XperiFirm as a time capsule - Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Searched a bit and found no similar forum;
googled but found nothing relevant:
can XperiFirm be used as a repository of historic versions of firmware?
I'm looking for a particularly old version of the Z3CT firmware and I can't find it anywhere.
XperiFirm only shows the newest versions available per country unless there is a way to go back to older versions.
Could anyone point me in the direction of a repository of old Xperia Firmwares?
thanks,

Xperia blog forum has some older ftf to download you have to enroll though.

[Q] Problems updating Hyundai T7s tablet to jelly bean 4.2 (official rom)

Hi all,
I'm encountering some problems when i'm trying to update my Hyundai T7S tablet to the official jelly bean 4.2 ROM.
I've the update from the Hyundai website (hyundai-digital .cn). This download comes in a .rar file. I knew it would be impossible, but tried anyway to flash this file from the SD-card. But to make it work this way, the update should be a .zip-file.
In the .rar file are 15 files, some of them are .bin and .img files. And I've not the knowledge what I can do with these files. Unfortunately the support guide of Hyundai can not be opened and two hours googling didn't help me out. So here's my question:
Is it possible to convert the .rar file into a .zip file and flesh this file? Or can I flash the rar-file in some way?
Thanks!
ps. i had the full links copied in my message, but since this is my first post, i cannot post links. Sorry for that!

Extract all files in zip to SD card (ext.). Power OFF. Press Volume - and Power and update will start. Looks like you use Volume + not - witch takes you to recovery mode. When done tablet will turn OFF. Power ON and you should have new firmware.
You are talking about "HYUNDAI T7S-20130318" ?....if yes it is not 4.2 is still 4.0.4; If you found a most recent one (4.2), can you email me with download link please ?....I can't find 4.2 for T7(S). Thank you !

In the section HYUNDAI T7S-20130318, there is something about Android 4.2
Can someone confirm this? If it is 4.2 I am buying this tablet right now .)
I believe it is, but I only got mine yesterday, not even rooted it yet.

The website says it is 4.0.4, and will update to 4.2 in the future.
Can anyone tell me know to root this device? I tried Exynos abuse, it does not work.

exactly. even though some sites advertise it as a 4.2 device, the latest available stable fw is still the 4.0.4 from the 18th of March.
I just tried exynos abuse 1.4 about 2 hours ago on my t7s and it worked like a charm.
Waiting for 4.2 too
Another T7S user here, waiting for 4.2, too. Is there something wrong with the website? When I visit http://www.hyundai-digital.cn/ it tells me:
bad requesta (invalid hostname)
I copy/pasted it, and yes, it's "requesta". I don't know what's going on with that D:

from what i've read (some weeks ago): the main hyundai company has told that branch producing the tablets not to manufacture devices to be exported from china, so they're cutting the rest of the world off their official site --> you'll be able to reach the webpage via a chinese proxy (as if you're browsing from china).
about the update for which we're all waiting for: last time it was told to be released in 2013 june, so i still haven't given up yet. anyway: just search for "slatedroid" on the internet if you'd like to get updates about the tablet in english

Another possibility could be porting CyanogenMod OR buying a tablet to a developer. We already have CM for the same SoC, so I think about xplodwild or codeworkx, the two main i9300 maintainers

That would be great!
This tablet will literally fly with CM.
How can I ask to a developer to port to this device? Is it there a specific forum? Or just pm them?

Well that'd then be the reason why the 4.2 ROM for the rest of the world is now available to download through MediaFire rather than an official Hyundai page.
For those who haven't found it yet, this post on the GeekBuying blog details the download and installation of the 4.2.2 upgrade.
I'm in the process of downloading the 222Mb archive now; going rather slow which is nothing new for MediaFire.

anyway: everyone can still reach the site (http://www.hyundai-digital.cn/download.asp?ClassID=1) via any chinese proxy and check out regularly if there's anything new announced (like the stable release for the 'plain' T7, which was uploaded earlier today.

It probably is the website of Hyundai Korea, not Hyundai China (maker of T7s).

Has anyone managed to root this T7s Android4.2.2 ? When I tried to root it , it returned an 'error' saying that this image is sort of immune to rooting. I tried with exynos root method.

New XZ4T owner - a couple of questions

Hi:
I have an XTZ and decided to get this tablet over a newer one such as a Samsung S3 9.7" as I *much* prefer the 16:9/16:10 aspect ratio over 4:3 and I couldn't find anything else. I have a couple of questions about it.
1) If I never will use LTE, is there any reason to get the SGP771 over the SGP712? This is from a usability/issues standpoint as well as rooting/roming/etc. I will most likely run stock but I like having root so I can do what I want with it (e.g., my XTZ is rooted stock and I'm just fine with that).
2) I've just begun reading these forums but I see references to newer firmware than I see download threads for on this site. Is it just totally stock firmware or is there some other site or file host that has newer rooted, stock images? I know about I saw a reference to "mega" but I have yet to figure out what that is and I see tools like XperiFirm over in the cross-device section. It's been a 2 years since I last did anything to my XTZ (it's still on one of the early Lollipop releases ) so maybe I already learned all this and forgot

Old Version of FlashTool

I am trying to restore the stock firmware to the U20i and while (after very long digging I have seem to found it) the latest FlashTool does not work to flash this. It seems I need an older version of FlashTool (ideally around 0.7) but I do not seem to find that anywhere in the Internet.
The closest thing I found is this https://www.mediafire.com/file/2fz9z38zutq2hs5/flashtool-0.6.8.0-windows.exe but the file is corrupted and won't run (or so Windows 10 says).
Any ideas? Does anyone have old versions of this? Ideally for Mac, but anything will do! Thanks!
I've finally found a version that works for older 2010/2011 phones, flashtool-0.9.0.0 for windows (live June 2019): https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B8HY...xport=download

Force Pie on G8343

I just purchased from eBay a Sony Xperia XZ1 (G8343). It appears to be a stock international model. I'm trying to update its stock ROM from 8.0.0 (47.1.A.2.313) to the latest Pie build available.
The phone itself reports there are no system updates available. Xperia Companion also reports I am running the latest available software.
Is there any way I can force an update to Pie without rooting the device?

Yes, you need to do some searching though.
There is a program called xperifirm, that you can download the latest firmware (software), and another tool called newflasher, that you use to install it. Good luck, happy searching.
Hi,
My small contribution... Google "xpericheck" and you will access the full list of available updates based on your precise model.
I finally got around to this. After reading a few additional pages here and there, I eventually was able to download and install the latest Bell Mobility (CA) Pie firmware and am now setting up the phone to my preferences.
Thanks for the help!
Strange thing - the Bell Mobility firmware keeps re-enabling Google Chrome and Duo, even after I manually disable them. If this behavior continues, I guess I'll try the Freedom CA firmware to see if it's improved in this regard.

General Older Firmwares

These are some older firmwares that I was able to find and save. The XQBC-62 is the Xperia 1-iii, but the boot images will work on the pro-i as long as it is the correct version (I suspect, the entire firmwares might even work, but I've only tested the boot images).
61.0.A.25.7 is android 11. It is the only android 11 firmware I was able to find.
If anyone has other firmware versions, please post them in this thread so we can have some sort of archive for the older firmwares.
