Hi.
I have Samsung Galaxy S3 and I want to install Kali Linux with Linux Deploy.
I have problem. I pressed INSTALL and in terminal is written in last point:
/data/data/ru.meefik.linuxdeploy/linux/bin/
linuxdeploy: /data/data/ru.meefik.linuxdeploy/linux/share/
debootstrap/debootstrap: line 354: tr: Permission denied
I rooted my phone and I don't know how to fix this error.
Can anyone please help me on getting JOdin3 to run ox OSX 10.6? I'm getting error to check Console for possible error messages whenever i try to launch the .jar file for JOdin3. Currently running Java 6, so idk if thats the problem because its too outdated but i tried upgrading to Java 8 to get it to work but Java Preferences wasn't built for that so i couldn't get that to work even though Terminal said i was on 1.8 instead of the original 1.6... If there are no fixes so i can run JOdin3 on 10.6, is there any other ways i can root my samsung s5 G900P? Tried using Wine to run Odin3 but couldnt get it to detect my phone.. also tried using heimdall but kept getting error Failed to initialise protocol... googled all of this and i really cant figure it out so Thank you in advance for the HELP
Hi, I'm trying to run parted after a 'pkg install parted' in termux on my galaxy tab a. Odin rooted with cf auto root. When I run it in termux I get permission denied. When i run it in android terminal emulator i get applet not found. I have tried moving the parted file to various folders to no avail. I have attached a link to my 'printenv' below
Busybox is installed to /system/xbin and termux is at data/data/com.termux
I tried to attach an img url of my 'printenv' but I'm still a noob and can't post links. Pls message me if that sort of info would help.
I've installed Linux on my Chrome OS tablet and i wanted my Canon MF3010 to work on it, so ive installed it's driver from canon's site. But when I open it now it's showing
"Change the user to root, and then perform the operation again"
What should I do to fix this??
Have you found a solution to this problem? I have my driver and connection setup and working if I start it in Linux terminal but when I try to start printer gui from chrome os I get this same message.

Hi.
I'm a bit new to android rooting but have experience with linux.
I was trying Complete Linux Installer app for installing Kali Linux on my android phone.
I follow the instructions the app provides by downloading the zip folder and extracting the two files into a directory called kali in /
Before this I installed both the terminal app and the Android VNC app on my phone.
When i try to boot linux it says "unable to get permission from terminal app. Please reinstall Complete Linux Installer"
...and I did. But to no surprise, it still didn't work.
The app requires rooted android. rooting android phone is a bit more than just getting root privileges on shell. You need to unlock bootloader and root the device first.
Also please note you can't run linux on android, these kind of apps just provide some chroot environment for command line you can connect to VNC or SSH.
The app mentioned is outdated, but you can use Linux Deploy.
