Just got the Zenwatch 2 and its great. However, when I take a call on the watch the speaker crackles pretty bad. I do not notice while playing music. Is this normal or should the sound be clear?

This speaker is super loud and has relatively good sound. What do you expect, a mini subwoofer?

This is only a smart phone. Granted, it's a very - very good one. However, it's not a DJ's workstation. It's a phone. Use headphones if you're so bothered. And not the ones they give you in the box because obviously those aren't that amazing.
Always buy a good quality pair.
If you're talking about the sound quality of the ring when you're getting a phone call, don't beat the phone up about it. When you get a phone call, you pick it up to stop the ring. You don't sit there listening to it!
This is the one of the best speakerphone speakers I've had on a phone (outside of my older blackberry). iPhone speaker is awful, and the mic. is even worse.
Sounds like you have something wrong.
Bit of an odd one. My EVO 3D UK model stock ROM is not playing sound though the built in speaker. All is well if I plug in headphones and I can hear in call sound through the built in speaker just not other stuff like the phone ring or media playback Music Video and Games....
Any ideas?
Now sorted see post 3
Music, videos, games, and I think the ringtone all use the larger speaker built into the back of the phone. Your in-call audio would be coming from a different speaker. Have you tried taking a phone call and putting it on speakerphone to see if you can hear it? Your rear speaker probably went out.

You're quite correct, I hadn't noticed that. Tanks for pointing that out. Sure enough in a call I put it on speaker and it all went silent.
I've just had a play and taken the cover off the rear. A quick poke and rub of the speaker/cover on the rear and sound is again working. It must be a poor contact or similar in that area. I'll have to keep an eye on it.
Anyone have white noise when using headphones? I hear it when using an in-ear type of noise isolating ear buds, and only hear it when the audio is active (ie whenever the table is making a sound like adjusting volume, keyboard touch sounds), but otherwise is dead quiet. I can also hear it over quiet music, but otherwise I guess the music covers it up.
Quick update. Tried with a different pair of headphones. Definitely better. I am sure the white noise is there, but I can't hear it with this pair of headphones.
Haven't notice this with, say, the nexus 5.
Yeah, I'm having the same issue with any low impedance headphones. When listening to silent music or videos I can nearly not hear it over the noise. On every action I make the headphones are activated and I instantly hear the white noise.
Also the volume for the headphones is pretty high (levels 1-3 are bearable but above it's too loud, and level 1 is too loud when in a silent environment). I don't know if it's a software issue, but it's definitely making using headphones horrible.
Tried this with Apple EarPods and Sennheiser In-Ear headphones. It's better with open headphones but unbearable with in-ear.
omacha
Yes i am getting a lot of noise with in-ear headphones too.
I guess for now only high impedance headphones will be silent.
I also get this on my Bluetooth headphones. Same thing on my Nexus 7.

My 14 days is nearing it's end and I've all but decided I will keep the phone.
That said, I have a few gripes, minor, however moving forward with the knowledge that I will be keeping this phone in my pocket for the next year or so I want to bring one to the attention of XDA community.
I have been streaming Pandora while in my car for the past three days when driving to work and school and such, not through an aux cord but through the speaker itself and I have noticed that the speaker is QUIET! So quiet that I can actually barely hear it on MAX volume when compared to every other phone I have had, including my G3. Is anyone else experiencing this, and if so does it bother you like it does me? I don't have a large car, in fact a small one with a small cabin and with my G3 was able to hear it loud and clear.
I have also noticed a very tinny sound to the speaker when it plays things such as notifications, however that has gone almost completely away after the first couple days.
Gotta try viper4android with a quality irs file. without it, imo the speaker is literally unusable volume wise Even stock (no viper), the actual sound produced is very clear, just near silent.
LG made a major mistake with this part of the phone imo
My observations I the speaker:
1. The volume sucks for music.
2. It is better for ringtones.
3. Its perfectly acceptable for speakerphone.
4. At higher volumes, some of the ringtones, reveal a bit of distortion, which seems to reveal a poor quality, low-power speaker and lack of any significant internal acoustic housing for it.
This may be a compromise required to accommodate the additional DAC/Amp combo for the 3.5mm output, as I believe they reside in the same area.

Installed Dolby Atmos, really helped with speaker. You can also edit your mixer_paths.xml. It's in system>etc

For someone without root I wonder if I might have to go down that road eventually... The speaker is really quiet.
I agree, @JCred. On all accounts.
I will look around on the Play Store, however that's a struggle as is. Not many sound apps actually work that do not require root it seems.
I have a difficult time hearing when driving and using speaker. My car is a loud though, but I still feel it should have just a little more volume.

Whenever listening to songs on my grand 2 voice clearty is poor but after removing the back battery case cover you can feel the difference in clearity of sound because grand 2 has 2 part of speaker but back cover has only one way for output which cause poor audio quality guys is this any solution or what is use of only one way of speaker output ?
