HI,
I want to see if the problem is only with me. Right now I'm really disappointed from Samsung. here shows comparison of camera quality:
iphone 4:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGAteITuZVo&feature=player_embedded#at=59
s2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TFm93qvGnU&feature=player_embedded#at=65
Quality absolutely awful compared to the iPhone 4, there are quite strong background noise (Even I was recording in a completely quiet room I can hear background noise)...
* I will note that the Hacked Camera.APK mod of Potatoman still did not help
Is my cell phone is broken or simply Samsung had blown it???
it seems that you were standing right infont of the left loud speaker, were with the iphone it seams the guy way in the middle. so it wont get so much distortion.
I have the same problem with my S2 when the outside audio level is high.
NIK516
i far from the speakers , the iphone 4 is closer to the speakers
and you can hear the different.
and i have more video that you can hear that iPhone better if you wants..
i try to fix the S2 problem mic record not to compare.
thanks
Are you certain you installed the Camera.apk correctly? 6 seconds should equal roughly 12Mb (stock is about 9). If anything this is either the modded camera (When I used it the audio was very shrill, much like the video you recorded. This is due to the larger sampling and bit rates.), Samsung screwed up (maybe this is just how the mic records), OR you were standing in a poor location (the two video weren't recorded in the same place from the look of it).
I think that being close to a speaker should not be a problem if the auto-volume adjustment worked properly. What we are trying to understand here is if this is just a problem with our devices or a general issue. Is there anybody who can confirm that videorecording live music performances with the S2 does NOT produce distorted audio?

Same problem here as well...
same problem, please help
Same problem! I would love to see a fix for that. Even a little bit of wind will screw up the sounds completely. I'm also looking for an external mic now....
It looks like you can't use an external mic either...

I just did a test with 2 different earbuds w/mic. the Camera app doesn't seem to use the external microphone when recording video, it just uses the internal mic. When I used the voice recorder app it does indeed use the external mic and makes a huge difference.

I have the same problem (record in a quite room with no noise, then when i play it back there's a hiss)
I've checked Youtube and there's only 1 video demonstrates this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pePAqjgugHM
Now is this a fault with the phone or can I fix it? Just wanted to ask before I send it back to Samsung.
The white noise (hissing sound) comes from a plastic piece inside the phone that is over the microphone. Removing it removes the white noise. You cannot do this without voiding the warranty, so bringing it down to the service center would be a good idea.
The plastic piece over the mic is like cupping your ears with your hands. HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Now that I am on Android 2.3.4, recording video using an external microphone works. I used your headphone mic and I got rid of the distortion. Has anyone tried the Brando Mini Capsule Microphone (or any other mini microphone) on their SII?
Hey guys,
I’ve just bought myself a white GSIII and has recently noticed that if I play sounds from any source (YouTube, Videos Player, Music Player, ringtone) etc, on near maximum volume, the sound on the loudspeaker becomes a bit distorted/ muffled. It plays fine on low volumes. I wonder if it was the way the metal plate grill on the loudspeaker was designed; how it has a lot of small holes on it and perhaps these limit the amount of noise coming out from it.
Does any of you guys experience a similar issue?
Thanks in advance.
Proper etiquette aside (hint: don't use speakerphone while doing your "business" in a public bathroom), rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's speakerphone performs. A higher rating indicates that you love it: it's loud and it's clear.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Comparing it to my edge+, less loud, less clear.
Waiting for root to change the mixer_gains file
It's a solid 7.5
The speaker is crap

Perhaps because of the water proof properties of the phone?

Not necessarily..
The Xperia Z line of phones were water resistant, and they had speakers that were fine. Granted, they were low in volume (max volume wasn't very high really..), but they sounded very nice.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I'd say that the volume is fine but it's not the best quality. I'm quite fussy with speakers as I listen to many podcasts via the speaker. I'm reasonably happy. Better than Z5, worse than 6P.
hows it compared to s6 edge??

Am using the s7 edge exynos and comparing to my s6 edge plus...They both are loud
In terms of clarity however, the s6 edge beats the s7 edge. I think this is due to the water resistant material used in the s7 edge
Judging coming from an S6 edge to S7 edge.
Headphones, the S6 edge was louder and clearer.
Speaker, S6 edge is much better. Luckily I barely use the speaker.
Bluetooth, loudness and quality is the same.
I haven't tried Adapt Sound yet on the S7 edge, as I did with the S6 edge. Maybe that would make a difference once I do.
When play music or video in high volume , Speaker was distortion.
Quite weak: low sound level and avergage souynd quality.
I am geting buz
Few day back I am getting a small buz noise can any one had idea about that
Night and day coming from an m9. Samsung needs to step up their game.
The quality of the speaker is not the best , but it's OK. I got used to it, and I like how level of loudness - S7 Edge is louder than my previous phone - Sony Xperia Z2.
S7 Edge loudspeaker volume is soft or low
Loud Speaker is a bit disappointing. Even the volume is 100%, the sound is bit low. Hopefully an updated ROM will help to resolve the issue. Nevertheless, this is a great, superb phone.
Mine's loud, and the quality is fine (for a phone). I haven't noticed any distortions or anything, so I'm starting to wonder what the hell you people are doing with your phones. I can hear it when it's ringing and I have no issues with clarity or volume when I watch videos.
I have the Exynos version (gold), built on March 15th (in Vietnam).
+ 1 Mine is also very loud. I have had many phones HTC 7, 8 LG 2,3,4 Galaxy S3,S5,S6 Note 3 and 5. This may not be as clean as the HTC's but it is louder. I'd say its a toss up in loudness vs the LG's. LG G4 may have been a tad louder. What separates this phone from the rest (other than note 5) is the volume booster option when using speakerphone (very handy for the work I do). Very happy with volume and quality of sound. Probably hands down best phone I have ever owned and can't believe I am saying that without root. If the screen were flat it would be the perfect phone for me, but its close enough.
I have the gold verizon version SD820 built in Korea
[Exynos] I think the headphone quality is quite good (barely, if even, noticeable change from s6 edge), speaker is not as good Im afraid, probably has to do with the waterproof mesh inside.
It's a phone speaker, and it's good for what it is. People are claiming it's bad, but I don't know what they're using it for, audiophile engineering maybe?
If you want proper sound get a pair of decent headphones. Make no mistake tho, the speaker on this is more then decent in terms of loudness and "clarity".
Just got the Zenwatch 2 and its great. However, when I take a call on the watch the speaker crackles pretty bad. I do not notice while playing music. Is this normal or should the sound be clear?
Hi, is there a way to enable the ear piece speaker with the main speaker to have a little stereo sound to our galaxy mega 6.3 like the note series and the galaxy S5? Any help would be great
