I have two of these (e2303), couple of months old and both have had the same problem, since unboxing. When the phone is sleeping it will reboot itself after 30 minutes, hour, two or more (and you won't hear that startup sound, as with normal reboot, just the boot animation). When the WIFI is turned on, reboots are more frequent, and with mobile data only (WIFI off), reboots are less frequent, anyhow the phone doesn't reach more than 30 hours uptime ever. The phone will never reboot while it is being used, screen on, it happens only when the screen is off. This all looks similar to the Nexus 4 sleep of death problem, however e2303 does not get frozen in sleep, it will just reboot instead.
Running latest firmware for e2303, .111.

For awhile now I have been running the AOKP ICS ROM v7.3.2012 on my sgh-i777 and along with my poor battery life (which I assumed was normal after skimming through multiple forums) my phone has been freezing up (not requiring hard reboots 90% of the time) and shutting down at points in the night. Throughout the day my phone is a must and is ran like a mule. Assuming I'm fulfilling my RAM's duties, I am faced with force closes on programs frequently. Every night when I go to bed, I plug in my phone and let it idle throughout the night. The past two nights I've woken up on my own, thankfully in time for my test this morning, to find my phone off. Not just off, but completely down (requiring me to eject the power cord and battery for a few minutes and reapply the battery). When I try to turn it back on the navigation panel lights flash and seconds later the phone powers back on. This is my second sgh-i777 from AT&T after my first phone began turning itself on and off in an endless loop. The ROM build has served me well for months and all the sudden these shut-downs have been occurring. It's becoming a bother to my phone's vital importance in my everyday goings. Please help.

I would first perform a back up then perform a full wipe and reflash your rom of choice. If it continues to happen... flash back to stock to see if it still happens. If it does then you may need to warranty the phone.
So I just got this phone as a backup for when I go out to work on construction that if my phone were to break it would be this $40 Optimus F3 and not my $640 LG G3. Now here is the issue and I will explain what I have done.
Issue: When I turn screen off (Hit the power button once or when it auto sleeps) the phone just locks up and freezes. It happens when the screen is off for 10 seconds or longer. Before that I can reactivate the phone and it works fine.
Other Symptoms:
-If I allow the phone to stay frozen after about 2 minutes it reboots itself.
What I have done
-Factory Reset several times
-Restored the stock firmware kdz via the lg firmware updater
-Rooted to install a cpu app which does't allow the phone into a lower frequency. I have tried setting minimum frequency to every single option available and it still freezes at the 10+ second mark.
-Tried another battery from a friends F3.
Test I have made:
Disable screen timeout. This allowed the phone to stay on and responsive for as long as the screen was on. No matter how long I let it go as soon as the screen turns off the issues starts and 10 seconds later it just locks up then restarts after another 2 minutes.
Times tested: 10 minutes, 40 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours and 8 hours. Same result each time.
I have no idea what else I can do. I would appreciate any help. I am starting to think it is a hardware failure which kicks in when the screen is off. I don't mind having the screen on all the time but I would love to track down this issue. If I must and this being an lcd display would having a special background do anything at all? Is there a color which is a lower power consumption than any other? Thanks
Hi,
Suddenly this week my phone's screen start blinking/flashing. It looks like the light sensor was drifting.
A day later, my phone's screen turned black. After a long charge, i could start it.
But i saw that my screens backlight never turn off. After locking the screen, the backlight goes off for a second or 2.
After a short period the backlight turns on again (but no text, only light). Cause of that my phone's battery is draining like hell. 10% in 30 min or so ( not using).
There's a second strange behavior , my phone is rebooting several times a day (approx. 10 times in a hour). But he reboot only when in lock mode.
I made a video about the backlight, i hope this makes it more understandable.

As a solution, i tried a few things:
- Taken the battery out
- Hard reset
- Reflashed original rom
- Reflashed Nubia 5.0 version.
But the behavior of my phone is still the same.
Any idea's?
This problem started happening two weeks ago and it's quite annoying. Running Android 5.11 Archidroid with the latest Archikernel version on my phone.
The problem is that my Galaxy S3 seems to freeze when the screen turns off. If the screen is turned off for maybe half an hour or more, pressing the power button will not wake the device. In an attempt to figure out if it's a broken power button, I set the home and volume buttons in the settings menu as keys that will turn on the screen, but that doesn't work either. The only way to fix the issue is to hold the power button to restart the device and doing that every couple of hours gets really annoying. Trying to turn on the screen literally does nothing, as if the phone is turned off.
When the phone is not charging, the interval between the freezes seems to be much longer. The phone will work perfectly for a couple of hours without the above mentioned problem but when on a charger it quickly screws up.
Now, I don't believe my device turns off during this "process". I've turned on the LED for charging and whenever I'd get the screen freezing problem I'd unplug the charger and the LED wouldn't go away, it'd still light up as if the phone is connected to the charger, which it isn't.
Anyone have any idea on what the problem is? I've never experienced this before and it started happening all of a sudden.
How low is the kernel clockspeed running in sleep mode?. Should be at 200mhz at the very minimum!.
Beamed in by telepathy.
If this does not happen on a stock ROM, it would be a problem with the ROM and the phone.
Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 running stock firmware, unrooted and bootloader locked. Ever since a few months ago, I've noticed my phone having some problems such as it randomly shutting off around 20%. Over time, this battery percentage increased until I essentially had to keep it plugged in to turn on. Now it will be at full charge, and still won't get past the Samsung Logo or if it does, it will restart in around 1-2 seconds after getting to the phone lock screen. During this time, the battery percentage is still fully charged and nothing else is abnormal. I noticed something else as well before it got to the state. If I was not connected to the internet the phone will not restart when it runs low on battery, but as soon as I do connect it restarts. I've considered getting a new battery, but is there anything else I can do for the time being?

Edit: I managed to get it to turn on for longer than 5 seconds and turned on flight mode and now it does not turn off (while plugged in). I'm going to do a backup real quick.
