I'm now using the XT1521 variant(asian version of Moto e LTE) on JIO 4G network.(which supports voice over lte aka volte).
But the problem is that theres no rom available except stock marshmallow ota update which supports volte calling right now in this device(I guess,But if theres any rom working with volte feature please post this in the thread).
***MY EXPERIENCE WITH ROMS FOR VOLTE CALLING***
Working on-Stock OTA Marshmallow update.
call gets connected but no audio on-pac rom(latest alpha official from shreps's website)
call does not even get connected-cyanogen,caf,flymeos etc. etc.
Does anyone have any fix for this issue???
N.B:-This is my first thread

If any1 has tried this please let me know..

AFAIK Surnia (XT1521) supports band 40 by default. Dial *#*#4636#*#* and check Phone information. You will find radio/band settings there.

Where are u from.?
which sim card are u using.?
do u know which band is used by that sim.?
I am using jio sim card which uses band 40 for volte i.e. voice over lte, which allows us to make calls.
well, Latest stock rom didn't support this feature, whenever I tried to call any number, msg pops call ended.
well, this happens only with this sim, I tried my other sim cards they working fine.
and also I asked some people on xda about this, all of them are facing this problem.!

Guys, VoLTE calls confirmed working with "JioJoin" app on XT1521. Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jio.join&hl=en
Stock dialer doesn't support it at the moment, nor is it probably going to.

Yeah, I noticed my "Enhanced" LTE mode was turned off. My bad.
I'm also using surnia xt1526 which belongs to Sprint and LTE band supported are
B2 (1900 PCS) LTE
B5 (850) LTE
B26 (850 +) LTE
B41 (TD 2500) LTE
Currently I'm running CM13 and I had noticed in advanced menu I saw a option "TURN OFF VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG" is that something related to VoLTE??
and one more it's possible to flash stock asian firmware on xt1526 because I had flash it once without any issue. But it'll show dual sim option and there's nothing to worry about it.

I'm sorry if wasn't polite, but linking to other's ROMs is very serious problem.
Anyway, can you provide the ROM from which you port this? Can you try to compile a ROM from source? I'm asking because I'm not a dev.

Hi, I'm about to buy this phone, and I'm very interested by your work.
I see you list "2G on second SIM" in the bugs, what does it mean exactly ? The second SIM does not work at all ? Or if it works, what are the limitations ?
The other bug "screen mirroring", what is it ? You mean maybe screen orientation ? Or is it the ability to do screen casting (display the phone on a TV for example) ?
Thanks in advance for the clarifications.

2G on second SIM means only 2G network will be available on the second SIM. You won't be able to connect to 3G/4G on it as you otherwise will.
Screen Mirroring is screen casting. Yes to TVs, etc.

Perfect, I was actually not aware the second SIM could work in 3G/4G, 2G is enough for me
Another question, if I understand correctly, you actually used an AICP ROM compiled from source for Redmi note 2 and modified it (but without compiling anything) to make it work for K3 note, am I right ? Do you know if the source for the original ROM for Redmi note 2 is available ? I'd be interested to try to compile it myself. Also I'm interested to know what modifications you needed to do to make it work for the K3 note.

No. Both the SIMs support 2G/3G/4G but you can 3G/4G on only one SIM at a time. This ROM won't support that. That's bug. I hope it's clear.

Of course ! I didn't say I intended to run the unmodified version on the K3 note, just that I would first compile it like this, just to make sure I'm able to do that and have every required sources.

Hello,
I bought Redmi Note 3 to enjoy Reliance Jio services. I don't like the MIUI skin and prefer AOSP look.
I read that there is a zip that enables VOLTE, but finger print doesn't work.

What steps do I need to take?

I am having fully activated Reliance Jio (4G) sim and using xioami.eu rom 6.5.5 (MIUI 7.4).

Download right TWRP, depending upon the way you have unlocked bootloader basis this thread. I used Safe TWRP as mine in unofficially unlocked.
Post that take backup for future and go ahead with factory reset and installation of sMIUI. The first boot takes time.

Making VoLTE Work
Hello,
I had MIUI8 v6.7.28 and VoLTE was working.. Because of battery drain issue moved to sMIUI v6.7.21 and VoLTE was not working. But then learnt from fellow users if MIUI8 v6.7.21 that VoLTE was working for them..
Searched forums and read couple of posts at en.miui.com of same issue.. VoLTE working for some and not working for others.
Just to clarify, for all these people, there was always the option to enable VoLTE under "Sim cards & mobile networks. But even after enabling VoLTE, people were not seeing the sign in Status BAr or able to make VoLTE calls. Somewhere I read that sometimes swapping of SIM from Slot 2 to Slot 1 helps... For me it was reverse.. Jio (VoLTE capable sim) was in Slot 1 only. But since there was no harm in trying I went ahead.
What I did to make VoLTE work was following:
1) Swapped SIM - it was in SIM slot 1 and I put in SIM slot 2
2) Booted in recovery and wiped cache
3) Booted the phone and went to settings to enable VoLTE option
4) After few mins... yes mins... I saw icon HD in my phone.
And bingo, was able to make HD (VoLTE) calls from my Jio sim.
Hit thanks if you found my post helpful :good:

I have lineage-14.1-20171001 on my op2.
Till now I had to use a heavy(drains a lot of battery & cpu) app for Volte functionality (on Reliance Jio ).
I went through some threads on how to get volte working on lineageOS(op2) and found this one
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/how-to-get-volte-on-lineage-os.505343/page-2
Someone posted oos firmware links : https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=53150 by @Spannaa
I flashed OOS 3.6.0 firmware and Volte started working!!
And I got a new "HD" icon on the status bar as well as "Device is HD capable" notification.
I tried calling using the dialer and it was smooth.
Sorry if it's an obvious solution , just wanted to share.
EDIT1: I have franco kernel ( if that helps )

I assume this is for Indian market with A2003 model of the phones, right? I'm in US market with A2005 model and I cannot get VoLTE on any custom ROM, except OOS 3.6.0...

After flashing did you enable the "enhanced 4g lte mode" from your SIM settings ?

It was already enabled by default. I've been reporting this issue for about a year now... There is no solution as far as I know, but thanks for trying. Back on OOS now... Till I get a new device as I really have no choice.

Damn! I hope lineage makes one working volte build by combining new oos firmware but I am still confused why the same method is not working for your phone ? What's the difference between a2003 and a2005 except memory ?

As far as I know everything is identical even memory. The only difference is with 4G/LTE network bands.
A2003:
LTE Cat4 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600 (Bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20).
TD-LTE 2300/2500 (Bands 38, 40, 41).
A2005:
LTE Cat4 700/850/900/1700/1900/2100/2600 (Bands 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17).
Somewhere here is the cause of the issue internally in all the custom ROMs that is not the case with OOS 3.6.0. But since most if not all development is done on A2003, this will never be resolved, unfortunately.
Which is the best custom rom to download for enabling dual 4g volte so that i can use two 4g volte sims simultaneously. Please reply soon.
Please use search first.

I learned so much about this 2 options and now I finally got them to work !
I live in Israel, my cell supp is Partner (former Orange , but this will work for every carrier)
This is my guide, works on all Stable ROMs with NO root needed !!!
No pc, no root, no flashes.
Have a good one!

Little update:
You have to ask the service from you carrier before !
They need to approve your SIM for that.
Just search "(your carrier name) WiFi calling"
Enable it and then do this trick.
So first,
1. disable the carrier check for this 2 options:
VoLTE:
Dialer
*#*#86583#*#*
VoWifi:
Dialer
*#*#869434#*#*
2. Now go to settting>sim and cellular>'your sim' (example: Partner IL) > scroll down and enable Volte and calles over wi-fi (or Wlan)
In the calles over wi-fi - choose WiFi preferred.
3. Go to Play store and Download this app: (like the picture) shortcut maker
Open the app
4. Select the "activities" tab
5. Scroll down and search "modem config"
Press on it.
6. Open the selected "MBNLoader" by pressing "try this shortcut"
7. Now you will see the toggle on the first one, ignore it and scroll down till you see: MBNLoader /vendor/................. (The path doesn't matter) /Vodafone/volte/Greece/mcfg_sw.mbn
Select it !
Now go back, Exit the app, And restart your phone !
Viola !!! Vowifi and volte are working !!!!
Pictures attached as you can see for yourself.
Enjoy !!
p.s: if this didnt work for your try choosing other carrier from that (huge) list. one of them will work like a chram.

From Israel.
Which carrier are you using ?
Ofc, before doing this you need to apply the service via your carrier, this method is after the carrier enabled you in their system.

Did you went to your carrier website and apply this service ? This has to work after all the steps.
But you have to register in your carrier website for this service.

Try switching to Indian config in the list.
Joi maybe or Airtel will work for you.

For the carrier - If you have an app search there for WiFi calling (or Vowifi) inside the the app.
Try switching to Indian config in the list.

Don't know about other ROMs this is for the official global miui ROM
Search for the modem config as pictures.
Mi 9T stock QFJEUXM 11.0.4.0, I don't see anything like Modem (config) in Activities, trying with Shortcut Maker and Package Manager
Phone is rooted, any other way to choose MBNLoader?
Thanks

As said, I cannot follow your guide because there is no Modem Config in Activities - see my previous post and my screenshot.
Is there another guide to do it without Modem Config - please give the link
Thanks
@zgfg
Yes, there is another method
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/guide-activate-vowifi-wlan-call-t3871263
https://telegra.ph/Trying-out-diffe...-SoCmodem-to-make-VoLTEViLTEVoWIFI-work-07-03
You need a PC and root. (for some redmi devices it works without root)
Please Backup EFS and MODEM in TWRP before trying this

For VoLTE its easier, just go to dialer and enter
*#*#86583#*#*
then there should be a popup where it says "Carrier Check disabled". Then go to your settings and enable volte.
