When I hold power button and volume UP, I only get black screen with Phone and cable animation.

Hi, with volume up, you can enter in recovery mode.
You must use volume down to enter in fastboot mode and you can flash the original fastboot ROM with SP flash tool.
Be careful to take the right version of the file, mtk version and not snapdragon.

So, just to download official fastboot rom from miui site, and flash it to the phone while it is in fastboot mode?
I thought I would brick the phone with that steps..

Follow the tutorial to flash with SP flash tool.
After developer ROM is installed, you can unlock your bootloader with the official method.

I would put a stable stock chinese ROM, not developer and I will stay with locked bootloader.

I was using Unofficial Cm13 (kenzo optimized) rom, then I decided to go to miui8 global stable. So, I flashed MIUI8 .zip file using alka twrp.
But after flashing it, my phone didn't boot into system. Mi logo flashed twice with vibration, and that's it. Now I can only go to fastboot mode only.
And when I try to flash fastboot rom using mi suit, it says, " try to connect in normal mode first, then switch.
Please help.!!
Hello, sometimes after installing the new rom the phone slowing on first boot.. try to get on recovery again and then do all format. after this flash the rom. The best way to flash the rom secure is to try fastboost method!!

Actually, I am unable to get on to recovery. When I press power+ volume up button, it vibrates, mi logo appears for a second, and then it goes and what is left now is blinking red led light. Also, If I boot into fastboot, and and connect my phone suing usb, The mi pc Suits says, "try to connect in normal mode first, then switch"

Thanks for the support. But I am unable to try this method. because the fastboot download speed is very low.
bro dont take any pressure...go to fstbot mode and check whether your bootloader is relocked or not..i am 99% sure its relocked..just unlock it and you are good to go

just again unlock with the same way you did it first time..means go to fastboot mode..connect the phone to pc..now login on miunlock tool in your pc and unlock...simple

I was having same situation too bro !!!
flash MIUI rom via MiFlash tool...
install ADB drivers ,
connect usb cable to laptop / pc...
then press both volume buttons at same time (+ and -) and at the same time while pressing keys , insert cable into ur mobile...
this will boot ur phone in EDL mode...
then by using MiFlash tool , flash rom and reboot
I flashed MIUI global 7.1.8 , it worked for me !

1. Flash miui 8 recovery rom through alka twrp.
2. Boot into fastboot mode.
3. Unlock using mi unlock tool.
4. Switch on my phone (and now its in miui 8)

Hello my friend just made an update of his phone which is a redmi 3 pro
His little bro shutdowned the phone while update was in process. The result is that now the phone have a bootloop, can't access the recovery (blackscreen when trying) and have a locked bootloader.
So I am not sur how to unlock the BL if I can't install a dev rom and can't boot. Not sur how to get into the recovery with the 2 same problems.
Could anyone help me for this one? Which is hard to me.

If you can acces fastboot then just connect the phone to computer in fastboot and enter fastboot oem edl in cmd (maybe you will need Minimal ADB and fastboot to do it). Then flash official ROM via MiFlash.

EDL mode allows flashing with locked bootloader. Some models have this mode locked, but I think that is not the case with Redmi 3.

to go to edl mode just turn off your phone.plug the cable to your laptop or desktop but not to your phone.now be ready to press both volume up and down button as you plug the usb cable to ur phone.immediately after inserting the usb cable press both volume buttons at the same time.it should vibrate and go to edl mode.edl mode appears in black screen so to know if its in edl mode or not open miflash and click refresh ,your device should be shown as com10,20 or com something like that .once you go to edl mode you know what to do if you have used miflash to flash roms.hope this helps you.

Well about that i dont know.but your best bet to solve it is by changing the software.if that does not helps then you should take your device to a technician for repairing.

When i bouht it the software it was unnoficial then i put with miflash the china dev. All the problem start when i make updates apps and the android web view.

He tried to run the EDL mode but when he does that the phone simply goes into the bootloop again... He asked a vendor from Aliexpress to get a french rom, is there a way that the phone doesn't have EDL because of the rom or something like that? I mean is EDL a hardware-thing or a software-thing

I have same problem, but this way is not work, because bootloader is locked. Im forget for replacing recovery.img in update package with twrp.
I had this problem before few monthes
my solution was to "force" putting this device on EDL mode
I clicked on vol up + vol down + power together and got into EDL mode, then miflash it.
google - xiaomi understanding download mode
it will send you into miui forum
then second method, download mode, it is what I've described
my redmi note 3 is bricked after trying to install a update im gessing the update was not a good one my huge problum is i can not boot into recovery or fastboot mode am i out $190 or is there a way to save it all i get is a black screen and i can pull up the option for fastboot normal and recovery but i cant do any thang elce

Describe your issue more specifically. Did you unlock bootloader? Which recovery you were using? What was the ROM you were updating to and from?

lokced bootloder recovery was broken on my phone and updating from miui 5 stock to miui 7 stock

Bro you don't need to go to fastboot mode you are already in the edl mode.
Just download the fastboot rom of the latest miui rom and extract it. Use mi flash tool and browse and locte the image folder of the extracted rom.
Connect your phone to the computer and press refesh button on the mi flash tool. ( Keep in mind to disable device driver signature inforcement in windows). Your deveice would be seen in the flash tool as COM ...... now select the flash all option and then the flash option. After the installation ends your phone would most probably reboot itself, if not unplug your device and long press the power button for at least 15 seconds. Now your phone will boot with a mi logo ajd wait for at 30 mins. Report back the results.

32 Gb Rom,3 Gb Ram
I was trying to flash Android 8.0 Rom via Twrp {Flashed Through Mi Flash Tool}. Twrp Flashed Successfully and Then I started with flashing with Oreo Rom.It also got flashed successfully but the problem I think is I forgot to flash Lazy Flasher due to which the phone booted but was lock even though i entered the right password It started to reset the phone. Then the phone turned off never revived from there.
As I tried to power up many times and tried almost all the combination Keys like Power+Vol up,Power+Vol down,Power+Vol up+Vol Down,etc.Only Red Light is blinking while connected to charging or PC. In PC the Port shows Qualcomm 900E and cannot be recognized in Mi Flash Tool. As Mi flash tool detects Qualcomm 9008.Even I manually Tried to change the driver to 9008 but didn't help me to flash the ROM.Shown an error: Device attached is not working; in Mi Flash Tool
Even I showed in a repair center near me but he ended up with no solution even. I have been trying to get it in Edl mode so that i can flash Fast boot Rom but no clue for that.
If any clue for this would be really appreciated!!!

After flashing oreo ROM lazy flasher is not required you need to format data ( apart from wiping data ) to boot the device.
when connected to PC when the red light is blinking that means you're in EDL mode, now try holding power + vol down button, keep holding until you get a vibration & get into fastboot mode.
Then you can use fastboot commands to check if the bootloader is still unlocked & can flash TWRP again if erased.
But, if device is unable to enter fastboot mode then you must flash MIUI fastboot ROM through EDL.

I have tried holding all the combination keys as mentioned earlier but no results. So without getting in Fastboot mode i cannot flash the rom and I don't think so that my device is in EDL mode because PC device manager shows Qualcomm 900E instead of 9008.

The device is already dead.
What happens when you plug charger? What about Qualcomm QHSUSB BULK? Is it showing up in EDL? Vibration Works? LCD Backlight Turns On?

This happens to me once...but i got it solved. This is really an edl mode of the phone. Keep trying connecting it to pc and try pressing those volume and power buttons if there is any voice connecting to pc means your phone is not dead. So, keep trying.

Here, this helped me. If you follow the instructions correctly, you will be able to unlock bootloader, boot into twrp and then flash your custom rom. Skip to the part when you will have the red led blinking.

The brick tool has worked on a few occasions ,thank you for that but now I need more help or suggestions, when playing between the Spain ROM and China version I lost the baseband and IMEI.Then I thought,locking the bootloader back would help obviously it did not work. Now even though I flashed the unbrick tool though miflasher edl mode I am stuck with a blank screen after the Nubia logo and port Qualcomm 900e in Windows device manager.
Tried already via recovery to flash an update China version or Spain version they flashed fine however still same scenario after Nubia logo.
Not sure what my options are.

Thank you for the tool.Just wondering if there is a version for Android 11 as i updated to 3.16 android 11 firmware via the usb and now I get your device is corrupt.
Obviously my problem dates back to unlocking and then relocking the bootloader which somehow bricked the phone. Even though before relocking the tool worked once the bootloader was locked the phone wasn't able to boot into system but I was not getting the device is corrupt.
I am hoping for a way to unlock the bootloader or to be able to get back into the system to tick the option in the developer settings hence I am keeping my hope for an updated unbrick tool.
I donwload the file and uncompress it, when select the folder with XiaoMiFlash is shows "could't find flash script".
There are no flash_all.bat file on folder
any help, where is that file?

In my case said the same with regards the script but had flashed fine once started.
Just be careful if you have the bootloader unlocked do not lock it again with the fastboot flash lock.

Usually this is down to the drivers used for Qualcomm Edl mode. Have you installed them ?

Yes, I have correct drivers, I restored the phone last year, but not now.
Xiaomi tool detects phone in bootloader and in edl mode.
Windows detect phone in edl mode as: Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM8).
I tried with QFiL too, but I am not sure the config to work qith this, because it detect mobile in edl mode.
Any way, Xiaomi tool has very few config options, I can's understand the "could't find flash script", can any one give us ligth about this error?

I've been following your discussion on this thread and had the same problem after ota update to 3.16.
I also had initially difficulty flashing with MiFlash but finally it worked.
I immediately pressed the flash after entering EDL mode
My phone flashed and entered the Chinese mode. I then went to bootloader by hard pressing the power button and Vol down key.
In bootloader I entered recovery which allowed me to update using OTG. I used a flash with USB C and loaded the phone with NX651J v 22 and my phone is back to the previous settings.
