Hi, guys.I'm here with a question.Which rom(s) do you use?And why? What makes you keep using gb, ics or jb?What do they have special? For instance, I'm sick of lagging ics roms and i installed cm10 and i returned to ics.And what i realized is especially Sony's stock camera app and other portable apps makes me use stock-based ics.(You would know how ugly the camera app of cm stuff is if you tried cm9/10.)'Nuff said. What are your reasons?
I was MIUI ICS for long and changed to pacman 4.1 and CM10 (4.1) all these ROM are not daily drivers. So now just wondering which is best config and Android version gives optimal performance on aging Neo Hardware.
I have Xperia Neo V with locked boot-loader and stock kernel .587. After trying several ROM I have settled on 'Ice Cream Pureness', with a few of my own changes, like Cyber-shot camera 7.1.2, Walkman, stock calendar, etc. This is very smooth ROM, with no bloat ware, and lots of free Internal memory.
MIUI
MIUIv2
based on CyanogenMod 7
I am Using MIUIv2 MultilangV4.6.2 because:
Lot's of Free Ram -> Up to 230 MB
Lightning Fast
Nice Battery Performance
No Errors like FC & etc (Only FC in Sync Settings)
Bright User Interace Easy to use good-feeling
Lot of other reason
I suggest everyone ti try it once;

In my opinion MIUI v2(GB) is houndered times better than MIUIV4(ICS)
I use Codename X by eman
Why?
-Stable
-Fast
-Options
-Free Ram
-Nice design (but keyboard sux)
-And CyanogenMod is comercial for me
For now i using MIUI Australia v 2.11.30
After try other rom,for me this one is the great rom for my device.
Coz not so many custom rom for Neo L :crying:
Hi,
I used Sony ICS on my Neo V and I was all the time thinking to downgrade to GB. Now I have installed CM10 and I am quite happy. It is true that it is not stable and there are some features missing, but I have quite a good performance. I miss mostly the camera features, but there are some apps on the market that are really helpful (Vignette or Pano/360 for panorama).
Mine lol
im using my first rom BRABUS NXT for Neo V based on GB
1) lots of free ram [265mb at first reboot]
2)smooth interface based on Xperia Z
3) great battery when overclockked on stock 1024 gHz
4)nice performance
5) most beautiful launcher/systemUI/framework
try it if you like it
ROM Cooked On My Own. (Basically Stock Based, ICS)
Reasons:
-Able to choose selective apps & mods
-Able to theme the way I want it
-Stock base because it is bugfree.
-ICS because there are more mods & apps available which are not compatible with Gingerbread.
-Finally, don't have to wait for the updates!
Cheers

For now I'm using Gin2JellyBean ROM (based GB 2.3.7) by vokal1992. All I want just stability, no lags, music, and camera. And I think I got thats all in this ROM :victory:
Using Legacy Xperia 10.1 (2013/09/08 release)
1/ Its stable, havn't had any FC or restarts.
2/ The ROM is nice and smooth / no lag issues.
3/ Its Jelly Bean - maybe its a personal preference but I tend to like JB better than ICS.
4/ Quite a good amout of free storage and no issues with RAM either.
1 con is that my battery tends to last me about 12h I feel that the battery drains rather fast even with the screen off. However so far the above pros does negate this one for me.
I have been using the ZellyCream 3.0.1 with Stock ICS Kernel
Pros:
1. Nice look and feel
2. Install Apps directly to SD card - built in feature
3. Kill apps via back button, 30 Step volume, Skip tracks via volume key and many such small but useful features for day to day use
4. Very much stable for daily use
5. Good battery life
Cons:
1. Initially used to give quite a lot of free RAM, but after a few days and installing the regular apps, the amount of free RAM went down
Xperia Ultimate HD 5.0 with Alliance kernel.Fast, stable with unified and pretty design. Before this one I used Gagan's Zelly Cream 3.0.1 as my daily ROM,that one was good too but UHD 5.0 is faster and prettier.Dont like Jelly Bean ROMs because they have crappy camera and are often buggy.
I use CM 10 ... I used to run on MIUIv4 ... but sice I ve tried JB everything has changed ... ICS is slow for me and GB is old. I think it s worth of HDMI and 720p recording.
I just moved from STROID to Xperia Z Jelly Bean purely for 'beauty' reasons. I installed the ROM last night and have been really impressed by its beautiful GUI. I don't plan to play a lot of games so I don't know whether it can perform well for heavy games.
It's always a question of Performance or Appearance
I use 4.2.2 Mike's rom with few Xperia apps to get stock feel it's pretty stable also latest rom we can enjoy latest features... Only thing i'm missing is camera quality

fm radio??? why 3,4 does not suported yet
Hi , i read that the lag on android will always stay even with recent version of android because the ui priority in android is normal against high priority on ios and windows phone the reason they are smoother , and i am pretty sure that every user uses custom roms because he expects a smoother ui , as experienced dev , witch is more defecult for you , porting new roms with kernels and drivers and fixing bugs or modifying existing stable rom to give ui the first priority and then a smooth ui as never on android( not allowing background apps using more than 5% of cpu for example , and sacrifice the full CPU power to user when he put his finger on screen and lives background processes demands ) ??
Sent from my SK17i using xda app-developers app
Can anyone advise what is the current lightest, and fastest ROM?
Coming from linux, it's pretty easy to pick a light weight distro, there are a tonne of very small but very fast options, with android it's much harder to tell what's light weight / fast, and what isn't.
I don't want to retire my S3, but it's getting a fair bit of lag on CM 11.2 (March release) 4.4.4.
Bump for interest
So no opinions?

i'm using axuan's (4.4.4 - AXUAN i9300sksukni3 - s5 - note4style - V2 TW ROM) debloated rom further improved by zuziemanis (kopet huan 416mb - best or kopet note4 542mb - themed), so far i find it the lightest. i can run CoC, spirit fm/music, torrenting without one of them being killed by lmk.
2 issues:
1. gps not working in power saving mode.
2. only spirit fm radio works
other tw roms:
1. back-to-noot 4.4.4 ported 694mb - no theme, plain, vanilla-like
2. [4.4.2] QSBased SmartDroid Simple KK 426mb - heavily debloated (have a bloatwares pack available), stable, ram management still can't beat 4.4.4
for aosp, cm, etc i'm not happy with the keyboard predictions & auto spacing (google, swype, emoji, etc), i can't recommend any.
It is my first time consulting in XDA apologies for any errors in advance. My query is if there is something that can be used to replace Game Tuner, in Android Pie it does not work anymore and it lacks the option to improve the Hardware Performance. Using an S8 + and in games is like using an S4 for current games without Game Tuner, the performance is really bad. Apart from the option to go back to Android Oreo, is there any way to improve the performance of Hardware?:confuso::Rodar los ojos::llorando:
Hi Members
I purchased a Tab A7 Lite, didn't realise just how much lag this tablet suffers.
I did removed unnecessary apps, and did the ADB mod process to turn Ram plus off.
I haven't removed any Bixby or Sam's Free apps Vis ADB
Is their a magic bullet to resolve the laggy, stutter? it's most noticeable when swiping through the OS or One UI launcher on the device.
Has anyone found a solution maybe a lighter Launcher or custom ROM for the A7 Lite.
Failing any solutions, maybe a member knows of an 8 inch Android tablet that has good performance for £200 to £300.
Help is appreciated from members.
Regards

Try turning on Reduce transparency and blur in Visual Enhancement
One more thing ...
I found if we go to settings > display > screen zoom and increase the zoom level, it will make this tablet more smooth.
I feel it is acceptable. But I will try to install some custom rooms soon.
I am using A12.
Thanks you to both members, I've done as you have advised, I'll see if there's a marked noticeable improvement over all, and post back if it's a positive improvement to my A7 Lite's performance.
I'll keep my eye on the A7 Lite's forum posts, as custom ROM's start to get created and installed.
Regards to you both
Just one quick mention, I also turn on the 'Reduce Animation effects' switch in Visual Enhancements, I think that's also help...
Normally it's inadvisable to clear RAM on Android devices but clearing RAM worked for me on this device. Every so often when I encountered stutter after turning off RAMPlus I had to clear the RAM. Eventually the system adjusted to having a smaller RAM space and I no longer had to do this.
Degoogle tab mostly and samsung bloatware including account.
Try A7cleanup.sh for easy setup
If the device is unlocked and rooted SM-T220 wifi only and using Android 12 stock or gsi customAP based on a12 try this kernel I have compiled for mine :
* Features :
- Android 12 Only Supported.
- Permissive kernel.
(ViperFx sound mod can be installed)
- Wireguard Enabled.
- DragonRise Generic Gamepad Enabled.
- Hard Optimized Compiler Cflags Used.
- Audit and Dynamic debuging disabled via kernel command line.
- Used Recent Toolchain.
( clang 14 + gnu binutils 2.40 )
How to install :
Install Smartpack Kernel Manager And Backup current running kernel
Then flash the boot img attached .
Share your results.
I'm sharing it because my device works much better reduced lags and much more but here is the disclaimer I'm not responsible for any bricked device .
