This is a known problem. Just search on Google and you will find hundreds of people with this same issue.
I experienced it too, and it was very frustrating. But ultimately I managed to unlock my phone.
First of all make sure you are on the same account as the one with which you are signing in on unlocker app and that your SIM card shows 'activated' in your phone's Settings>MI Account>Devices. Then try these:
Login on i.mi.com using your phone number and not email or account ID. Do the same on your phone.
Try using different USB cables.
Try locating your device using i.mi.com
Turn on the GPS in your phone before trying to unlock bootloader.
Complete all your details in MI forum. Also make sure your account security status is at 100% at mi.com
Turn off your antivirus protection.
Install MI PC suite.
Try to increase your reputation on MI forums

Having the same problem, I have tried every little thing on the Internet, couldn't unlock officially till now,have tried for more than 20 days, created new MI account for my self and requested for unlock permission, will try later with new account. For me, it took 3-4 days on chinese beta rom to unlock the device. Do not change the rom. Try again everyday with the official usb cable. It will take few days for certain cases.

And.. Yeah, you've to wait few days..
Try binding your Mi account using fly VPN (Shanghai server) connected. You'll get an error while binding ignore it..
Now wait 3-5 days, then try unlocking.

Afaik, you'll get an error to bind your account while you unlock bootloader with newer tools. So, try binding it, ignore if you see any errors.

made my request yesterday, today i got the permission and tried it. then i got the error with 30 hours. as i´ve seen in several fora, it seems that u need your account for a little time to be able to unlock the bootloader, even when you got your request. so tomorrow (30) after i got the error, i will try it again and hopefully it´s going to work

86012 error while binding account
Can anyone help me with this 86012 error? I get when i try to bind my MI account in Settings>Additional Settings>Developer Mode>Mi Unlock Status. I got permission to unlock yesterday and when I tried unlocking my bootloader via the app it is stuck at 99% error is Current Account Is Not Bound To This Device. Can anyone help me in this regard? Any help would be highly appreciated.

If you go through the thread you will find many users have gone through the phase you are currently going through . The only solution , as they say, is to WAIT . This is my first xiaomi device and its very much pain this way to unlock . I am also waiting btw for unlocking my device . Haha hope to get it unlocked by 12 August .
Mi Co. had fix bug like you could unlock your device at the moment of you got the permission by using Unlock Tool underV1.0.BUUUUT!,If you had unlock another device before,you can login in that accout in your new phone,and use the newest version of unlock tool immediately.
Okay, I'm pretty sure it's because their English isn't very good. It means you have to wait 72 hours AFTER getting permission, (i.e., try again in XX hours) before you can unlock. It's like a cooling off period in case the phone has been stolen or like if you buy a gun, you have to wait 72 hours before they give it to you.
Does unlocking a boot loader wipes all the data from the device?

Thats totally normal dont worry bro , it just take 3-4 days to update the data in mi server , just try to unlock it after 3-4 days , your phone will be unlocked definitely and dont frorget to remove the fingerprint lock before get into fastboot mode . Hope it will help you ?

No. You must wait 72 hours from the moment you received the unlock authorization.
To fix "device not bounded" you must enable the developer options first, then go to:
Settings > Additional settings > Developer Options > Mi Unlock Status > Add account and device

dude first it is been 72 hours since I got the permission
and second I already tried bounding my device and it says your account bounded but in the mi unlock tool it says your account is not bounded

Then install just the recovery and follow the guide. It should work. If you don't root after installation of recovery, it will revert to the stock recovery, so there is no need to panic.

you mean this guide (in link below) . I have my sister's account logged in and i cannot unbind it when i try to factory reset it. Should i flash custom rom or wait for the servers to be up (which i dont think will be up soon

OMG!! I have the saame problem!! I tried to install the EUI rom and now i can't loggin and it does not let me continue. I guess I can not use a original ROM for my phone anymore... Any idea??

What is strange the same thing happens on any custom ROM (7.1.2 or 8.0)
I also tried to modify host files. Same result

Hello to everybody!!
I have a note 3 pro kate version and i have one strange problems with the screen. It doesn´t mind which miui rom i have installed, stable or developer version.
At the begining i choose spanish language on the first configuration menu, because the phone is for a persons who doesn´t speak english, and when i start downloading all the apps or i start using really hard the phone i get randoms black screen situations, the screen turns black slowly, like if it´s vanish and when it wants it appear again, like nothing happened and then it gets black again, really random situations.....
I don´t know what to do, because if i don´t find a solution i will have an expensive paperweight.

Seems like a hardware have u dropped the phone or may be the person from which u have bought the phone have dropped it bcs my friend is having similar kind of issue though he has a redmi note 4 but problem is similar
U can trying flashing miui using Mi Flash tool if that doesn't solve ur solve problem then it is definitely a display issue
Search on google how to Flash redmi note 3 kate

Hello, thanks for your answer.
I tried many times flash a new fastboot rom using miflash tool and roms throw recovery, but i couldnt resolve it. The thing, when i get that random Black Screen, i can use normally the phone, it sounds and it vibrates but the screen its Black....

Then it is definitely a hardware issue
I think problem is like screen goes black and then after some seconds it comes back to normal

I used miflash tool beta version and final.
1) i download stable fastboot rom from MIUI con.
2) i extracted to the desktop.
3) opened the miflash tool.
4) select the extracted directory where is the rom.
4) put the phone in fastboot mode.
5) conect to the computer.
6) i select flash all in miflash tool options.
7) Start flashing.
I think i didn't forget something.....

Best result i guess u should try aosp roms and tell us the result just search the forums of xda and u will get the tools necessary to begin with.
