Hi!
I tried many apps to root my phone, but nothing has worked.
Is there any chance to get root permission for Mediacom PhonePad Duo S520? I'm on Lollipop 5.1.
Please help. :crying:
Thank you.

I hope so. ?
Finally I succeed in installing a non standard recovery and in getting root permission.
I don't know if someone is still interested in such device, but here is the material you need.
In the enclosed zip you'll find:
recovery.img: it's a PhiltZ touch recovery (based on CWM), the only one I got working because it uses the phisical buttons of the phone. In this device the touch is not working in recovery mode. I tested all the main functions (wipe, install, backup e restore), and they are all working, the minor ones are untested. This recovery reads and writes only from internal storage (not from the external SD). To install it, you need "SP Flash Tool", which can be downloaded from Mediacom site, in the relative device page.
MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin e MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt: are the "download-Agent" and the "Scatter loading file" you have to use in SP Flash Tool to flash the recovery. The scatter file is already setted to flash only the recovery, not other parts of the firmware. Be sure, before flashing, that only recovery item is checked in the Download page of SP Flash Tool, with the proper recovery path in "Location".
BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip: it's the zip archive to get root permission. Install it via recovery, after you have tested that the recovery is working for you.
recoveryORG.img: it's the original recovery, for restoring purposes. Install it (if you need to restore your phone to the original state) with SP Flash Tool, in the same way.
N.B.: Of course, I do not take any responsabilities about brick or problems may occur to your phone after using this material. . If you decide to use it, you do at your risk, aware that this type of changes always involves a minimum of risk if something goes wrong.
Herewith enclosed the archive:

On step 4, the Medion E4002 is a phone with EXT4 blocks, so use the cache block address from the scatter file as the Length.
Step 5 is not required for the Medion E4002 as it uses EXT4 blocks.
Make sure you follow the instructions carefully as an error could brick the phone.
Once the Custom ClockworkMod Recovery is downloaded onto the phone, you can then boot into the Recovery by holding Vol+ and the Power button together.
Using CWM Recovery, make a backup so you can restore the phone if required.
While still in CWM Recovery, run MtkDroidTools.
On the 'root, backup, recovery' tab, click on the SuperUser button which will install SuperUser and root the phone.
Remember, there is always a risk of bricking a device when rooting or loading new firmware so use at your own risk.
Update: Here is the Recovery that includes ClockworkMod Recovery that I used to download to my phone along with the scatter file that was used.
Thanks for this Athua, it's good to know it's possible to get root on this phone. I'll give it a go in the next couple of days. Hope you're around to help when I get stuck!
Cheers.

As I have included the CWM recovery I used, there is no need to make it again. You can use the recovery and scatter file from the first post and download it to your phone using the Flash Tool.
The trick is that the phone needs to be completely powered off when using the SP Flash Tool. It even works without the battery in the phone.

Hi Athua
Thanks for these instructions. But it would be great if you can rewrite them with a bit more detail. I'm getting very confused between your instructions and the instructions of the other forum's link that you've incorporated.
Also, do the text-file and image-files that you've included at the bottom of your post, override any of the other instructions? And if so, which ones?

Need help restoring Medion E4002
Through the incorrect use of SPTools I have managed to get my phone into the state that it won't boot, charge or even be recognized by the device manager in windows. Prior to my screwup I was seeing the Mediatek USB VCOM in device manager now I get nothing.
The reseach I have done suggests that I will have to find a test point and short it to ground. Question I have is there anybody out there know where this test point can be found OR is there an other way to go about this.
Any help will be appreciated ....

Update: kingRoot is working now.
So. I deceided to join this forum in order to ask for some help from all those people I saw while searching the net.
I have to admit I am quite a noob with mobile systems, although I have gone way too far the last 3 days!
Here is the problem: I have an mt6575 processor phone in which want to add Greek Language settings. I have downloaded a folder form the manufacture's site, but it didn't contain any instructions. Just some .bin files (ALICE.BIN VIVA.bin, SANSTAR50_6464_11B_BOOTLOADER_V005_MT6250_MAUI_11B_W11_32_SP_V1.bin and ZIMAGE_ER.bin)and a scatter file that can not be read by flash tool (scatSANSTAR50_6464_11B.txt).
After a lot of reading around here and a lot of other forums and sites I realised that in order to do anything, I had to root my phone. I wasn't able to do it through superclick or mtk droid tools so I followed the instructions I found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490&styleid=18
However, I am stuck on the final step.. I can't seem to get my phone on cwm mode... In fact I am not sure I know what exactly this is. I manage to open my phone on the android recovery utility but I am not able to make any choice. Everytime I press some of the menu's choises an android robot with an exclamation mark fills the screen and nothing happens...
Anyway..even if I manage to finalize the rooting process.. I still don't know what to do with the files I have... should I use them somehow on flash tool?
By the way.. The files come with a tool called Multiport Download Flash Tool which looks like Sp flash tool but has too many port options.
I'd be glad if someone helped me with this!
Thank you in advance,
Irene
1. Dump your stock recovery image then make a cwm or twrp (preferably twrp) from yueweng's thread for mediatek devices via old cwm or twrp port tool
2. Flash it via sp flash tool (download MTK 6575 scatter from internet)
3. Then reboot into recovery and if in twrp then reboot and it will ask you to root it or not
Or
If in cwm then download supersu Flash zip file and flash it
You have root access now
Press thanks if helped
Hey all.
Easy question I hope! I've been following the guide to unbrick MTK devices, and have managed to get an original factory ROM to flash to the phone, green tick in SP Flash Tools. However, the phone still won't power on at all, save for the light if plugged into usb.
The ROM I've been using is an original factory rom named "ONE-TOUCH-4015X_POP_C1_FULL_STOCK_BACKUP" which is readily available online. I'm not sure what I did to brick it in the first place, but it was within SP flashtool. I May have formatted accidentally.
If someone coudl help I'll try to provide all logs or files requested but please tell me where these could be found as I'm not that good with flash tool.
To confirm the phone won't boot into any mode, recovery is dead, fastboot is dead....
same problem hope somone help us

Hello!
This thread is quite old but near my case.

I have a backup of this device made with "SP Flash Tool V5.1532.00" but I've error "not enough space" when

Same error when I try to restore just one file.
For example, I've tried to restore only the "Stock Recovery" you give above.
I do this:
- I start Flash_Tool v5.1532.00
- I open scatter file from my backup done with the same tool
- I unselect all pieces of the backup except "Recovery" and I browse to the "Stock Recovery" file I've dl
from this thread.
I've got this error : "not enough storage space (1011)"
What could be the problem ?
I makes me totally crazy !

4015X unbricked !
Hello,
I found a similar solution here (replace * with . to get a correct http link):
forum*gsmhosting*com/vbb/f317/ot-4015x-firmware-arabic-bulgaria-africa-kenya-1946694/index2.html
It took me hours to find good stock ROMs (bulgarian & arabian then french via OTU) !
You'll have to "play" with pro_info and scatter file...
Good luck to all to unbrick your 4015x !

Since there is no way to root this phone using known root apps or MTK Droid Tools (which won't even make proper scatter file) is there at least some CWM / TWRP available? MTK DT says there is a way to root this phone from CWM but I have no idea where to look for it. I found something for Doogee x5 which has MT6580 (without M) but I'm afraid of doing it, I'm not sure how much different MT6580 and MT6580M are

Root it with the KingRoot app. Don't forget that you must turn USB Debugging on BEFORE you attempt to root it. Once it is rooted, leave USB Debugging on. Also, you should then install Busy Box X from the Play Store. Run Busy Box X and elect to install the busybox.
Then install Flashify from the Play Store. Flashify will not work properly unless you completed the installation of busybox in the system. With Flashify, you can back up the stock boot image (also referred to as the kernel image) and the stock recovery image. Save a copy of the back up files on your computer for safekeeping.
Then go back to MTK Droid Tools (make sure USB Debugginh is still on). Now select the Root, Backup, Recovery tab. Then click on the big button that says "Recovery and Boot." This will make the custom recovery for you. During the process, you will be asked to select the boot image file. Just point to the backup you made of the BOOT image from Flashify.
When the MTK Droid is done its thing, you will now have a CWM recovery for your phone. You will find it in the subfolder called "recovery" under the MTK Droid Tools folder. You will also find a "boot patched" image. You can now flash the new CWM recovery image and the new boot image to your phone by copying those files to your SD card and using Flashify to flash the images. Be careful! Do not make a silly error such as flashing the recovery image to the boot partition or you will soft-brick your phone. Flash recovery image to recovery and boot image to boot.
Don't forget to thank me by clicking the Thanks button if I have helped you. And feel free to follow up with any questions.
I'd like this to be so easy but any root app either PC or android version is failing to root this phone. Only SRSROOT is showing that phone is rooted successful but of course it's not true. I checked with Root checker and it says that root it's not properly installed and SU won't install since there is no root at all.
Also MTK Droid Tools won't detect my chipset in 100%. Won't let me root it there or show those tabs you mentioned. Someone somewhere said that MT6580 isn't fully supported yet and I guess it's true. I can modify config files so program will detect my phone that's why I could use option to make scatter file (which wasn't right one anyway).
Guess I will have to wait little longer to finally get root and recovery for this phone. But it's kinda strange that there is no way to actually root MT6580M but DOOGEE x5 with MT6580 has cwm and root already. I was thinking of using this DOOGEE things to root my phone but at the end I passed. Not worth bricking my only phone.

Use the KINGROOT app. Read what is written CAREFULLY. It is not the kingOroot app. These are two completely different root apps. KingRoot will root you Wiko Lenny 2. KingoRoot will NOT. So, no, you don't have to keep dreaming. Just do it!

Sorry to hear that. In that case, you may have to do it the hard way.
Use MTK Droid to extract the scatter.txt file (assuming it can get a clear, meaningful scatter). Then use SP Flash Tool to read back a full ROM dump of the phone. Process the ROM dump with MTK Droid. During that process you can create the CWM for the phone. If you have the CWM recovery image, then flash it back to the phone using SPF. Finally, boot into recovery and flash the SuperSu v2.46 zip from your SD card and it should be fully rooted.
This whole process will take the major part of 2 hours. The key is getting the scatter.txt and CWM for the phone. If you are able to do it, post those two files so others can benefit.
Of course, all of this depends on whether the MTK 6580 chipset is compatible with MTK Droid and with SP Flash.
Anyone wanna volunteer check whether the phone works with MTK Droid and SP Flash...then giving the process a go if the compatibility checks out? There's always the risk of bricking the phone at the point you flash the custom recovery or when you install SuperSu from the zip. But you can easily revive it with the firmware backup you make with SP Flash.

Well here it is folks...Hanuma has posted the TWRP for the phone! So no need to root the phone the hard way as indicated in my last post. Also, perhaps SP Flash is compatible with the phone (there is firmware and a flash tool provided in a link by Hanuma...not sure if that's SP Flash or some other flash tool). @hanuma...can you provide some clarity here?
So the EASY way to get root is to flash the TWRP recovery to the phone (you'll need the scatter.txt file to use with SP Flash...or use the flash tool cited by Hanuma). Once you flash this custom recovery, download the SuperSu v2.46 to your SD card, and install it from the SD. You should be fully and properly rooted after that.
Remember to first make a BACKUP of your ROM with the flash tool before anything else. This way, you can recover if you make a mistake.
Could someone please post the scatter.txt for the Lenny 2? And confirm whether the flash tool in that link is SP Flash. Good luck.

The second link is only a ROM-Build... i can´t find a flashtool or something looks like a tool... there are only *.img files for recovery, system, etc.... (screenshot attached!!!)
Where i can find a flash tool?

I flashed the recovery succsessfully first time but the touchscreen was without function... so i flashed the recovery a second time but the touch screen don´t react, too ... now i tested it the third time with the same result...

Not good! Why is nothing as easy as it should be? That's one reason I hate touch recoveries.
Well since you have all the stock firmware files for the phone, it should now be a trivial task to create your own CWM recovery. Just fire up MTK Droid Tools and connect your phone to the computer via USB cable (make sure USB Debugging is on).
When MTK sees your phone, simply click on the Root, Backup, Recovery tab and the big button (called Recovery and Boot) and MTK Droid will make the CWM recovery image for you. Make sure the little radio button marked "To choose the boot.img file" is checked. During the process, it will ask you to select the boot.img from that firmware folder. It needs that kernel to create the perfect custom recovery for your phone.
Then flash only the new CWM recovery to the phone using the SP Flash Tool, just as you did with the TWRP recovery. Once you've got CWM on there, you can flash the SuperSu zip (this CWM recovery uses only the buttons).
Please post the CWM recovery image, the stock recovery and the scatter.txt file after you've confirmed that it works. That way others on the thread can flash the CWM and root their phones without having to download the huge set of firmware files.

Flashing the CWM file works problemless...
CWM and navigation with buttons works great too........but...... i have flashed the SuperSU_2.46 successfully.... after that the phone stucks on Bootlogo "LENNY2"... (i wait around 20min)
Nothing works after that, so i decides that it´s a goog idea to flash the hole rom V14 ... the device need a loog time to boot (ca. 15min) and now i have to rebuild my settings and apps... but thats ok...

That's great progress. At least you're back up and running! Good for you. After you're done rebuilding settings and so on, flash the SuperSu zip again. Then let us know if you're rooted.

Would anyone help me get root on doogee bl 12000? This is a version without a pro so this is a different topic than this one.
No kingoroot or framaroot programs work.
I have flashtoola and rom for this phone. I tried using adb to upload files with the 12000 pro doodge but there was always some error.
I also tried to upload files via flashtoola and recovery. However, without success.
Root Doogee BL12000
Hallo there. I'm trying to root my Bl12000. I've got a TWRP from twrp builder. It works, but whatever zip file I'm trying to install I always get "failed to mount data", invalid argument. The twrp also tells me, that there's bo OS installed, but there is. Phone is working fine after reboot. SuperSu can't be installed. Full wipe is not possible, also "failed to mount" and so on.
any help ?
Tia, Chris
I think it's the encryption. Any ideas how to remove it?
Installed twrp via fastboot and sp flash tool, but I can't boot phone into it. Searched dozens of sites, no success. Flashed the twrp again with sp flash tool and according to sp it was successful. I tried several ways to boot the phone into it afterwards, no luck
My goal is to root this phone only. I'm not very experienced so if anyone could please give me a hand here and tell me where or what I'm doing wrong, that'd would be great and much appreciated. Thanks.
Ok. If I flash the twrp with Sp flash tool and type "fastboot reboot" on the adb console, sending the command while I hold vol+ and power-, the phone boots into the twrp. Next time it will be gone, so I have to flash it again. Noticed that, done.
But all this is taking me nowhere, because the encryption still prevents me from installing any zip file or format a partition. Yuck ?
Root Bl12000
Since the SuperSu method took me nowhere I decided to try Magisk. And.......HURRAY !!!!!!.......it worked.....for a moment. Booted the patched boot.img and got superuser. But with the first reboot I got stuck in bootloop. Tried again, in case I missed something, but same ****.
IT WORKS !!!!! My mistake was to assume, that Magisk works the same way as rooting with SuperSu does. So after rooting with Magisk I tried to install root apps as I was used to, but Magisk does not work that way.
Well, it'll take me awhile to figure this out ?
Why does an app keep coming back on my phone after I have done factory reset?

This Recovery is only supported for Doogee BL12000
You should have either PC or Laptop.
Make sure to charge your phone for at least 50%.
Download and install latest Doogee USB Drivers on your PC/Laptop [All Android USB Drivers]
Download the SP Flash Tool Software
VCOM driver: Download – Instal the VCOM Driver on your computer (still compatible with MT67xx phones)
Before flashing a custom recovery, you need to unlock the bootloader on Doogee BL12000
Take a full backup just in case if you need it later
