i9300 working 4.4.4 KK Rom with ongoing support? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys i still love my old sgs3 and i'm still using ArchiDroid 3.0.2 (KK 4.4.4) but there are more and more wakelooks appearing caused by google play and I'm not able to fix them by myself. I want to stay with KK because it has the best ram management for my old SGS3. With KK im able to play a game and listen to music, at the same time (not doable with newer versions, because there are build for phones with more ram).
So here my question: is there a stable ROM (preferred on CyanogenMod base) which still has support and maintenance?
Thanks for your help guys!

1. Grats of posting in development forum [emoji14]
2. You can use newer version of ArchiDroid it's very good
Wysłane z mojego GT-I9305 przy użyciu Tapatalka

Archidroid has no ongoing support though!
Saying that though, the only backup 4.4.4 ROM I have is Neat ROM and I always find myself going back to it, as in my view it's perfect!
There's been lots of people, me included that find Archidroid 3.1.5 to get laggy after a couple of days use.
PS....... As Minto107 pointed out, this is development and not General Q and A though!!

neat rom has ongoing support? doesnt looks like. the 4.4.4 version is from May 20, 2015

No, it doesn't! Hyper ROM does though! However, in my view Neat Rome doesn't need it as there's no reason to continue support for a perfectly stable ROM.....

Hey thanks for recommending Neat rom, I had to fall back to my S3 because its my backup phone.
I had a LG G3 with cm13 and thought that having cm13 on the S3 would be quick too, but man it lagged so bad, I didnt realise that 4.4.4 was the best for the S3, boot up was so much faster apps load quicker too.
Maybe my 1gb phone works better on 4.4.4. Thank again
Btw is there a Kernel you can recommend for Neat Rom?

Hello guys,
Just a simple question, any other IDEA how to make this general section more dirty? I'm curious :-|
and just in case I call this a forum not a chat room!
so all I can say is thnx for making harder to find something useful in general section for me!
with all due respects seriously love you guys!
No offence though
PS: and there is already a Q&A section here
PSS: to admin, moderator or anyone here with some power it would be really great to make a discussion thread in Sony sections. thnx.
Root it -> Unlock Bootloader -> Flash Sliding XP v7.3 Kernel -> Flash Experience V2 (ROM)...

Install Slinding XP kernel 7.3, you'll get a much smoother phone and install ACID Audio Engine v7, for awesome sound.
i have been using my xperia p for 3 months with stock rom.just got on with rom cook.never better.
You should just wait patiently and not do anything until JellyBean rollout.
which ntituses
i am waiting too
I am Also new to Xperia P but Old to Xperia . I am waiting for JB.. JB will be great on this device (I think. ) In xperia P forum every thing seems to be paused.
Which unofficial rom do you suggest for xperia P. This stock ICS really sucks. I came from htc with cyanogenmod7 and must confess that even that was better than stock ICS. I was waiting for official JB but comparing stock ICS and CM9 (experience only from htc) I do not believe that stock JB will satisfy me.

[Q] Are there any XTZ Stock-based Roms??

^title, I like the features the of the stock rom that I cannot find in Aosp roms
Just wondering if any one else knows of any
based on my knowledge there is no stock based rom. well to be honest xtz forum is kind of quite, we have no dedicated devs cause i think they are more busy on other devices or something. there are themes available in the theme and app section though

I am soon working on a stock ROM for Pollux_Windy device, but overall work on it and initial release will come when it comes.
Xperia Z is main device where I will release two ROMS - one fresh and tweaked, customized / modded stock and one AOSP one. Then port equal results to Tablet Z if I can get it work with satisfying results..
It comes when it comes!

I am aiming for an beta / test release for the Xperia Z stock based rom next week. Me myself needs more testing of it, and also isolate battery drain issues so they are totally zero. Then let some guys over the XZ section test it, and begin working on the CM ROM based ROM (perhaps with some 4.4 goodies included)! Then port them both over to Pollux Windy!
Hold your fingers crossed, guys! Time needed: 3-3.5 week!

I am currently watch the development in 3 directions:
1) Stock ROM, with stable performance good UI & Multiusersupport and all functions working
2) CM11 or Android 4.4
3) Ubuntu Touch
I doubt it is going to be easy to develop a solid Stock Rom (realizing MHL, remote Control etc.)
Never heard some great improvments about ubuntu touch.
But, hey-> I'll be watching you

New better rom?

Hey all.
I have been using this rom [ROM][JB4.3]Ganbarou GT-P7500/7501/7510/7511 Android 4.3 based on CM10.2 for some while.
It is fast and nice!
And battery life is great!
Buit after some time it gets slow and i have to restart the tablet.
And Netflix dont work.
What stable and nice rom can you recommend?
I just want a rom where all works.
What about? CyanogenMod (http://www.cyanogenmod.org/ )
Thanks
Regards Daniel
Toldo 's jellybean ICS ROM plus A1 kernel. Best and stable performance you can get.

I tried Toldos Jellybean rom for a while. It is great except for batterylife. Now using cm 10.1. Has a good batterylife and its works well.
I have only been using Ganbarou for quite some time and it is great. Especially the battery life. I do agree that it does get laggy after some time, but it does not bother me too much. It will be the deciding point for me to change, though.
Luckilly BeeGee has taken over Nameless rom from Kasper. I understand there to be some screen glitches on it, but I might take it for a drive over the weekend. If it gives me what Ganbarou gives me, without the lagg, and the glitches is not too annoying, I might stay with it.

Hi all
I haven't changed my rom in more than a year and I'm completely lost. I used CM 10.1 but it has graphic glitches and it sometimes freezes. I'm also looking for something as stable as possible, with multi user support. I use the tablet mostly for video and web browsing. Don't really care about having the latest version of Android, as long as it's equal or higher than 4.2 for the multi user feature.
Can you please give me some advice?

Any solution for mali bug on i9100..?

I tested most of kitkat roms like cm,carbon,neat,rootbox...etc all i have seen that nfs mostwanted was not working properly it freezes phone, and i heared that its mali bug. Is there any way or any app to remove this bug..? Plz help me.

No. Only samsung can do it but necer do. This bug is because there is no exynos drivers for kitkat. Only stock roms can handle with every game without lags and freezzes

Can't agree with that.Every game I played on my current rom runs even better than on stock, including nfsmw, with the same kernel and settings I get more fps, faster loading times and so on.Absolutely no problems. But I know - on kitkat it's another story...

Mali updates can be applied via installing a custom kernel like apolo kernel by pedestre or dorimanx kernel by computoncio. It could fix problems in games, yet there is no guarantee.

AOSP Rom

Hello everyone, I'm searching for a good Aosp rom for my s3.
I have tested P.A (from 4.41 to 4.5 beta 2) but I have SystemUI FCs or after unlocking...
I have tested CM11 M9 too and nightlies, but I have systemUI FCs too when unlocking... And other bugs.
I have tried Aokp, liquid smooth, dirty unicorn, resurrection remix, but I have a lot of bug too...
For me the more stable was CM and PA but there is not a lot of personalization (forced to used Gravity box )
So if you can tell me a good aosp rom please ? :/
And I'd like to know (for CM) who is better, nightly or snapshot ?
Thanks ^^
And sorry for my bad English

Snapshots are considered more stable, but according to my experience nightlies are stable too, you have simply to consider from how many times a rom is under development: 4 months generally are enough.
I prefer M builds to prevent my compulsive system upgrading
And yes, in CyanogenMod systemui is the worst thing especially in my device. It freeze my device for some minutes before goes to FC.
Since few days I aborted the Dalvik world and the greatful GravityBox.
I'm on ART with better performance and battery saving, but mainly with better stability.
Okay thank you all, actually I'm testing PacRom and it looks great for the moment only one SystemUI Fcs since yesterday
About ART, I have lose 1500 point in Antutu with CM and somde lags... I prefere keep Dalvik because I use a lot of module xposed ^^

I understand that you want to keep Xposed, but prefer Dalvik to have a greater AnTuTu benchmark score is ridiculous!
ART runtime, is "officially" better than Dalvik runtime, but is under development still and requires more free storage space.

Yeah but if ART had less score than Dalvik, its maybe because the s3 don't support ArT very well etc...

You are on a little different Boeffla kernel, which use the Samsung proprietary drivers instead the open source smdk4x12.
According to Lord Boeffla, it should be worst than the known Boeffla kernel.
What's your experience with?
Thanks, we can be useful also for OP [emoji6]
Nope... The Samsung sources are actually better than the smdk4x12 which are synced to Samsung sources upto Update7(hence outdated, with crappy performance/battery life) whereas current Samsung sources are upto Update14, that's why he decided to make the NG Kernel in the first place...
But don't u think this is getting a bit too off topic for this thread?
