I have recently rooted my Pro without unlocking bootloader and have also been able to get TWRP up and running. However I get bootloops if i flash xposed. Is there anyone here who has managed to get xposed working on their bootloader locked phone? I'm on 7.2.7 Stable currently.
which one did you tried to flash ?

Hi guys,
I've just unlocked my device and want to root. Not particularly bothered about flashing custom ROMs, but I do want to root the device and clear out some of the stock apps that I don't use.
Info:
- MIUI 8 Stable
- 8.0.1.0 LAICNDG
I'm running the 3GB/32GB version of the device, if this helps.
What do I need to do from here? I've seen lots of different info on different sites but thought XDA would be the best place to get a definitive answer..
I need to install TWRP (easy enough if it's just flashing via fastboot in terminal) and then flash SuperSU or some sorts.
Any help is appreciated.
All you need is download MIUI Developer ROM for your device (Redmi 3)..
Developer ROM is pre-rooted, you can enable root access in Security (this is an app) > Permissions > Root Access.. #CMIIW

Thanks - I did try this in the past before MIUI8 was officially released but could not get Gapps working on it at all so reverted to Stable 7. Now on Stable 8 though. Is there a way of rooting the stable build?

I use MIUI 8 Global Stable and tried to root it using TWRP + SU but no luck, it's just stuck on boot screen, and haven't found any tools/ways to root Global Stable Version..
Just try current Global Developer ROM (MIUI 8), it's should be fine..

Hi I'm really new to Xiaomi phone, and I'm trying to do some flashing to other custom ROM. I have some basic knowledge flashing custom ROM with my previous phone. So I want to ask, in case I got bootloop, what should I do? Is it just usually clearing cache on TWRP?

i have somewhat similar question. i currently rooted and TWRP installed. flashed few CM roms but i came back to MIUI (nothing beats MIUI)
My current version-
Android version-5.1.1 LMY47V
MIUI version- MIUI Global 8.0 Stable 8.05.0(LHOMIDG)
For Marshmallow there are 2 roms one Global and one China
1) which one to download?
2) can i flash the rom directly with TWRP if i download the recovery version over my current rom?
3) how stable is the roms. what doesnt work and what works.

hi frnds pls tell me the easy method to root redmi note 3
You can flash su addon. Or flash MagiskSU
Root. You can root with this guede (look in experimental section), without unlocking bootloader and never need to unlock it for flashing custom roms

I don't recommend rooting MIUI because it can have many problems, you can try a custom ROM like lineage OS and root it, I feel that's easier.

Maybe yes, it showed that it is active but every module install resulted in a boot loop.

Agree. If you're running MIUI, better run (&/or wait for) Xiaomi.eu's MIUI
I just updated from Miui10 8.9.7 (8.1) to 8.9.11 (9.0) with booting TWRP through fastboot and using TWRP to update. Worked great, no need to wipe data, kept everything as was!

Right after install rom you hv to install Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt. After that install magisk.

Little question,
can I install this with locked bootloader and without wiping my data?
At the moment, I am on latest global stable 9.6.7.0
I tried to use the updater app, but I got error message, that I can't flash new android version (9) from 8.1. So maybe I can dirty-update older version with 8.1 and update through updater?

Flash dm-verity disabler after flashing magisk, everything works fine, and in the google settings my phone shows that its certified ?
Has anyone figured-out how to root these? Is there a way that won't cost me any money?
Bro try old version of magisk and flash through recovery
I tried old one it worked for me but the problem is sound not works after rooting.so i flashed official rom and cleared data.
Try install europe release version 12 MIUI. Use Magisk 20.4.
It's working for me
Hello @jarko88 , I'm running 12 but my 8a doesn't have ramdisk. Can you help with hints? I have not tried with Europe release though. Tried patching recovery with Magisk but nothing works
