so I was watching some videos and one of the things missing on the LG V10 (at least I'm not able to find it) is the "Voice clarity" option... if I remember right it wasn't available on LP and on MM it's still not available unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Anyway, my concern is that while in the call settings towards the bottom under "Others", there's a "Additional settings" and "Call barring" that are both grayed out. Is this normal for T-Mo users?

Hi,
(sorry if wrong forum)
I have an SGS2 running ICS and have setup my android's SIP client (internet calling) in phone > settings > internet call settings ("Accounts" and "Use internet calling", at the bottom).
I call many international numbers through sip. If I set the option "Use internet calling" to "Ask for every call", then every time I dial a number it asks whether to use "Mobile phone call" or "Internet call". If I choose the latter, then the call is made through my sip provider saving me lots of money.
It would be really useful if there was an app that would intercept calls to certain numbers I configure and change to internet call mode on the fly. The "prefixer" app does something close with prefixing/suffixing numbers.
Alternatively, I would also be happy with a widget that allows me to switch that phone option between "Ask for every call" and "Only for Internet calls" when tapped, so I don't have to navigate through menus all the time. For a dev this shouldn't be that hard I presume since it would just alter an existing OS option.
Is there any app/widget for this?
Cheers
I'm not aware of any apps/widgets, but using ICS you can simply put those numbers in as "Internet Call" fields.
Set your outbound SIP calling preference to "Internet Calls Only," then edit each of your overseas contacts and move their international numbers into the "Internet Call" field (click "Add New Field," then select "Internet Call" from the list).
This page explains it much better;

Thanks. The problem is that I visit those countries often enough to not want to do that. When I'm in that country, then I'd like to call direct s editing numbers back and forth becomes unattractive.
I found out that the "Prefixer" app actually does allow this. I match the numbers and automatically add the suffix @sip.domain.com (or whatever the SIP proxy host name is). It works but sometimes does not intercept the outgoing call so I have to be vigilant and cancel it quickly. Most of the times it works so I'm ok with the solution.
p.s. there are tons of SIP apps, some which do have call intercept features, but they don't work very well from what I found.

On Google Play there's the SIP Switch Widget, which does what you're searching for.
You can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.siebeck.sipswitch (unfortunately I'm not yet allowed to post links...)
Yeah this is a bummer for me. I wish I could just hold the call button for example to see a popup internet call / not if SIP (internet calling) settings were filled in Phone Settings. Another great feature would just be to define the local area code IE:416 and everything else would be over internet calling.
Simple eh? Too bad Google couldn't figure it out
It seems Sipswitch 1.0.7 doesn't work on Kitkat

Works for me. Dialer settings don't always show the correct settings, but calls are made with whatever the widget says they should be. To see the current settings, unload the dialer from memory, then check the selected setting.

Huh, now I was able to add the widget. It seems it works OK. Thanks for advice regarding dialer.

First of all excuse my poor english and If I am not positing this on the correct forum.Whenever I used to click on a contact to call them it showed me the option if I wanted to call them with the "normal phone" or with Skype, now suddenly that option disappeared and it dails directly with the normal phone, and I hadn't selected "always perform this action". When i go to "default applications" there is nothing releated with making calls either, in fact I only have "messaging" there, any advice? i want to have this feature back, it was very useful to me, thank you very very much!
Hi all,
I hope you guys can help me. I'm trying out the Fulmics ROM on my LG G3 (D855) and I like it, but when I call anyone, that person can not see my number, instead they see "Private number".
Firstly, I've already checked the Caller ID settings with my carrier (Optus - Australia), and there is no issue there; it is turned on by default.
Secondly, I did not have this problem using the stock ROM - my number appeared as usual on the other person's phone whenever I made a call.
Lastly, I saved my number in the Contacts section of my phone under "ME" in the hope that this would solve the problem, but it hasn't worked.
When I try to access the "Additional settings" in the "Call settings" section, it gives me an error every time, saying, "Service unavailable". When I hit OK, it shows the additional settings, but "Caller ID" is greyed out and it says "Loading settings", which it never actually does - it stays greyed out regardless of how long I leave the phone in that part of the menu.
I don't know if it's a problem with the SIM, or if I've made an error with the settings, or if it is a permissions issue. I would appreciate some help with the problem.
Thank you,
Nick
I love to have that error of yours LOL.
Try using this app to fix your SIM Meta info.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gnufabio.simeditor
Needs ROOT and Xposed.
PS: I never had this issue but I heard people use this to fix it.
Maybe that's a cool feature of your rom (i would love this if i had this feature)
Thanks for your help.
I tried using the app you suggested but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I installed Xposed and have root access as well; I enabled the module in Xposed and added my phone number. It all worked but didn't have any effect when I made calls - it still says "Private number" on the other end.
The same issue still persists when I try to access the "Call settings" - "Caller ID" is still greyed out and says "Loading settings".
Thanks again for the advice though. I'll keep trying to find a solution and post it here if I do.

Sorry to hear that, hope you find a solution to your problem. Take a look in your settings app as well, the guy who made your ROM might have added something there.
And since you said it, I've checked my call settings and it is greyed out too (screenshot attached). Maybe my carrier doesn't want me to change it. Who knows..

Thanks again. I'll keep searching the settings in case I find the problem. Strangely, the "Call waiting" option is not greyed out on my phone, just the Caller ID option.
P.S. Sorry I can't attach a screen-shot because the forum rules won't permit me to do so until I've posted at least 10 times.
Hey guys I just got my new Moto Razr foldable, and activated it with GoogleFi(e-sim), and when I click chat features on the Messages app it says "device not supported". I tried the old trick of changing the "flags" but when I click the flags setting it just takes me back to my Messages list, and not the flag settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Wait you got your phone? Where did you order from? How did you get the SIM unlocked in order to activate on Fi? I don't know about your particular RCS issue, have had it working on my PIxels without any flags needed for over a month now, but are all your apps updated? I wouldn't be surprised if it ships with an old version of Android messages since it comes with Android 9...
I preordered it from Verizon and it arrived yesterday.
A quick update, this phone is e-sim only so I was able to connect to GoogleFi during the setup process. I realized though that it would not let me make outbound calls, so I switched the service to Verizon(via the setup menu, no sims). Chat features briefly kicked on for about and hour and then went back to "Chat features not supported for this device". All apps are updated, so I think Verizon may be blocking it somehow.
This fixed it for me.
Turn on Airplane mode.
Open the Settings app.
Tap Apps & notifications. If you don't see all your apps, first tap See all apps or App info.
At the top right, tap More More and then Show system.
Tap Carrier Services.
Tap Force stop and then Ok.
Tap Storage and then Clear data.
Go back to the "App info" screen.
Tap Messages.
Tap Force stop and then Ok.
Tap Storage and then Clear data.
Turn off Airplane mode.
Still took a few hours to active but I have RCS on my Razr now.

In previous phones I was able to, on lock screen, input my PIN and it would go directly into the phone. Now I need to click OK. Every thing I've seen thus far tells me to go into the settings and into the PIN setup and click "Enable (or disable) confirm PIN without tapping OK". That doesn't seem to show up when I go into the PIN setting.
Also - When I go into Connections>Advanced Calling - Only HD Voice is available, not HD Voice and Video Calling. I checked my Verizon account and it's been applied to my line so I am not sure if it's something I'm missing here.
Anyone tackle these yet?
edit: I contacted Verizon via chat and they needed to activate the Video Calling on their end, even though it was active on my account already.
