Just got my Le Max 2 . Hope for help from more experienced members. I dont speak or read Chinese.
Is an LeEco account., Le cloud Account useful to me ?.
I like ASOP and CM type android Roms, are any available yet ?
I have traffic monitor on status bar. No Account set up yet an just playstore only app installed and no sims, Just wifi and aeroplane mode. There is a lot of traffic !! Varies 0-800Byte/s, with nothing running, is that normal ? No where near as much traffic on my old phone with over 100 apps.
With no apps running in device manager it still has only 2G of 4 Ram available. Whats using 2 gig of ram ?
Thanks for any assistance
I think you need to wait for some time " hope not to long ".

Got my preregistered reliance evo 3d yesterday (which was changed from sprint to reliance) . Now I want to activate my cellphone but dint know how. The seller told me to go to reliance web world shop which is not yet available in my city yet. So can I activate my evo from my home? I searched here but just found a thread on "how to flash to reliance" . My phone is already flashed just want to activate it. And in settings my echo shows that my cell number is 9311111111. Is that correct? Please reply . And one last question , my evo shows that its total ram is 803mb which is used above 600mb always and free around 150mb . Is that right?

can't help much with reliance as i'm not familiar with them.
regarding the total ram, used and free, by going to settings->manage applications and click on the running tab, mine shows 220MB used and 500MB free. im on the stock sprint rom rooted but havent really customized anything yet. the amount of memory will of course depend on what you have loaded/running/installed. android manages memory differently than windows so the used/free amounts don't have the same meaning/impact they would under a windows environment.
it should also list the individual applications which are running/using memory.
Thanks for the reply friend but is it a bug in htc sense that it shows used as free and vice versa? you are right mine also shows nearly same in setting>Apps>running. But check the notifications bar ........open it >goto quick settings>select total memory and please tell me is it just my 3vo or the same with all of you...

total memory: 803MB. used: 693MB and free: 110MB .
show the same here as you do. when i tap on it, it opens up more detail in a "Task Manager". Only lists 5 apps for me, Internet (71MB), Maps (40MB), Gmail (29MB), Settings(25MB) and People(17MB). That list definitely doesn't seem all inclusive as those numbers don't add up.
My rough guess is Sense UI consumes a large chunk of RAM. If I had a usb cable, i'd run top thru adb shell and check the stats there also to see how they tie out. Can also use a 3rd party task manager from the market, there are quite a few free ones.
If I had a handy link to how android manages memory, I would link for you to read up on, but its definitely different than windows and I don't worry about the RAM numbers as much as when I first moved from windows mobile to android 1.5 yrs ago.
Google'd Android Memory Management a few good links appeared
http://mobworld.wordpress.com/2010/07/05/memory-management-in-android/ - Seems pretty decent and detailed!
In basic terms off the top of my head, Android will fill up memory as apps load and run. Android doesn't start killing processes until it reaches a very low level of free memory. I think the low level of memory threshold at which to kill processes is defined in /init.rc stored in the ramdisk of the kernel and there are tweaks to adjust that number.
Hope that helps!
Hey all, wasn't sure where to place this thread... hope its in the right place.
I plugged in an E1550 3g dongle in the usb slot on the dock. Ran the UMTS Manager app (root needed).
I'm in Portugal, and my 3g provider is Optimus Kanguru. So, for portuguese users, all you need to change is the profile to 'other', and the APN to 'kanguru-portatil'... keep DNS at 8.8.8.8... and just start it by clicking 'Verbindung herstellen!'
The E1550 dongle wasn't supported, but it still worked.
Others from different providers/countries should be able to use it too. Just search for what APN configuration you might need.
For me, entering websites happens pretty fast. I've seen in another thread where a user could surf but not download files/apps etc... I tested that, and yes, apparently the only thing you can do is surf the net, which i guess isn't bad at all.
Maybe there's a tweak to be able to download and use other apps...
Oh, almost forgot. I'm on stock .21 (rooted, but not unlocked)
Edit_1:
The app was updated, and now the interface can be in portuguese! Thanks Jörg Köhler (this app's creator)!
Edit_2:
You can use Mobile Counter App to measure the data traffic of your connection.
Other Info: Tested speed using OpenSignal app, and i got a ping of 319ms, max download of 2mbps, and 0 (zero) upload speed -.-
The things you can do/use with UMTS Manager's connection are:
- Youtube App (or other apps of the sort, like the dailymotion app)
- Surf Web
- Search Apps in Google Play (but not download/upgrade apps)
- Google Maps (but it cannot pinpoint your location)
- Google Earth
- Receive and send mail with the gmail app
(But you can only do it when the app opens... if you want to receive again, close the gmail app with the task manager, and open it again.)
(To send email, just write the mail you wanna send and click send. then you gotta close the gmail app with the task manager and open it again... it will then send the mail you wrote)
- You can download stuff from dropbox using the dropbox app!
That's about it for now... need more testing.
Would appreciate tremendously if anyone knew how to make it so we could download/upload freely as if we were using wifi.
probably only leaves port 80 open (html/web). Might be a way to forward all ports to 80?
My E261 is OK too.
I think all Huawei dongle can be supported, because all Huawei dongle have same AT command.
Thank you very much, sir!
I was trying to find out how to use a 3G dongle (Huawei E153) with my TF201 and your post solved the problem. I downloaded the UMTS Manager, made settings for my operator (Saunalahti Prepaid, Finland) and it works perfectly well
Thanks again, I found your information very valuable.
T-Mobile.mk (my provider) gave me an HUAWEI E173
spend a week looking for answer or "how to" for this
nothing there ...
(double eek) Just put mine Prime to re-charge
Jörg Köhler (the creator of UMTS Manager **root**) stated that it'll work ... so double eager to try this sw
Google Translate gave me
Code:
This is a UMTS stick on Asus Prime Transformer can be used.
As UMTS Stick have been tested, type:
HUAWEI E 160
[B]HUAWEI E 173[/B] [SIZE="2"](that's mine)[/SIZE]
HUAWEI E220
HUAWEI K3715
until I try it my guess is that it'll work
if it's working
Hell Yaeh for @eddymonti (OP) and Jörg
HUAWEI E 173 3G usb dongle from my T-Mobile.mk is not recognizable
any one with any thing .... much appreciated
I was referring to this method particularly http://techwalls.com/gadget/3g-usb-asus-transformer/
probably we gonna need some more experienced users
Not working on Orange Cameroun.
ohh they joy of being an aid worker !
Can't wait to go back to my LTE dongle in Canada !

Compatible with MiFi?
You guys mentioned that it is compatible across all Huawei Dongles. Would that also mean it is compatible with Huawei Pocket MiFis? (ex. Huawei E587). Thanks!

Isn't MiFis like the E587 a portable hotspot? I think that you just need wifi for those. This app is just for usb connected dongles.
Would this kill my att USA unlimited data? ... how are packets sent out....
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 2
Huawei E353 works
Just tried this and have got my Huawei E353 working but have the same as some previously stated problems.
Browsers seem to work fine and play store browsing but again cannot get some apps to connect.
My wifi is rubbish on the boat I work on, so the extra browsing speed while in mobile range is fantastic!
Hello everyone !
I have a problem that may have been addressed many times before. I do apologize, but the search didn't bring me needed answers. I also apologize for any bad english.
Here is the deal :
I am concerned with the "background data" the android os transfers via my mobile internet.
I rooted the phone, cleared all the useless .apk's from /system/app folder (even removed google play and as much of google stuff as i could), installed DroidWall and set very strict firewall rules ...
And still when i open data usage in settings menu, i see "android os" transfered 6.6mb in past 20 days. WHAT is that stuff ?!
I only use internet for stock e-mail, naked browser, internet radio, and wolfram alpha. Only those 4 applications should ever use the internet. I wish that not a single byte of data is ever EVER transfered besides the needs of these 4 applications. I do not want "Android Os" or any other background process connecting to any server on the internet "behind my back".
I am not very experienced in android os. But if it is required, i will learn how to flash another rom, to cook rom, learn and do anything i can to take COMPLETE control of the bandwith, if it is possible. Is it ? If it is, the main question and the reason i posted this thread is : HOW ? Just please do not assure me that that data is nothing to worry about, or ask me why do i care. If you can say nothing about solution, you can not help me.
The device is 2011 Xperia Pro (mk16i) and android version is 4.0.4
Thanks in advance !
There are some data between your phone and google server. Recall some phones have feature to disable background data. Not sure whether your phone have it.
You could try some tool to monitor what application creates link.

There is a built in tool "Data Usage" in the settings. It shows the 4 applications that i use with internet + Direct Push that checks email from microsoft server + Android OS in the list as well. I guess all the stuff going on "behind my back" is packed into Android OS. What tool do you suggest ?
There is "restrict background data" option. But when i select it - i get the warning that some apps will not work unless connected to wifi. The last part of this warning indicates to me that Aroid Os will still send the data. But only when connected to wifi. And i dont want it ever to send any data. Why would any data be sent to google server ? I disabled all synchronisation with google ...
You could also use the tool network monitor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmm.networkmonitor which wrote by my friend. It could find which application using your network. And could display the peer address.
I think some google application such as gtalk service are connecting google server background. No choice.

Hi. My name is Marco from Verona Italy, this is my first topic..
I need an APP that sends me a notification exceeded X Mb when I exceed the threshold. The top would be that the counter resets to zero at each connection, alternatively I'm fine with it resetting once the threshold is exceeded. I will have installed 10 APPs but I couldn't. Samsung told me that it is possible with the settings by enhancing the data usage threshold (because the counter is then reset to zero). In my opinion that everything is designed for the operator plans but not for my purpose.
Can anyone help me, please?
Italian forums can't help me, but XDA is the best, I' hope in a solution.
Thank you in advance.
Marco
Probably such an app doesn't exist.
