Hey I'm having a problem with a new android phone i just got (LG optimus G e970) 3 weeks ago cause i signed a new 2 year contract, got it rooted and then tried to encrypt and it's not letting me in even though i'm sure the PW is right (i wrote it down). someone told me LGNPST might work and i tried doing the steps and it was no good.
Used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2082084
I have ATT and if all else fails i'll just return to the store to get the encryption off but will they give me any flack if they know it's been rooted? Thanks. I mean I just literally got the phone 3 weeks ago (1 week short of being able to return/swap it in for a new phone) and just signed the contract so has anyone had success going in with an encrypted rooted phone at an ATT store and asking a manager/clerk to help? I've googled this kinda extensively since the phone was pretty expensive and people have said this is a common problem with a rooted LG optimus G e970
Hi all,
I made the terrible mistake of buying this at launch and I have regretted it bitterly.
I have issues with the GPS not work, Data connection dropping at least 3 times a day and Camera no longer saving photos etc to name a few.
I have called LG and they ask for me to send it in. Now I would like to buy another phone before sending this in and possibly not go back to the G5 when it comes back.
My question is what would you recommend? I would like to go to a dual Sim phone now and I am considering the H818P g4 Dual sim. I will miss the fingerprint scanner though ..only reason I would not want to go for g5 Dual sim is because of the inability to use second sim with SD card at the same time.
What do you beautiful people advice?
Thanks in advance.
I need to buy a new motherboard for my LG G3 D855 because I "fried" my old one trying to fix wifi problems.
Does anybody know some place for extra parts, that isn't too expensive or oficially from LG? Thank you.

Honestly, you're better off just buying a new phone. Logic boards are usually $100 and over and it's not guaranteed that the board won't have issues.
You can try looking on eBay though.

I bought a secondhand g3 with a broken screen for 35 euros. Switched motherboard and everything was working again. So maybe this is an option.

Where did you buy it?
I did the same, bought a lg g3 with a broken screen, from a local ad site. Switched motherboards and everything was fine until I tried to make a call as it losses the network and does not allow me to make or receive calls. Oddly enough I have 4g data and everything else works.
When I switch network to only 2G or only 3G the phone losses the network and I have no data. If I put "automatically switch between 2G, 3G, 4G" I have 4G data can not make or receive calls.
I installed xposed and imei changer thinking that I had bought a stolen phone, changed the imei number and still no network.
If anybody could help I´d be grateful.

Hi Fluffier,
I have same issue as you: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/brutal-signal-attenuation-d855-t3586931
It must be motherboard. Sorry...
In addition this easter days it added bootloop to the list of failures... (It only works connected with a 2A adapter + only LTE and Wifi).
After some deliberation I've just bought a V20 on china.

I had to do almost this same thing. I bought working phone with cracked screen and I replaced my mainboard (with no signal issue) with 'new' one. On stock (directly from kdz) I got message from system that there is a problem with mcc number. Exactly the same as this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57630582&postcount=443.
Apart from this, everything works great and I really recommend that method as a second life to any phone

Yes, definitely yes. If you do it, your phone will not be us990 anymore. It will be d855
All you have to remember is you could receive this same warning as I mentioned in previous post, but it shouldn't pop-up in any moded ROM.
For 100% it is not active in Fulmcs 6.9 and any Nougat ROMs.

If you bought main board for d855 you should flash kdz for d855, not anything different.
I did nott buy the d855,,i unbricked my us990. It is now in download mode..not letting me flash us990 kdz. It stops at 2%
Hmm, I bricked mine a few times - it's really easy with this phone and for no reason. I tried different flash programs/DLL versions, then the COM ports switched on me and it was also very dependent on the USB port on the computer - change things around. Eventually it should work. And then if you have it open there's also the Qualcomm recovery where you can go into a download mode and directly load the extracted binaries from the tot file. That worked no problem on mine on first try. I didn't even flash the whole thing - like data and system, just whatever it needed to boot - the small partitions I suspected of being corrupted.

In 2020, it's worth it !
Hi everyone, quick update on 2020, regarding whether or not it's worth buying a new Lg G3 motherboard :
For the context, I received my phone from a friend of mine, which change phones in the mean time because of its battery issues, but changing the battery solved everything. At some point, last year, my G3 dropped into the sea -_-') but I did not want to part with it and I had to to change most of the components.
I managed to get first a new motherboard, then a new back camera, a new prebuilt LCD + touchscreen frame, a new jack plug (being broken by default), a new camera lens, a new flex cable for the buttons and a new antenna for less than 65$ on AliExpress (mind you, the D855 2GB/32GB motherboard was 28.63$ and the screen was 20.99$)
Honestly, my only complaint is the amount of memory (2GB in a little on the light side) but this phone is awesome ! It's super cheap and easy to repair, and I actually bought spares for a later time. If you have a dead G3 at home, I think it's worth repairing it
Hi, I found my old G3 and wanna try to revive it. I was wondering if chinese motherboards are reliable. I read about someone saying that IMEI on those motherboards is overwrited to look like other models, basically a "frankenstein" motherboard. Can you give me your feedback. Thanks
I have a working LG G3 D850 Board but its screen is Broken.
I have found a person on internet who has a LG G3 verizon with dead motherboard but working Screen and other accessories.I am going to buy that set so that simply replace it with my working board. But i am little confuse becuase His model is LG G3 VERIZON (vs985) and my working board Model is LG G3 D850 at&t. Can LG Vs985 screen will work on LG D850 board or they have some difference. Please anyone Guide me so that i shall finalize or cancel deal.

According to https://www.att.com/device-support/article/wireless/KM1386390/LG/LMV600AM there is a V600AM10w Software version available for the AT&T variant of the v60. My device still shows V600AM10p in the About Phone section, and when I manually check for update get the downloading new software version notification, but ultimately nothing is downloaded and I get an error that "Cannot update"
This is connected via WiFi, and sitting at 98% battery life. Any thoghts about why this would be happening?

OK, that was a dead end as well... LG Bridge does not help either. Maybe I have a un-upgradable device like in this forum?
"Cannot check the software version. Try again." - LG Bridge
I just want to update my G710ULM to pie... Why is this so difficult? I successfully backed up my data, connected via the Air Drive thing, but it won't let me update?

OK. I have an open support ticket with AT&T and LG support, the normal Tier 1 support on AT&T could not help me.
...time will tell.
I just got a AT&T version of Lg v60 (unlocked). I am using tmobile network. I can not get the software update. Anyone have any idea to fix this issue ? Thanks.
it really is a war with lg updates,I have the Europe version LM-V600EA and I am left with July update 2020.
unable to update with LG bridge, lgup,
lg flashtool,ota.
now I have resigned myself
OK, LG Support suggested that I do a factory reset. That didn't help either. still stuck at V600AM10p and it looks like it will not actually download the V600AM10w update as it sits at 0% on the download until it errors out.
I had asked LG Support what I could do if the factory reset didn't work and they mentioned sending the phone back in for a replacement one. I hope they can send me one first and let me send the other back to them so that I do not have a phoneless period just because their hardware won't upgrade.
(I did register for the LG Second Year Promise Program when I first got my phone, so I'l looking into that as well.)

I have fixed the problem. I ask my friend to borrow his at&t sim card to try it on my phone. It works, once the at&t sim card is in the phone, the software update work.
If no one can borrow the sim card for you to test it. You can get it on Amazon
Amazon.com: Tracfone Monthly Carrier Subscription for Unlimited Talk, Text, 1GB Data plus Carryover Data Plan + Tracfone SIM Kit (AT&T Compatible) : Cell Phones & Accessories
Amazon.com: Tracfone Monthly Carrier Subscription for Unlimited Talk, Text, 1GB Data plus Carryover Data Plan + Tracfone SIM Kit (AT&T Compatible) : Cell Phones & Accessories

Make sure you select the correct network for your phone ( at&t, tmobile or verizon) the sim card only $15 and you going to have 1 month per paid service.
Hope that can help to fix the error. The phone is geart. But if you can not get the update that is suck.

I will have to try with a different AT&T sim card... I've tried Reseating the sim, Update OTA,Update over LG Bridge, LG UP, Resetting the network, Factory Reset... nothing has helped. At this point LG and AT&T are saying replace the device, but when I tried setting that up today every single support person I spoke to is muffled and hard to understand (on purpose?) ... they sound like a bunch of manure salespeople with a mouthful of fresh samples.
Alas, I tried it all and had to resort to mailing my phone in to LG for a warranty supported repair... hope to have it back within 2 months. Until then I'm having some nostalga with my LG V20 running LineageOS 17.1.
Yay, I got my V60 back today and it has the latest OS build now... Only cost me time and packaging at my local FedEx.

Hi, did you install the Europe Version or did it came with the phone? I m trying to change from the american version to the european version.
I've been trying to figure out if the AT&T version of the LG V60 will fully be capatible with the T-Mobile network and have only been told it won't. Just to confirm, you have the ATT version and it works? Both 4G LTE and 5G?

I'm going top try that too. Who gets the SIM card first pots the result here. Let's hope it's a positive one.
