Get PIT for mapping.." I read that this might be a driver problem, but I've reinstalled my drivers, and I even tried all the usb ports on my computer. I've terminated Kies' process, but it's still not working!
What should I do to get Odin to write onto the device???

It won't write for a reason, the emmc chip is damaged.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Flashing with Odin

Hi I have one samsung Galaxy S3 which is stuck on Boot Screen. I tried to flash it but odin shows fail. I tried pit file same. Is there any way to fix it. I have Z3X also with me
@arjun_anil, in the worst case your internal memory is gone. So before threwing away, try firmware again: download your firmware, drivers, Odin from sammobile.com and follow exactly instructions, given there. If Odin finishs with failed again, post the log.
I tried to flash efs file and this is what I got
This is what I got from odin flashing efs file
Boot screen huh? Sounds like is missing/corrupted is files. Have you tried recovery an factory wipe? Also if you can connect to Odin, then you could reflash. But first your gunna need to know a few things about this brick here. Like the android version, carrier, an kernel version. So you can download an flash the proper files. I'm guessing your on a Verizon phone and or you didn't install Samsung drivers to help Odin's successful flashing chances. If you don't know your phones info, you can find out in recovery an Odin modes on the phone if accessible.

Accidentally Nand Erase All I9300

I accidentally ticked nand erase all my Galaxy S3 heeellppp I have JIG and my Hardware Buttons are broken except my home and lock button
I have never used the "erase all" option but the jig it should put the phone into download mode where you can try flashing a stock ROM. You may need a pit file though.

Can you upload one? And some procedures? Thanks!
There are procedures in the general thread about flashing with Odin.
I don't have the i9300 so I don't have access to a pit file.
