Hey guys,
Can I still use the easy root tool to root after updating to the 4.4.4 firmware?
Thanks
Nope
I tried but it is getting stuck on CREATING VM (JAVASUCKS)
Same here... +1 Stuck on "Creating VM... "
No, the known flaws in 4.4.2 are all patched for latest fw, only current way around it is to downgrade, root install dual recovery and flash a pre-rooted zip from CWM.
In other words;
Go back to .314 (4.4.2) firmware,
Root,
Install a recovery,
And flash the new 4.4.4 firmware via recovery.

There are new rumors that you can root 314 - select preserve mode in SuperSU - and go OTA... and root will remain...

Yeah I've heard that aswell. It's most likely working. Shall I try it? Just spent a few hours getting 4.4.4 work on my phone with root...
Ah right - Fuuuun...
I think i'll just carry on stock until someone sorts out a rooting method for 4.4.4 that doesn't involve so much faffing about lol.
Thanks for all the replies
Just keep a eye in Z3 Section too
4.4.4 firmrare is a near direct port
Hi folks,
I have a new 4.4.4 Z2, should I root it now or wait after the Lollipop version is installed?
Will I be able to install the Lollipop when rooted?

If yoy have recovery on your phone, try flashing the stock prerooted lollipop made by @niaboc79 found in android development.
if you dont have recovery, you can try out the dual recoovery by @Nut, located in original android development.
hope this helps

You could also update to your lollipop again,
Get these things ready
- latest supersu flashable zip
- flashable lollipop supported kernel of your device
download any supported lollipop kernel of your device with recovery , extract the img and flash it using flashtool. After flashing the img, unplug the phone, power it and enter recovery. Now flash the kernel zip again, then flash the superSU zip and reboot. Now you have recovery and root working perfectly.
Just a heads up. Flashing custom kernel requires a unlocked bootloader.

Hi,
To flash any pre-rooted FW you need to be rooted yourself with working recovery.
Are you rooted?
If not , you need to be which means either down grading to 4.4.2 then rooting ( Towel root ) installing recovery ( NUTS ) and then flashing your pre-rooted zip FW.
If you have an unlocked bootloader you needn't downgrade, flash ANDROPLUS kernel ( has recovery ) and flash FW zip.

Hey guys So i've been trying to root my xperia z2 for 2 days now but I have some difficulties. Android version is 5.1.1 and build number is 23.4.A.1.264. I tried to root with easy root app and kingroot but it just does not work.I'll be really thankful if you give me some advice
it seems you cannot root with the current rom , you need to flash a pre-rooted ftf rom using flashtool .

You need to downgrade to a different version to root. Try the search button, there are a lot of threads here about rooting because is people like yourself.

No need to use kingroot. Downgrading to 4.4.2 (build 314) will allow the XZDR to temporarily root and install the recovery and when the phone reboots you install the prerooted package and its done.
Just got my phone back after a repair and it seems they have locked the bootloader and preventing me from unlocking it, what is the current method to root? I am on Marshmallow .575

Geez, that would suck if they relocked it. :/ Try to temporary root it using Kingroot, install LB recovery if you haven't already, and flash a systemless root file in recovery. Hope this helps.

What do you mean by Systemless root file? Is it Systemless Supersu?
Systemless method doesn't work on Locked Bootloader.
@K-NineHD
Easiest method to root is unlocking bootloader and flashing a custom kernel. But if you don't want to unlock BL, then either you have to downgrade firmware to Lollipop and then use Kingroot or Downgrade it to Kitkat and use built in root method provided by Flashtool(or towelroot), install recovery and then upgrade using Marshmallow prerooted firmware.
i love to downgrade to 4.4.2 (build number 314 is perfect and still available on xperifirm), so i use an older version of the XZDR that temporarily roots with towelroot, installs the recovery. when the phone reboots I just install a prerooted package of lollipop or marshmallow, all of this in about 3 minutes or less

I can't give you a specific link so here are some instructions:
Go to [NUT]'S official download website: http://nut.xperia-files.com/path/XZDualRecovery/Older_Releases
Download XZDR 2.8.21 and unpack on your computer. When your phone is already running on 4.4.2 turn on the USB Debugging and then execute the XZDR installer, choose towelroot method and connect the phone when asked to do so. The phone will reboot so its a good idea to copy the ROM or prerooted package you are going to use afterwards.
