XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF) bits.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 8 over halogenOS 7, however, don't bother us with issues if you do so.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Currently right now, halogenOS will only include the stock Android theme.
We may one day decide to use a custom theme as soon as that theme is working perfectly fine.

Nahh to comfortable with my setup for testing atm
Flashed this yesterday evening and so far so good! Only been used lightly so I'll report any bugs that do come up, but overall seems like a great job One of my favorite additions is the ability to switch notifications back to the old ticker style, which IMO is much better than the heads-up notifications used now. Definitely makes this a keeper!
Quick update, just found my first bug - the front-facing camera doesn't appear to be active at all (it doesn't come up in any app, including the default camera app). Not a deal-breaker for me at all fortunately.

Notes:
1] Previous thread was deleted by me for some reasons. This is a stable build. You can flash this.
2] Why is this not in orig-development? Because people view android-development forum first and it gets 'more traffic' hence.
3] Bugs? Report them over Telegram or on the thread. Better if you Telegram. We are online 24/7.
4] Problems? We have a vast community over Telegram. You might want to ask there and get your answers asap. Links are mentioned above.
5] ROM has OTA updater and will give you a notification when a new build is come. We have a release schedule which we follow sincerely. Release builds are done only on Saturdays every twice a week unless a major fix has to be implemented. If you do not get a notification, you can manually update the ROM.

Could you please tell us if scrolling is working fine? I was using 06/25 build and scrolling was a little bit glitchy.
When I first flashed the ROM (01/07) earlier today, I had this problem too.
Anyway, after some minutes of use and a reboot, that problem vanished and it became very smooth!
Yep. Maybe your cache was empty. I need private beta testers. Please pm me here or on telegram. Need to test loads of stuff. Including private stuff I'm building like O (preview 2)

The rom is smooth, no glitch while scrolling. I notice one thing, there is no way to assign the volume rocker to awake the device. Under Hardware button I enable it, but it disables it self. That is the only bug I found so far. Sorry I don't post this in Telegram but I'm not going to join a community which I will hardly be part of.

ROM is Smooth AF. Wipe system and try again. Sometimes Gapps are the one causing the lags.
I usually boot the ROM without Gapps and test it. I flash the Gapps later only if I'm going to make use of the Google environment.

At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 7 (Nougat) over halogenOS 6 (Marshmallow)
without any problems. Although we cannot promise that it will work for you,
although we don't recommend it, we can tell you that this has been tested.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Try rebooting once and wait 5 minutes for app optimization to settle down.

Might be a bad download. In fact, i find it more smooth than any other 8.1 rom. The stock launcher is so dam smooth, i might just refrain from flashing a custom launcher.

Seems to be a Gapps issue, since latest build went perfectly through setup wizard without hiccups. You can try to use these gapps too if GZR gapps dont work https://download.dirtyunicorns.com/gapps/arm64/EzioGappsMini-arm64-8.x.x-official-April2018.zip
Fingerprint gestures are in System > Gestures , for now there is only swipe down for notifications
Well well well, look who's here with XOS.
Great to see you here buddy ?

Glad you're enjoying it
Not sure if this is a feature but the WiFi is turned off on each reboot. I have to manually turn it ON every time.

This is indeed a feature, although coming straight from Google. It's a security feature introduced in Android 8.1. Which means you will have to enable it on every reboot.
