I Bought a new moto 360 2nd gen last week. And after a couple days i noticed a bluish circle on my screen 9 i can clearly see this circle while the screen is black ( or even while using black background watch faces) and even if the screen is off.( so i don't think it is a software related issue). So is this bluish circle normal or is it a defect ? Please answer my question asap. Thanks
P.S : the bluish circle is pretty close to the edge of the screen , i couldn't upload image because of some weird errors.
wow what a coinsidence..mine to it a round bluish at 9 o'clock area..guest it a factory defect..?
It's a problem I've seen before. If you just bought it, I would DEFINITELY return it for another.

Hello,
I see strange "rainbow" colors on my phone's screen - especially red and blue, when displaying pure white background with full brightness. The color bars are moving up and down, when I'm angling phone. It's not bothering me when displaying photos or something with many colors, but it's annoying when reading a page with pure white background.
I'm attaching some photos. Do you have the same issue? Is it a cause for warranty replacement?
Not having this type of issue.First Clean your screen with a cloth and if it doesnt work ask Flipkart for Replacement
Don't worry dude. It's a low-quality-screen-thingy. Even without white screen try turning your mobile at different angles. Colours subdue. It's to be expected at such a low cost. For this baby, look at the screen only straight-on. Anywhere else and colours blanch.

@Srinadh - Unfortunately cleaning doesn't help. I buyed my phone from European distribution - do you mean that Flipkart is responsible for all devices or you though that I buyed it directly from Flipkart?
@loneagl - The problem is, these bars are visible even when looking straight at the screen. Do you have this issue too?
I thought that you bought directly from Flipkart... and Flipkart is responsible only for Indian Moto E's
Just bought a S3 weeks ago. I thought AMOLED display can go completely off when displaying just pure black . I tested it out with a full screen black picture. The display isn't going fully black it seemed like the display was ON with mild lighting. But the strange thing that I observed are some black spots(or random shapes) during this test. PLEASE REFER THE ATTACHED PICTURE TO GET A ROUGH IDEA OF WHAT I"M TRYING TO SAY. Is this showing something wrong about the display. What's your suggestion?
My suggestion is you search for the many other exact same posts before posting a new one, it's normal to see uneven black in low light.
Hello,
I have my Mate 10 Pro since one week and two days ago I used it at night and spotted that a little portion of the screen (at the right border of the screen) is much darker on gray color than the rest of the screen.
You can see it in the attached photos of my screen. It most visible in the Google Clock app where all the background is dark gray... It's not as visible as this when I use it in a more enlightened environment.
I think that the screen of my phone have an issue.
As it's a OLED display with no led back light there shouldn't be this kind of issues (it's like a clouding on the LED screens).

I'm thinking about exchanging mine too. I also see uneven Grey's and whites
I think it is just that the app is showing not a flat background, but a background with gradient. It is more beautiful when app backgrounds are with gradient, than just flat. So with lowest lightning the contrast of different levels of intensity on the background are more easy to see.
It's not a software gradient, it's a screen flaw. It's called Mura effect. Affects mot OLED screens. Google Mura effect oled for more info. I was so sad when I first noticed it on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (changed it twice with no luck), and then on my Galaxy S5.
Now I'm going for IPS screens which imo still suffer from less flaws than OLED.

Anybody experience data problem when switching back from wifi mode?
Hello
I have the exact same issue and it's really bugging me...
I went and showed it to the Service Center and they accepted to exchange it for a new one. I'm waiting for the replacement in a couple of days...
I'm glad I wasn't the only one experiencing it!
Send it back and get a new one from Amazon. I saw this problem with the camera in white or clears walls. It seems "banding".
I acquired a second hand Mate 10 Pro 3 weeks ago (first owner bought it on the 24th of November), it already had burn-in zones: navigation dock button, Google Search, bottom system buttons bar and many other ones from various apps' icons... These zones are mostly noticeable on clear or white screen/pages (eg: about:blank URL in Chrome browser). At reception, I immediately selected a black theme and activated Battery's dark mode. Now I can see my own apps setup marking the screen... After only 3 weeks...
Am I the only one ?
I'm contacting Huawei customer service.
Is anyone experiencing image retention issues with their Xperia 1? I've noticed that using Always on display I can see an imprint of the clock on the screen for a few seconds after unlocking the phone.

it's weird why is it changing place, how long is the mobile?
The burning you can find on OLED panel is due to the difference in life span of the subpixel. Blue ones wear 2 to 3 times faster than red and green ones. That's why when you always have a black bar on the bottom due to nav button, or in the top due to the info bar, one year later when you turn all the screen white, you will see that the top and bottom bars are whiter and the middle yellowish (more red and green power than blue).
It's permanent, and can't be cleaned by a color strobe. The only workaround, if the wear is homogeneous, is to change the color tint to correct all the screen.
Also to prevent this, best is to avoid blue wallpaper since it will accentuate the wear of the blue oled subpixel.
Now about the always ON display, it's moving regularly to avoid the wear of the blue oled (white display is equally using blue, green and red) only in one specific area, it shouldn't burn the screen (not like a Coyote app on the S7 edge of a friend).
But here it's another thing, like a long response time of the pixel, since it's not permanent and just disappear in few seconds, so it's not a screen damage. I do not have it, but I don't use the Sony launcher, maybe is it just an animation?
When I power on my phone, the always one disappears for half a second displaying black screen then the wallpaper appears.
I've had zero issues with mine.

Ditto
No issues
what you're telling happened to me on some tested Samsung phones (Note8/ 9 S9 etc...)
Mine looks better every time
Hey guys,
I havent seen a thread related to display issues. In 2 german Forums I found threads about various issues. From Color fade, to overall greenish tint or flickering screens.
Sadly I am very picky with display stuff and my Display isnt perfect either. I mostly use relatively low brigthness settings (around 30-40%) and on dark mode especially the settings menu has a color fade from dark grey to dark blue. This cant be seen on any other color.
Its easy to see in a dark room, the brighter the room the lesser you will notice.
To easier check: use telegram, with its blueish theme its definitely way stronger fading there...
For a phone thats 649€ in germany thats unacceptable for me. My P5 has a slight warmish but perfectly even colored display and thats what I expect from a P6.
What about you? Can anyone check their display if thats a common issue?
Hi,
i have the same issue, also a device from germany.
Even when booting when everything is white, I always have multiple changes between white and blue in the display.
I'm at work, I try to take a picture when I get home.
Please do, Id really be intersted. Sadly we cant do anything about it...
Anybody have the green ish tint on a black screen issue? Seen a few of those floating around as well...
Similar issues with my screen, also from Germany.
My first OLED screen had been with the Galaxy Note 1 and I hated it for its issues. Always bought devices with LCD screens afterwards.
The Pixel 6 is my first OLED phone since and it is having pretty much the same issues my Note had 10 years ago
Great phone so far (Android is still a bit buggy), but the display is quite a disappointment for me personally, at least for brightness levels below ~50%...
Is it just me or are most of these issues regarding the display coming from Germany? Please can people state what country the device was purchased from if they have this issue
Wow @Abnovitas thats really really bad. Sadly till now everyone seems to be from Germany...
I just finished chatting with Google's support.
They are going to replace the phone, but I'm still waiting for their email with instructions.
But first they walked me through some superficial settings (disabling Dark Mode and some accessibility stuff, like Color Inversion...) and then tried to talk it off as a normal property of OLED displays, which I didn't accept to this extent. But hey, that's probably just Google's policy.
Let's see if this was just bad luck in the OLED lottery.
For me its too difficult to take a picture with dark screen. The color change is slightly less than the picture from @man1acc
But i have problems with white color, it is light grey and i have green stripes on white, this is also very very difficult to make a picture.
Here you can see it a bit, but in real life it is much stronger
This is how my display looks like. Quite disappointing, Google has the same problems for years. But the phone itself is very well built, so maybe I will keep it. Bought the phone in Germany.
I have some rainbow effect which is mostly noticeable on white backgrounds. Hard to capture but found it is quite noticeable with an external light source. In this case my monitor. Anyone else have this or more importantly for a RMA, don't have it?
Pixel 6 when on a black background the right side of the display has a green tint shadow effect kinda worrying as it's not present on the left side and seems to only appear on darker backgrounds like when pull notification tab down or in a app (like xda) with black background very noticeable , or is this just standard now for Oled displays it's not the first phone I've noticed this over the years just curious if any pixel 6 owners see similar or should I get it exchange ? Added pic not sure if shows that well though

Not normal. Each pixel is controlled individually.
It maybe hardware or firmware.
Sounds like the display control matrix wasn't designed properly or is defective.
Your screenshot isn't showing it so neither should the display!

Unfortunately not true. If it's an issue with the display, a screenshot should never show it. But it can be visible when a picture of it is taken.
My Pixel 6 (right) was bought first day from the Google Store. I'm in the USA. It has a very strong dirty red tint at the bottom and a garish green at the top. Easily visible at 60-70% brightness and lower. Here it is compared to my Pixel 4a (left), shot on my 3a. Haven't had uniformity issues this bad since my OG Pixel (which got replaced).
Waited to chat with a support rep for an hour, chatted for another hour, and have an RMA device ordered and on the way.
Maybe are cross to dark side lol
That was a joke id never cross to the dark side lol and tint only seems visible when in certain dark mode apps and not actually navigating around the phone xda app is worse lol so don't think hardware issue tbh

Lol, read what I said again
At any rate... that's a dud.
Just for giggles and kicks, see if lowering the refresh rate effects that.

My bad too, it wasn't worded as concise as it could have been.
who of you all has the problem with the green rainbow effect on a white background?
