Dear developers,
I am using root rom from PACO S6 edge root rom here.
And also TWRP 3.0.x recovery rom.
After successful installation, there's boot loop. It's about sprint Hands free activation. And I troubleshoot this problem by renaming SprintDM.apk to SprintDM.bak
Then, the phone stopped to reboot, but there's notification about "com.android.phone has stopped", and "connections optimizer updater has stopped". Once, I troubleshoot this problem by edit file etc/hosts using Root Explorer. Just put # symbol in front of many google clients server. Like this one,
127.0.0.1 localhost
#74.125.93.113 android.clients.google.com
And now no more notification about those errors anymore. But the problem is now I cannot connect to Internet (using explorer or Chrome). And also I cannot sign in to google account.
Have any idea? Thank you so much for your help. :crying:
Here I report my getprop for further information.

Do you have recommendation for flashing my device?
I remembered before flashing this rooted rom, it was SM-G925FXXU3COI9 (Lollipop 5.1.1).
But it became SM-G925P. So, what do you recommend me to flash?
Thank you in advanced for your help.

Hi reinard92
Indeed, you have to be sure of the exact model you have in order to pick the correct ROM for it.
Go into "Download Mode" (Volume Down + Home + Power) and take note of which model you have.
With that information, go XDA Hunting
Nice regards.

Another same Problem
Thank you very much for your helm @Kdio
I checked the model in Download mode, it was SM-G925P.
But I remember previously it was SM-G925FXXU3COI9
It's happened also in other member's post here.
I try to install another ROM Renegade.
But the problem is the same with previous. It's about Sprint "Hands Free Activation".
When my phone was SM-G925FXXU3COI9, I can use any SIM-card. So I bought it without Sprint bundling.
I just confused why my phone become Sprint bundling after I installed custom ROM.
When I skipped the hands free activation, it said "Unfortunately, Connections Optimizer Updater has stopped".
Another ROM I tried is Clean Generic ROM. It was successful installed but stuck at Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge logo. It means doesn't enter the ROM.
If you have any information about this issue, your help is very welcome. Otherwise, I couldn't use my phone. :crying:
God blessed you

Hi reinard92
Your device is definitely a G925P ... forget F's.
To fully verify the device itself for any hardware flaw, I suggest you to flash a Stock Sammobile firmware. This will overwrite your recovery(loosing custom recovery), kernel (loosing root), baseband (modem) and system.
Recently I've experienced that a Odin flash did NOT wiped all so you should do a FULL WIPE before entering Download Mode
These are the firmwares available for you.
You may follow these general instructions.
Let us know how it performed with Stock.
Cheers.

Hi @Kdio
I tried to flash stock ROM you give.
This is following step I used :

Extract stock rom from .zip file to image file
Select AP file image G925PVPI1AOCF.
3. Plugin the phone, and reboot to Download mode.
4. Click start in Odin.
5. Then Fails.
SW Rev, CHECK FAIL, Device: 3 Binary: 1

Umm you can download CWM Recovery for your device from HERE
Then press "Install Zip From SD Card" in Stock Recovery, and you will get into CWM Recovery by installing that zip.
After that flash the zip I gave you, and there will be no Signature Verification problems (It is a typical problem for Stock Recovery, no worries). By default, CWM should have Signature Verification disabled, but if it isn't you can easily disable it in the menu.
You're on Stock 3E recovery right?
Download this : http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390233485161005747
Put it in your external SDCard
And flash it in recovery. It's signed so it should work.
If it doesn't, get a temporary CWM from here : http://bit.ly/12SfdWY

You can root this by using Ubuntu.
1. adb devices , to check for connected device
2. adb root , to gain root
3. adb shell, to check if you get root sign #. then exit
4 load SuperuserAndFullBackup.zip and extract to any folder. then
5. use adb push to push all files in /system/* to it destination
6. adb shell go into device
7. chown and chmod like permission in updater-script.

:fingers-crossed: The absolute best rooting package I’ve found is CF Root 6.4 (although I know Chainfire isn’t backing or updating anymore (it’s there’s)), It will root every Galaxy S3 i9300 firmware there is, well every firmware update that I’ve put on my phone including custom ROMS and there have been many. It will install SU App, and CWM recovery (albeit an older version) and does it EVERY TIME. It’s awesome. Being that it's a clone, who knows if it will work, anyways give it a go.
Quick ? How were you running Android 4.3 when it just came out 5 days ago & not even officially available for the S3. Just curious but correct me if i'm wrong
cf root wont work for it. It is not Samsung phone. it is just a clone cheap clone. I don't believe it is 4.3.

Hi, I don't understand, mobile ran so far (2 yrs) without any prob. I've been flashing and running all Temasek ROMs (4.4.4) without any issue. CWM v6.0.4.4. is installed. Yesterday, found mobile switched off and couldn't remember I switched it off, so I restarted it, and then nothing, I have the Samsung logo screen but it does not start. I can access to the CMW, but I can't do any restore, and dirty flash of ROM (still on the SD card). "reboot system now" gives me the same, stuck on samsung logo.
I do not understand. Anyone could advice me on what to try?
Many thanks

1. A clean flash. If it still hangs:
2. Flash newest firmware with Odin. If this fails:
3. Flash a 3part-PIT with Odin.

Issue now is that I can't anymore access to CMW...

Hi, I installed Philz recovery, I can access it. One thing is when I use "power options" and choose "power off", I'm getting a message: "Root access is missing/broken. Root. THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE" and 3 choices: No, Yes - Apply root (/system/xbin/su) and No...
anyway, when I try to install ROM, it's aborded, zip is "bad", I'll try to put on the SD card another version of the ROM.
Any suggestion?
Many thanks.
I tried a restore from SD card, it starts but at "Done 388/401Mb", I'm getting an error message: Error mounting /data! skipping format... can't mount /data!
any suggestion?
Thanks

Before you start using pit files (which should only be performed if you know exactly what you are doing) have you tried to return to stock I see you have a mac (Odin does not work with mac) so try this software first >> http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/ << read all the guides on how to use first. please only use pit files as a last resort before all options have been eliminated.
Thanks, I have both pc and mac, I was trying from work on my mac, but I usually do on my pc.
ok, I'll try stock rom, should I then do a clean install (use this feature from PhilZ recovery)?

If the phone runs out of battery, or just decides to instant reboot for no apparent reason, one or more partition can corrupt.
This is why an efs backup is essential and a nandroid is advised.
Hey guys,
So I tried to root my S6 Edge and it got stuck on startup, I tried flashing back to the stock ROM, for the SMG-925F, which is the phone I have. Odin fails when flashing the rom. On my phone it says SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: , BINARY: 2.
I would really appreciate help as I just got this phone and it is quite frustrating.
Thanks for all the great work you guys do.
Do you have a custom recovery installed?
If so, upload zipped ROM via USB (MTP or USB host) boot to recovery, flash a 5.0.1 ROM from there, flash supersu afterwards and reboot system.
If no custom recovery , you can still try Samsung KIES software and use emergency recovery,

The reason you probalby got stuck in starting screen is because you did not unlock the bootloader from developer setting which will cause it not to boot. But for the second part I don't know why odin does this; it seems like extracting the package let's you install the things that are actually needed.

Logs would be appreciated. Get adb installed on your computer and authorize your device (good ol usb debugging etc) and I want you to do "adb shell ls /data/misc/wifi" and post the output. Also, have you tried reporting this in the thread of the rom? Have you tried another rom? If you're in the urgent need for a device, why would you use a custom operating system for it? I mean, what's the worst that could happen, a vital function doesn't work. Also, try to use an older version of the rom. Those are just my $0.02.

BTW how to get those logs? "
"adb shell ls /data/misc/wifi" isn't working ("adb shell ls /misc", "adb shell /wifi")
only "adb shell ls /data" and i can't get a log of that-there isn't any option there.
Also, have you tried reporting this in the thread of the rom?
I thought that it isn't permitted by the laws of XDA forums, then didn't do that.
Have you tried another rom?
Yes I've tried another Rom, and still the same problem (no network and no signal).
If you're in the urgent need for a device, why would you use a custom operating system for it?
Because, the original rom after flashing it, stuck in the galaxy S5 screen and the android system doesn't get up at all.

First, have you verified that your IMEI didn't get erased?
When you flashed the original firmware, you said it bootlooped and wouldn't boot into android system, did you try booting to stock recovery then factory reset and wipe cache partition? Sometimes this is necessary after flashing with Odin.

The firmware that you flashed, was it older than the stock version that was already on the device? Most Samsung devices that were made after the introduction of 4.4 Kit Kat can't be downgraded. In other words, if your device already had stock lollipop then you can't flash Kit Kat but you can flash lollipop or Marshmallow, if you go up to marshmallow, you can't go back to lollipop but you can go to nougat, if you go up to nougat then you can't go back to marshmallow and so on and so on.
You can stay where you are or step forward but you can't step backward. This probably isn't your issue.
Are you certain that the firmware you are flashing is for your exact model number?

And now when i'm trying to flash this Rom (4.4.2) or any other from the other Stock Roms for this device (SCL23)
it's passing the first screen that says "Samsung Galaksy S5" and stuck on the second screen that says only "Samsung" or "Galaxy" (depends on the andriod version 4.4.2/7.1.1).
I'm without any cellular device for 5 days now.

If you flashed 7.1.1, it probably upgraded your bootloader (wiping your personal data in the process). If it upgraded bootloader, you probably can't go back to 4.4.2. I described this in my earlier reply.
Try booting to stock recovery then factory reset and wipe cache partition, then boot into download mode and flash 7.1.1, after flashing, if it doesn't boot, boot to stock recovery again and factory reset and wipe cache. If that doesn't work then maybe flashing the PIT along with the 7.1.1 firmware might do it. I would not use the PIT unless, the last resort, I can cause worse issues if something goes wrong.

Try booting to stock recovery then factory reset and wipe cache partition, then boot into download mode and flash 7.1.1,
-You mean to flash to 4.4.2 in Download mode and then within Recovery mode to to do factory reset and wipe cache partition, and after that to go to Download mode and flash 7.1.1.
And if that won't work to PIT along with the 7.1.1 firmware- how to that, from where do I get the PIT?

Try booting to stock recovery then factory reset and wipe cache partition, then boot into download mode and flash 7.1.1,
-You mean to flash to 4.4.2 in Download mode and then within Recovery mode to to do factory reset and wipe cache partition, and after that to go to Download mode and flash 7.1.1.

No, don't flash 4.4.2.
1) boot to recovery, factory reset and wipe cache.
2) boot to download mode, flash 7.1.1.
3) if it doesn't boot after flashing 7.1.1, boot to recovery, factory reset and wipe cache.
4) if it still doesn't work, try flashing 7.1.1 again but this time find the PIT file for your specific model number and flash it along with 7.1.1 in Odin.
To find a copy of your PIT, do a Google search for:
"PIT for (your model number)"
If that doesn't find it, you'll have to find someone here at XDA that has your exact device and has theirs rooted, get them to pull a copy of the PIT from their device using Terminal Emulator or adb shell, then get them to upload it for you so you can download the copy and use it.
You'll have to do some searching to find out how to pull the PIT.

I explained where to get it if you don't find it on the web, did you read my entire post? I will not repeat myself when the answer is in the post above yours. That's how you got in this mess, you don't thoroughly read and pay attention to the details.

Few questions...
1. Was this a clean install? All partitions wiped?
2. Are you sure u got the Japanese varient ROM?
3. Did you try this one ? https://sourceforge.net/projects/re...v5.8.3-20170518-kltekdi-Official.zip/download maybe the build was bad that u installed. This is more recent.

You find them by looking around or use the XDA search feature, the one that says "search all forums", type your model number there, you should find other threads about your device in the results, look through those threads and find someone that has been active recently and has a rooted device like yours, then get them to pull a copy.
Sorry, but you're not gonna get this kind of answer just handed to you, you're gonna have to do the hard work for yourself, we don't spoonfeed, we give the information needed to help you find the answer YOURSELF, it is YOUR device, if you want it fixed then you should be willing to dig deep for answers.

OK i'll try that. Thanks.
Hi guys.
I need help ergently.
First i´m sorry if i post in wrong section of the forum.
Now to my problem.
I am trying to root this mobile using odin to flash twrp and then in recovery flash supersu.
I have used google to find guides and even checked here, but no luck, that i have found i follow every step.
So what have i done?
i downloaded twrp (all of them just to be sure, and for xcover 3).
I downloaded odin, the last version.
I downloaded the last version of supersu.
I installed odin and followed a guide where i should put twrp in AP slot in odin i turned my phone in download mode and hit start, it passed and i removed usb cabel and pulled out the battery and tryed to enter recovery mode, but i got a message that says "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing" and then nothing.
I saw a post that says that is because i have the wrong twrp file, ex. if i use twrp for android 4.4 but my system is 5.1 this will happen, so therefore i tryed all twrp.
I have tryed everything i can find, can anyone please help me?
My phone´s modelnumber is SM-G388F and my CSC: G388FOXA1BQC1 (wich i cant find anywhere) and my AP: G388FXXU1BQC2 (also no where to be found with these exact numbers).
Please please help me.

That worked, it installed and so on.
But when i install twrp i still get "recovery is seandroid enforcing" when i try to get in to recovery.
But after a second i jump in to andrdoid's own recovery but i cant install supersu from that.
I should ad that after i flashed with odin from your link i flashed the latest twrp, that was correct or did i mess up somewhere?
Hi , flash this trwp recovery with Odin .
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/xcover3ltexx/twrp-3.1.1-0-xcover3ltexx.img.tar.html
After that pull out your battery and do this step:
Press and hold Volume UP key + Home Key
then put battery back on and press and hold Power key also
Release all key when you see Android TWRP Recovery.
Make BackUp if something goes wrong !
Hope it will work for you .

Hi.
Thanks for the reply.
I have already tryed twrp 3.1.10, but i tryed with your instructions as well.
But no it did not work, i tryed with auto restart option ticked in odin and without, but with no luck.
Im starting to wonder if it is possible to even root this phone?
I don't have that device to make a test , but probably twrp will not work on Android 5 , try to flash him back to KitKat and then flash the latest twrp recovery.
So if i flash kitkat and everything works well with twrp can i flash lollipop back and still have root?
Or do i need to keep kitkat?
And do you know where to find kitkat for my phone?
Here you can download kitkat , registar for free and click join 0, if you flash to lolipop back you lose Root Rights and also twrp because it will probably overwrite stock recovery from android 5 (Lolipop) .

Someone already posted pre-rooted firmware for your device , but do at your own risk because maybe that firmware will cause problem on your device !

Hi.
I followed your advice, but it didnt work.
When i flashed 4.4 then it got stuck on samsung logo, so i flashed back to 5.1 and i am now at point 1 again
Any other suggestions?
Hi , once again , try first to enable Enable USB Debugging you have on the internet about that , and try with other Kitkit version. Once you flash go to recovery mode and wipe cache partition .
Hi.
I have had USB debugging checked from start.
But nothing work, not even trying different types of firmware.
I'm on the brink to give up now, nothing I have tryed have worked, can it be unroot able?
My kid will be dissapointed, thanks for all the great advices you have given me.
And if anyone have other thougts of what to do i'm open to try it.
Hi.
Here is the hacked together twrp that works on sm-g388f lollipop 5.1. This is the only version that works, so don't update it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69813173&postcount=135
Rooting can be done by using the method that is provided on Samsung Xcover3 Development thread, by Matt07211 on the first post.
I recommend to read, especially those 3 first post very thoroughly and all the links that are in those posts.
You will find files for rooting, custom kernel and a version of xposed that works on g388f.
There is no custom roms for this device but if you do modifications that can be done with information provided in the developing thread, you'll have a device that has enough of free space, better batterylife, fairly good performance and holds up even in a more rough way of using a phone.
Hi , i have one question , i bought a galaxy xcover 3 from a guy , i was checking up the phone ect , magisk was installed exposed seems also ( i will tell you why ) but both of them have no user interface , ( i can see magisk as com.topjohnwu.magisk) , but there is no magisk app nor manager ( i checked all apps if its repacked ) also the mock app works ( guy used to work as delivery ) so fake gps works but also there is nothing shows xposed is installed ? how can that be possible ? or .. can you delete the app ( magisk and xposed ) after rooting and everything ?
