Android pay with rooted marshmallow? - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I'm currently on rooted lollipop just waiting for my customisation number to come out and then I will use PRF creator to make a pre rooted MM ROM. Just a few questions as I wait.. has anybody got android pay working on rooted Xperia devices yet? I've read about nexus devices using systemless root managing to get around the problems. But from what I've read we can't use systemless root on Xperia?
Also, will I need to use the bootloop fix on my own pre rooted ROM coming from lollipop? I'm stopping at my parents at the moment and their Internet is terrible so really don't want to make a mistake and have to go back and root all over again lol!
Thanks for any tips!

I don't think so you would need to boot loop fix since you are updating from your own customisation number
If you need it,just download it and if you encounter it reboot to recovery and flash boot loop fix

If you take the official OTA you will definitely get a locked bootloader, and lose root. Root may be possible down the road but there are no guarantees. If you want to ensure root and an unlocked bootloader you need to follow the directions in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578458
Is there going to be a zip I can flash in twrp to up date with out having to be on a rom just on the 4.3.1 I don't have access to a computer and never used odin some help would be nice this my first Samsung all I my other phones were moto and we're different doing the updates

My question is I think I want to jump to 4.3, but I'm not sure how. I am stock rooted with locked bootloader. I'm still on 4.1.1 with VRALJB. I was always satisfied with the stock rom so never saw the point in unlocking the bootloader. What is the easiest way for me to update since I'm really not interested in root access anymore?
My question is why would you want to go the VZW 4.3 OTA? As previously mentioned, you'll lose root access, end up with a locked bootloader, and likely get a bunch of bloatware. There's plenty of 4.3 custom ROMs out there that will do much more for your device.
I dont want that. I'm new to the note 2. I've been on moto phones with locked bootloaders. So I've not had to worry bout locking down my bootloader until now. Ive rooted my note 2 and installed roms on it. Im just trying to find a update that I can use with out installing a rom in order to get to 4.3 1.
I've never used odin and don't have access to a computer right now. In starting to think that i can't get to 4.3.1 with out a computer. Was just hoping I could use twrp to flash a mod version of the update to get there

So far I have not seen any reference to a recovery flashable firmware file...odin only. That said, with a computer, odin is really easy to use so when you get to a PC you can do it in about 3 minutes.
So can I just do the mod update and not have to install the rom or it a package deal ? Just asking cuz with the razor all I had to do was the update .

[Q] been reading for days and days need help

I am sorry to be so damn noobish but i need help lol... Ive watched so many youtube videos with josh dew and read so many posts and downloaded so many roms. I know I am probably missing just one step and if someone can help me I would be so appreciative.
my note 3 is rooted with twrp installed. i want to change my rom , my main goal is to get unlimited hotspot unlocked.... when i try to install a rom it says KERNEL is not SEANDROID ENFORCING, I then put it all back to stock then root then install twrp.
I think i have maybe a wrong kernel? What do I need to do?

There is nothing wrong. It says that only if you are not using a pure stock kernel.

I need a little more information from your phone in order to accurately help you.
What version of stock TW were you running when you rooted (prior to flashing a ROM)?
Based on what you're describing, you most-likely were on Jellybean (MJ4) when you did your rooting and installed TWRP.
What is your bootloader version?
You can see this on the same boot-up screen where you see the "KERNEL is not SEANDROID ENFORCING" message.
What is your TWRP version?
Some ROMs need the newest version of TWRP in order to install correctly. For our phone, older versions of TWRP (2.6.X.X) can only be used to install Jellybean (MJ4) Roms, while the newer versions of TWRP (2.7.X.X) can only install KitKat (NAB, NC5) Roms.
What ROMs have you been trying to flash?
This will help us understand if there are issues with what you're installing.
The main reason I ask these questions is that there is a very specific way of upgrading from Jellybean (MJ4) to KitKat (NAB, NC5) on our phones. Most people (like myself) rooted on other phones and aren't used to the bootloader restrictions Samsung introduced on the Note 3, so we expect to just upgrade from MJ4 to NC5 like it's no big deal.
Also, there's the issue with TWRP... because of the whole bootloader thing, one version of TWRP cannot work for both JB and KK Roms. It's just the way it is... We've helped plenty of people who were trying to flash KK Roms on an older version of TWRP, only to have errors and bootloops.
Hope this helps!
Check out "WiFi Tether Router"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.snclab.wifitetherrouter This works, for me, on stock rooted nc5. It's a paid app. Follow the settings directions in the description to get all the settings right for your phone. It works and isn't difficult to set up. I have nc5 stock rooted. Custom recovery isn't needed for this. You must have root for it to work.
A reboot after using is a good idea. Otherwise, no complaints. Works on 4g.
Tethering eats battery life and creates heat. If you plan to use it for awhile, I suggest plugging in a charger. Keep the phone out in the open so it can keep cool and get good signal. Charging and tethering with create heat. Nothing to worry about if you don't put the phone in a hot place while using it.

[Q] supersu binary not installed

Hi guys this is asif ali recently i installed franco kernel updated version over cm11 m11 i lost root is there any way to get root back without rooting again ...
Just flash super su in your recovery
And this is the n9 forum so I don't know what device you have
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Unfortunately no, in your case root is lost forever... Even if you try to root again it will brick your device. Do not attempt any further modifications for your sake, and for ours. Sorry, and good luck.
out of curiousity, this seems to be in the nexus 9 thread.
Have u tried turning it off and on again?

Bypass Android pay root detection?

So recently i was successful in rooting my device. Well i have heard of root cloak and i installed it from my xposed installer. Im currently running the Sky Dragon stock rom for 5.1.1. And even though I've installed root cloaker and activated and rebooted my device, i added the Android Pay app to the list. I then force closed or stopped the Android Pay app. So it gives me the error about it not being compatible so why or how is it still detecting my root? Is it cause the custom stock rom?

there's a post in p 11/12 of the CM13 thread where someone used a nexus 5x build.prop, unrooted, rebooted, added android pay, then. Re enabled root, and kept android pay functionality.
I did this too, and it worked for me. Even updated to latest nightly and kept functionality. Good luck.

Can you tell me how? I'm not quite following how that guy described it.

Do a backup/ nandroid first. I screwed up when I first did this and it was a disaster trying to fix it.
1. download his attached build.prop.
2. Backup yours.
3. Replace your build.prop with his.
4. Disable root/unroot.
5. reboot.
6. Open android pay and add your cards.
7. Re-root/enable root, and enjoy.

Does the phone has to be on CM 13 or will it work on stock root?

if you're stock, I think you just need to disable/un root, set up android pay, then re root. Not positive though, been on cm since the day bump was released, and haven't looked back.

Well see im on a stock based rom called SkyDragon so will it work for that?
It might. Nandroid first, and please report back for anyone else who might be following this.
I have the sky Dragon rom with xsposed installed running the 5.1 or whatever their newest one is for. It didn't work

Is there a coming back from a custom rom?

Hi and thanks for the precious work you're doing here!
I have a Moto G5 Plus I've been using for a couple of years without any modding: bootloader, recovery, rom and such is still stock, untouched, only play store apps
I wanted to try a custom rom but I'm afraid I could have SafetyNet or bank app issues, and I know there are some workarounds for that but, in case those don't work how can I go back to the initial state? is it even possible? I mean, I read even twrp could give me those kind of problems because of the bootloader, but seems like I need twrp even to flash the stock rom so... is it a one way road? is there a guide for that?
Thanks in advance
