Hi, I have a strange issue (not very important):
When I charge the phone during the night (6 to 7hrs)
From 40 or 50%, every morning the battery is at 90%.
Not using quick charge during the night.
But during the day in my car or at work quick charge I have
100% with no problems.
Have you got the same issue?
I can't say I have the same issue but out of the blue my phone won't charge past 99%...it just keeps saying it's charging and not getting a full charge...I'm having that issue with any charger I use...think I going to look into at least a battery replacement...

had similar issue using LG G Watch wall charger (700ma output) which charged well any other phone.
G5 instead was everytime charged till 80%.
Instead using LG Nexus 5 wall charger (1200ma) or even iPhone one (1000ma) i got 100%
I think it's maybe a kind of protection with some chargers. I don't know, first phone I have this issue.
And for your 99% I understand that can be boring, it's just 1% but..
I really don't care but it's not normal so may as well get it fixed somehow since it's under warranty...

If you aren't using the charger that comes with the G5 this is your answer. This happens with other phones as well typically the S6.
I use charger that came with my LG G5
You're wrong. I'm using my LG G5 original charger but it charges only to 90%. And this is just my second day owning it. First day it charged to 100%. (Unplugged after reaching 100%)
Something similar happened to me. The phone wouldn't charge past 92% a few times. Then the problem was solved by itself. :/

How long does it take before your batteries are fully charged?
First, need to start by stating it seems the charger that came with my S3 may need replacing, as the phone doesnt charge when I connect it. I connected my Note's charger though and it started charging.
I let my battery drain to 1% and started charging, its been 2 and a half hours and its at 47%.
Does that sound normal? My Note gets fully charged in about 3 and a half hours.

Have you tried the original charger & cable again after you got a little juice in the battery from Note's charger? Also to determine if its charging slowly, were you using the phone for various things while it was charging??? How long has your screen been on while charging, because that is the biggest battery sucker on a Samsung device.
Just tried using the original charger and no luck. Weird thing is the S3 seems to think it.is just connected via USB as the USB connection prompt appears whenever I try to use that charger, but still doesnt charge.
Im using the Note's charger now and it is charging again.
The entire time the phone was sleeping, screen was not on.

Sounds like either a defective charger, or a defective battery/phone. If you have a warranty, I advise exchanging your device through that method.
Thanks went to Samsung and turns out the cable is defective.
How long does it take for your S3s to fully charge coming from little to no charge?

I never leave mine till 1%. Usually at around 20% and it takes 4-5 hours. Is it better to leave till 1%?
Also how fast are you depleting a? Had a galaxy s and a iphone 4 before and the s3 seems too deplete a little faster.
I recently upgraded to a Rezound before the family share data plans came around to keep my unlimited.
First thing I did when I got the phone was to install the latest ICS RUU, unlocked via htcdev, s-off and ra recovery. For the ROM I used business sense ics. Started on 5.4 and upgraded to 5.5. I'm using the stock kernel bundled with the ROM. It's running awesome. Only problem I have is the battery charging.
I have the OEM HTC 2750 ma extended 3.7v battery. The charging is extremely slow. It took the phone almost twelve hours to go from dead to "charged". I've read a few issues regarding this, but nothing that looks like it matches my issue.
Using battery monitor I checked the ma when charging and it seems to be charging at a slower pace than via even USB. It ranges anywhere from 175ma to 400ma with occasional jumps to 800ma and even the occasional dip into negative ma even with the charger connected. According to the app it seems to stall at 98% charged with a charge of 2692 mAH of 2720 mAh. I've tried the stock charger that came with it, an igo charger, an lg charger. Just about every charger I could think of. Even the 2.1 amp chargers.
Anyway, I'm at a loss. I love the phone, I just hate the fact that I have to basically be tethered to a charger for 12 hours to get a charge that only goes to 98%. Any ideas or explanations of to why this is happening. I checked the battery threads here, but like I said or doesn't really match my setup. I appreciate any input.

I know you have tried different wall plugs but have you tried different cables?
It is possible you might have got a lemon.
Yeah, I've tried a few different cables, even tried bump charging like I did with my old incredible. When you say lemon, do you mean the battery or the phone itself? everything is working so well except for the charging.

Does the normal battery charge at a normal milli amp rate or do they both charge slowly? Also, how hot is the phone when it is charging slowly? The phone might be getting too hot and slowing the charge down to reduce heat
Honestly, I haven't actually used the stock battery. I'm not at home now, but when I can I will switch batteries and let you know what happens.
The temp is usually in the low 90s when charging. It actually increases during use. Right now, discharging the temp is at 107 and seems to be climbing.

Try the stock battery. We need to narrow it down to a phone or battery problem.
install current widget
tell us what the mah charging rate
check ur cable might damage or fake
So I ran down my battery until the phone shut off today. While I was waiting I wiped the battery stats five times. I'm currently charging the phone now and it's charging much faster. The ma when charging now is up where it should be. Ranging anywhere from 500 when I'm using the phone to over 1000 when I leave the phone alone. I don't want to speak to soon but maybe everything worked itself out. I got about six hours of use out of the battery, and that was with the screen on over 90% of the time. Not bad. I'll report back after a few charge and discharge cycles.

Settings/Power/Battery Status. With the OEM charger and cable, it should say "Charging (AC)." If it says "Charging (USB)," there's a problem, with charger, cable, the jack on your phone, or the firmware you're running.
My phone dropped to 7% battery. I let it charge for an hour with airplane mode on and it was at 4% battery. The orange light was on the whole time meaning it was charging. I then turned it off, took the battery out and it went to 13% battery. Soon it went back to 4%. I let it charge again for 2 hours this time and it hadn't moved at all and was still at 4%. I then swapped the stock battery for one from China. It started with 60% battery and after a half hour of charging it went to 54%. Why does my battery drain while it charges? I don't even use it when it's charging so I have no idea why it's draining. I'm running stock ics but it's rooted with 4ext. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Charge with AC not through an USB plugged to your computer. Your phone is using more battery than the USB port can provide. If you plug it in through the normal AC charger, it should be fine, as it gives out 1.0A, while USB ports typically give out anywhere between 200 to 500mA (at its absolute maximum).
I am using the ac. That message even appears when I use the ac.
Have you tried turning it of and charging?
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda app-developers app
I have tried that and it only turns on to what the battery was at before. As I typed this I went from 54% to 21% in about 10 minutes. This is really starting to piss me off. My phone cannot hold a charge. My motorola from 8 years ago could at least hold a charge. This is ridiculous. Thanks so far for the help.
Are you using the factory Amaze Cord to charge your phone?
My factory amaze cord stopped charging via ac. I had it plugged into the wall and it would say usb charging so I'm using a different kind of cord. I've never had a problem using my sisters blackberry cord plugged into the usb converter to ac.
Maybe....just maybe...your devices charging port is defected...
I have some charger from China that goes from the wall straight to my phone without using that charging port and it doesn't charge it either.
China should only be used for one thing...Chinese People
I tried another one of my batteries that had a 60% charge. Within 10 minutes the battery was dead. I have it charging and the orange led is flashing. I waited 20 minutes and tried turning it on. After several presses of the power button it finally turns on. As soon as it gets to the home screen the low battery sound beeps and it shuts down. Seriously what am I supposed to do? This is getting ridiculous.
Thanks.
Have you looked into doing a warranty exchange...

I have not. This has only happened 3 times or so since I got it a week or so after launch. I didn't suspect it to be a hardware problem. I think the person who suggested the bad power port was correct because my Chinese charger charged it full perfectly and it's been good. It just has to be held at a certain angle to charge. I'm going to go to Telus and try and get a new power port and see, maybe I could get an exchange. I have it rooted though, so would I have to unroot it get the exchange?
Thanks.
Step one, dim the phones lighting.
Then check to see if there's an app keeping the phone awake causing it to drain battery while charging,
If its not an app keeping it awake then you my friend are one of the unlucky owners of this picky phone...

So the phone stopped charging! Is there a way to open the damn thing, or I am screwed here? tried multiple chargers, no hope...
Never rooted, it's purely stock, so it's def a hardware issue..any ideas?
I have had one replaced after a similar issue.
Try charging it from a computer usb port with the stock cable. I think the battery charging logic is very strict when the phone is run flat. I never let mine run out any more.
IMHO you should ask for a replacement device, I also think this device is defective. Don't waste your time go to your provider or call HTC.
My phone went to 13% batter and I did not have the stock charger but a blackberry charger the phone was charging for 8hrs over night and did not go over 13% ...I called att for a replacement and att told me that a few people from HTC were talking about the one x plus and saying that people should t let the phone go past 50% battery which for me is extremely hard to do apparently its harder for the phone to charge
Anyways I bought a oem HTC charger and notice that the charging output was 1amp compared to the blackberry charger which was 0.5amps ....now my phone fully charges when at 14% battery to 100% in about two and half hours and seems to hold charge longer so I canceled the replacement....
So look into that oh and I used a iPad charging block once and the charging indicated usb charging only iPad charger is outputing at 2.5amps so amp specific is vital with this phone

WOW, WOW, hold it. The golden rule for a battery charging, the best charging power should be 10% of the battery capacity. That means, that HOX+ battery of 2100 mAh should be charged at maximum output of 2.1 A. Vah, don't catch me in theory, but more than 2.1 amp charger really damages your battery.
In my case though, it stopped charging randomly, battery was at around 40% when I noticed the problem. I tried different wall chargers, car charger, USB, the damn thing just stopped charging. Only option I have is to send it to HTC is and have them replace/repair it.
Charging Socket Is Loose!!!!

Just to add my sorry story in here too, over the Bank Holiday weekend i woke up to find my phone hadn't charged over night and is now dead as a dodo.
Tried multiple different charger attached it to my laptop and nothing but then i noticed that the lead was moving around in the socket when attached to the phone so i think something has broken internally!!
Can anyone tell me if this will be a warranty repair/replacement as i am calling my phone supplier this morning to get it replaired as i have only had the phone for 4 months?
Just don't wanna be caught out with "It's not covered under your warranty", speech from the supplier.
So last night I plugged my phone in and noticed it kept charging all night but would never go past 99%...so I did a factory reset and tried to charge it once more and still the same thing...I've tried the factory charger and a different aftermarket one that I only use for emergencies...so im wondering if it's a charger port thing or a battery issue...do you think the battery can be replaced under warranty?

Try discharging it to 50% and recharging it. The newer batteries won't charge to 100% unless they are below at least 85%
This has got to be an Android bug because i have noticed this same thing on 3 of my devices. Lg g5, the Huawei Mate 2, and an Asus Zenfone 2
