The build version should be MRA58K. It's the latest/only build for Android 6/MM which is available for the european version of the V10 (AFAIK) where the bootloader can be unlocked. If you updated your phone via LG Bridge you can be fairly sure the installation of TWRP works.

Then go for it.
But make sure you follow the steps mentioned on the page linked above.
You will not brick your phone if you don't but perform a factory reset and loose all data.
Maybe do a backup on a micro SD card prior to trying to flash TWRP.
If you have not unlocked your bootloader yet you need definitely need to backup your data as the bootloader unlock will also perform a factory reset.

If you really typed "adb reboot boatloader" it is not surprising that the phone reboots because the parameter "boatloader" is unknown. The command executed by the phone is then "adb reboot".
"adb reboot bootloader" should solve the problem.
if "boatloader" is just a typo (though you typed it twice) check if "USB debugging" in the developer options is really enabled. Maybe disable and enable it again.
One other thing I forgot and it is not mentioned in the LG tutorial for unlocking the bootloader if I remember correctly:
I needed to enable the option "Allow OEM unlock" under developer options to be able to perform the unlock command with the unlock.bin file received by mail from LG. After the unlock is done and the phone rebooted disable this option again. Otherwise the fingerprint sensor is not working correctly. you can register fingerprints but not unlock your phone with it.

I've a H960A, but when I try to update the phone, LG bridge provides me the new version H96020a and says that my model number is h960! (without "A") Does it mean, that I can not unlock the bootloader?

Open the phone settings / About phone / Hardware info. What model number is shown there?
If it is in fact a H960 (without A) you can't unlock the bootloader.
Also there seem to be some problems with the H960A for some users. Meanwhile I suspect that those are phones which were not meant to be sold in Europe but somehow found their way here. Therefore some internal flag might prevent those phones from booting into bootloader / fastboot mode.
H960 in android 5.1, H960A in 6.0

again a late reply, but for followers :
I also have a (32GB) H960A (bought from a german store), now unlocked and rooted.
The model number shown in settings when still in android 5.1 was also : Model : LG-H960
It's only after succesfull update (with LG Bridge) that the model shown in the settings became LG-H960A...
edit : I notice now that it is still detected as H960 by some

Hi.. Did u manage to solve your problem? We both have the same one..
I don't see this as a problem : the model is well H960A, it's just shortened in the set up menu. If you have a 32GB model, I don't think you could get something else.
I'm pleased to get it rooted, but sad to see so few development because of LG reluctance to let the community work on it.

The OTA will only work if you are currently on 5.0.2. What version is currently on your N9?
5.0.2. But something strange. On the bootloader I can see Os n/a ... It is normal?
Maybe can you explain how can I unlock oem without having access to the development option. If I can unlock it maybe I can flash factory image again

"Enable OEM Unlock" is an option within Developer Options that needs to be enabled in order to unlock the bootloader.
IMHO the 1st three things everyone who owns this device should do immediately is :
1.) Enable Developer Options ("how to's" are all over the place on the net and easily found.)
2.) Put a check box in "Enable OEM Unlock" in Developer Options
3.) Put a check box in "Enable USB debugging" in Developer Options.
So I can't use my nexus 9 anymore?
Assuming you grabbed the factory image from the google developer site you should have seen following the instructions on that page...
To flash a system image:
1.) Download the appropriate system image for your device below, then unzip it to a safe directory.
2.) Connect your device to your computer over USB.
3.) Start the device in fastboot mode with one of the following methods:
Using the adb tool: With the device powered on, execute:
adb reboot bootloader
4.) If necessary, unlock the device's bootloader by running:
fastboot oem unlock
STEP 4 is critical ...
What isn't mentioned here is that on the Nexus 9, in order for this command to be successfully executed, "Enable OEM Unlock" must 1st be checked off under Developer Options in the OS.
So you are now in a chicken and egg situation,,, You need to flash the factory image to get your device back up and running but unfortunately you need to have a device up and running to enable oem unlock in the 1st place.
You will likely have to RMA your device.

Hello,
I've LG V10 H960AY with rom stock with orange.
I tried alot to go to fastboot mode to open the boatloader. I tried to all thr combination of key up volume open button and connect to the computer with usb, i tried also adb and watch alot videos in youtube and nothing help me.
What can i do i want to get root acces and change the rom.
Please help.
you must be in the latest marshmallow update
Hi,
as far as I know H960AY does not support bootloader unlock. Only the European H960A can be unlocked. Therefore it does not allow you to boot or start into download/fastboot mode, even if you have udpated to Android 6/MM.

I haven't seen any alternative ROM for the H960AY yet and I doubt there will be any ROM as long as the bootloader can not be unlocked.
Hey Guys,
i think i just bricket my new G5 after i tried to root it.
I used this method:
I unlocked the bootloader with the unlock.bin i got from the lg-website, installed the newest twrp and installed the newest supersu.
Then i wanted to reboot but it didnt work and my phone said analogously that my phone cant be trusted and wont work.
The phone didnt boot but seemed not to be in a bootloop.
After that i rebooted into recoveryy and entered the following code in the terminal:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc
I did this cause it was said unter a yt-video and seemed to work.
Now i have a bootloop and my phone says this:
[910] boot verification fail!
[960] - cause : mismatch_sig_len
I googled this error-code and wanted to install the firmware via LG UP, but when i want to start the software it says that there is no handset connected.
And i really dont know what to do!
Please help me.
PS: Its still possible to start the fastboot-mode and my pc ic detecting it.
But its not possible to flash the unlock.bin again.
Try flashing the complete system with the LG UP method in the 10C thread or with the LG Flash Tool provided here
I tried it with the lg up software.
The software detects and connects to my phone and says, that the 10d-firmware is installed.
When I selected "upgrade" (although it should be a downgrade) and the downloaded 10c-kdz-file and click start, it runs to 9% and chancels with an error-code:
Error: Error Code = 0x81000304, CBasic::_func_LoadGptF - Errorcode:8224
Google wont helps :/

Use command adb shell fix:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/fota
reboot
It was possible for me to flash the Stock-Version and tried your two comments after unlocking the bootloader, installing the recovery and super su, but the same problem came up.
Now i dont know how to root my phone.
It doesnt boot and just says "Your device software cant be checked for configuration".
Problem solved:
I didnt use the newest Version of SuperSu, not it works great

I'm also stuck at 9% with this same error message. Can you tell me specifically where you downloaded the updated LG files that got you around this?
Good day everyone. I am hoping I can get some help here on a problem that has been bothering me for weeks. I have the KIW-L21 phone, and I recently did an OTA update on the phone, but it got stuck on Honor when booting and never went past it. No matter what I did, it won't move and factory reset failed. So, I went to Honor support website and downloaded the "Update.app" files for UK, France, and Europe General for it. So, far when I flash the UK and General Europe, it goes well, but then I get this screen (image attached) and it keep looping on optimizing Device from 0 to 100 and again. http://i66.tinypic.com/o586d1.jpg
http://i64.tinypic.com/34z0jdi.jpg
http://i66.tinypic.com/igewk2.jpg
The French Update.app won't even work. But I am stuck here. These are all official ROMs from Huawei's website. I wonder what am doing wrong.
Please any sort of help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Ps. I updated to 9.1, but cust rom and preloader are same (maybe cause bootloader is locked, frp unlocked).

cust: 9.1.0.21
preload: 9.0.0.17

PS. You can check before you flash if using Hisuite.
If your model is supported by Hisuite nvm
1. If not,edit C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\HiSuite\userdata\UpdateDogDev\HiSuiteConfig.xml
by replacing either LYA-L09/LYA-L29 to your specific model and then use system repair function via fastboot.
2. Go check C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\HiSuite\ROM
you can see basic/cust/preload version officially supported if some still in 9.0 then It meant to be 9.0.
Good luck
