[Solved]Titanium Backup + G5 - LG G5 Questions & Answers

When I got my G5 I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and SuperSu and removed encryption, then used Titanium Backup to freeze a bunch of stuff I didn't need (mostly LG and Vodafone crap).
A couple of weeks ago I had to defrost something and it worked just fine ... I tried that today and nothing. TiBu says it defrosted it, but that was a lie. Then I tried to freeze something (Google Photos) and same thing - TiBu said it was frozen but it wasn't.
I have no idea why it suddenly stopped working and I'm hoping someone else might? On my S4 I never had that problem, so I'm stumped.
Root is still present, no system updates (it updated to 10c before I even rooted it) and nothing has changed that I can see. Under Apps those frozen ones show as Disabled with the button greyed out so I can't tap/enable from there either.
Any help would be appreciated :crying:
I made a logcat, at least I think it has everything that's important in it - maybe someone can make some sense out of it: http://pastebin.com/DHmp7bMV
Thanks

Nobody :crying:

I assume your having trouble restoring backups from an old phone. The above might help with that.

Have the same problem on my GNex. It's not root because Adaway can install the adblocker.
my root is working perfectly fine tho
temasek already explained. i'm guessing it's that sdcard permission thingy screwing things up
BUT, i've tried to backup to local and still showing error....weird
this is really scary, can't backup my data...
i did flash back the cm10.1 and it works fine again, guess just the app doesn't support cm10.2...

I've found a fix that may help you:
To fix, simply go to Settings->Developer options (if you don’t have that option go to About phone and hit Build number like 5 times until it says you are a developer), and set Root Access to “Apps and ADB”.
Then close all of your apps and re-open, you should now see Superuser window, problem fixed!

Unfortunately, because I've not enough posts, I can't link direct to the article but, I found it on the HighOnAndroid website.
Worked for getting Titanium Backup running on my S2.

It's not worked for me (S4 cm10.2 from cm10.1)...
This is worked for me:
Titanium backup Users
1. In tb go to menu>preferences>backup folder location
2. Navigate to storage/emulated/legacy
3. Select your Backup folder and Select "Use the current folder"
4. Then it will ask you to move backup to that folder.... Select that
5. Restart app and restore.

[Q] Trouble restoring with Titanium Backup after upgrade to CM 10.2 (4.3)

OK. So I spent hours and hours trying to figure this out yesterday with no luck. I have searched and searched and only come up with a few suggestions none of which have worked.
My previous/current ROM: Android Revolution HD 12.0 (4.2.2)
My new/desired ROM: Cyanogenmod 10.2 Nightly (20130826) (4.3)
The CM rom looks awesome and works really well and really fast. Only one problem, I cannot manage to restore any apps via Titanium Backup.
When I attempt to restore (either app or app+data), TiBu hangs and doesn't even begin to restore.
I looked around for info and found suggestions to verify USB debugging enabled, verify apps allowed from unknown sources, both are good.
I also found a suggestion to switch App Processing Mode in TiBu to Indirect, Auto. No change.
I even tried switch to interactive and that's when I see an error when I attempt a restore saying "Unable to parse".
I noticed that I can install the app fresh from the market, and then restore my data successfully. (Although some apps crash on launch doing it this way).
Even then, if I make a new backup of an app on the CM ROM, I still cannot successfully restore it back on that same firmware. So something in TiBu seems very broke. I am told it was updated for 4.3 so I am guessing this is something I am doing wrong.
I tried manually installing BusyBox on the new ROM...no luck.
One thing I notice, when I first open TiBu before attempting any restores on the CM mod, at the main TiBu screen HyperShell is green and says yes. After a hung restore and having to force close TiBu it then stays at red and says no.
I am back on ARHD 12.0 from nandroid backup for now, but any help on this so I can get over onto CM would be really appreciated. Cause I am so lost.
Try installing the SuperSu zip. The Problem is your root. This should fix everything for you

Hmm. I thought CM ROMS were rooted by default? It has SuperUser built in and pretty sure Titanium prompted for root on first run and I said allow always.

Sure enough. I installed the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.43.zip from the ChainFire's website in CWM and rebooted and allowed Su to TiBu via SuperSu instead of the built in Superuser and my restores worked perfectly!
Thanks so much!
(I tried to paste the link here in case anyone else runs into this but couldn't, not enough posts yet. But just google for the above file.)

Glad it helped you out. Also just FYI, I have to re-install SuperSu after each update. This is probably normal though.

Unable to write to storage card - TIBU & TWRP

***Update***
After flashing a custom rom the problems seemed to worked themselves out. Mods you can delete.
Hey guys,
So I rooted my phone using the towel one click and custom installed twrp. However, now that I am trying to backup apps and the original rom I'm getting insufficient space errors. If I change the directory from extsd to just as titanium is able to recognize it.
I know the card is fine because i pulled it directly from my note 2 and was able to backup on it there.
Anyone having a similar issue or knows how to fix it?

LG G6 Debloating guide

Heu there guys, any guide/list of apps safe to be debloated on our non rooted G6?
+1!
Can't remember what thread it is but there's an app called LG package disabler that will on install show what can be disabled/debloated. I'll go back and look but I'm pretty sure they mention under read more that they'll have a listing of what's debloatable in a future update. App is 99¢ over been using icebox since it was the first sick app I came across that did this. Using it with greenify has helped with battery life for me. Not as good as root and pulling the bloat off the phone, but at least it's not eating resources of frozen

Beautiful man. Even in custom roms I can pull 100mb from the build. And this is exactly what I've been looking for. Gonna dig into it deeper later on.
Now we just need a way to install mods to the stock build. Using the dual speaker mod for example. Is there anyway anybody knows to make those changes through adb? Like this deal? (which I've yet to try admittedly) seems as if you should be able to push an apk or file to the system through adb. Can you change the name on the file mentioned using this method or something like it or is it a root only thing?
The reason I'm pushing on this is that when you take your rig to an LG tech they need some way to modify things if needed. How would they do it is my $1,000,000.00 question.
And seriously guys, if I'm posting in the wrong place let me know please. Thanks
Good find! ?

Factory restore should not restore them, I have not tried it though. Hard to say if OTA will or not but also shouldn't.
Updating with LG Bridge I think will restore them though.

I've tried and it doesn't uninstall, just deactivates the apps. At least in my case. The factory reset restores all the apps again.

Great, thanks guys exactly what I needed to know. Appreciate it.
adb method = disabling apps that can't be disabled/accessed via the Apps menu.
apks are still in the system; gonna need root to clear that out for real
Does this void warranty or nah? Does using ADB for things like this or Greenify void warranty? That's my only issue before trying this out

Mokiee NIGHTLY Rom - Update file Corrupted Error...

Hello
I installed MK71.2-le_x2-201710060929-NIGHTLY rom to my Le Max 2 phone.
Clock is not opening and zoom option is not working on camera. I have 2 bugs but these are not imported for me right now.
I saw a update notification on my phone at Saturday night and I downloaded it. But I can not install this update package (MK71.2-le_x2-201710070930-NIGHTLY.zip - 647MB)
I saw second update information next day. But I can not install second update package again (MK71.2-le_x2-201710081057-NIGHTLY.zip - 647MB)
Phone is restarting and "File Corrupted" error appears.
Should I install whole package (647MB) ?
I want to install only updates and corrections.
How can I do this process?
I tried in Recovery mode or Fastboot mode but I failed. I got always "File Corrupted" error.
Please help me about this problem

Maybe you changed some system files. Anyway just download the rom from official website and try to flash it after wiping the dalvik and cache. Also if that still doesnt then do a clean flash by wiping data, system and cache. This should solve your problem

Dont wipe internal storage, clean install means wipe everything except storage and usb option. Yes you will lose your apps, but all the other files like pics, videos and music will stay. If that is also a problem for you then download es file manager, open it you will see apps option. Click on apps then select all your apps and then you will see a backup option, choose the backup option. All of your apps' apk files will be created in your storage which will be inside the folder named backups. So free your mind and do it. Its better to lose some data rather than having a problematic device. Best of luck, i wish clean install solves your previous problems with mokee

Thans man but there has to mre easier way to do this. This is very hard for every update.
Is update process in Release Rom version works with same way?
I am looking for update process like normal phones. Click on update and system will do for me
I saw OTA update file for same update file but is was 20MB.
What is OTA update? Is this easier update file what I am looking for?
Thanks

Ota updates are about just installing the changes, not the whole rom again. Usually, custom roms are updated through a dirty flash where you don't wipe data. But if you start getting stuff corrupted or not working properly, a clean flash in recommended. It should be just this time when you need to use titanium backup. I think you can make a zip with all the apps and just flash it. Tho always have a backup of your rom

Yeah you're right. You were also talking about some 600+ MB zip files. You can download them from their site and install through twrp. Anytime you install something it's recommended that you wipe Cache and Dalvik cache. You won't lose anything if you wipe just this. Just remember to make a backup
