For rooting, you can use any customization. By the way, why don't you downgrade to Kitkat?
It's quite easy. After rooting and installing recovery, you can upgrade to your desired MM pre-rooted firmware.

Yeah as long as it's Kitkat, it should be easy to root.
To simplify: Downgrade firmware, Root, Install Custom Recovery (CWM or TWRP, or both), Download pre-rooted flashable zips (OR you can prepare your own pre-rooted package via PRFCreator), and finally flash your pre-rooted MM.
I'm currently using pre-rooted MM 23.5.A.0.570 though.

I think you should find and flash a kernel with auto root in it's features.

Didn't you read my reply above friend ?
Check it, that's the only procedure on locked bootloader
You know how to flash only kernels outta a firmware ?
If not then check the screenshot attached. Mark the same in flashtool
You can get the 6.1.1.B.1.10 firmware from here talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239
And .54 you already have

Yes, but do not flash the whole firmware.
Just flash the kernel, I uploaded an attachment in my reply above that tells you how to flash kernel only.
So fash .10 kernel
root using bin4ry
flash .54 kernel
easy

Hello,
I'm Yazan and I'm new to this developing stuff. I had an old Samsung that I used to play with and rooted it but moving to the Xperia z2 was a big upgrade. I have very low experience and would love to root my Xperia z2. I have updated it to the generic lollipop update and would like to know if there is a way to root it. And also could I downgrade to 4.4.4 KitKat root it and install a rooted 5.0 stock ROM?
Thanks for the help. I'll be waiting. :fingers-crossed:
You need to downgrade it to 4.4.2 Kitkat, root it, install Dualrecovery, and then flash a prerooted lollipop firmware via recovery.
Please search the forum for how to do it..

... So I could flash (downgrade) a stock 4.4.2 ROM directly from 5.0.2 using flashtool, then root it and install dual recovery then flash the 5.0 pre rooted rom using the recovery? And btw my bootloader is locked should I unlock it first.

No need to unlock bootloader... Just do as you said...
The intention of downgrading firmware is to gain root without unlocking bootloader.

What about the recovery, is it okay to install the custom twrp recovery? I saw it on a video on youtube.
I previously flashed a firmware I got from xda which was customised .546 and now that .200 is released, Can I create my own flashable .zip .200 and flash it over my rom without any issues?
Will I lose my data? ( I suppose not)
Will there be any reception issue?
I have flashed some z5 app mods
I guess I will lose it
Right?
Just need some clarifications
Thanks

Yes, the firmware installer formats the system partition so you lose everything you flashed onto that partition.

I have no idea. You have to check that for yourself. In case the baseband will malfunction in any way you can always reflash the firmware from different region.

I've a little Question.
I want to root my Phone. I've installed latest official Marshmallow update (G925FXXU3DPDP) and don't know what's the way to root. The cf-autoroot from File Chainfire is different from my current Buildnumber.
I saw a Video from "Highonandroid" in that he first flashed the SpaceX Kernel and then the Twrp, does this work?
One more Question: When i flashed Twrp and want to install a 5.1.1 over the Official Marshmallow, do i get a bootloop then?
Sorry for the Questions, but i am new at this and don't want to do anything wrong
Flash twrp as in original android development section. Then flash supersu.zip.
And no 5.1.1 rom on MM booloader.

Doesn't matter if the build numbers aren't exactly the same. As long as your device is g925f zeroltexx the root will work fine.
I have 6.0.1 g925f and i used cf autoroot a few days ago and no issues or errors

Hi,
I have a Sony Xperia Z2 D6503 with Android 4.4.4 KK already rooted.
Now I would like to upgrade my Android to the latest available stock Rom without losing root, DualRecovery or my data, in order to be able to use Magisk.
Could you tell me the best way to do that?? I assume I have to create a pre-rooted Firmware and upgrade through DualRecovery. How would I do that??
Thanks so much for your help in adavnce!
You can download the firmware you want from this topic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...-z2-d6503-customised-tur-23-5-t3442058/page10

There is no need to flash anything else just download the the customization you want(like Mena Arabic for persian language)and there is almost zero different between them
And flash it through recovery and there is no need for fix many times but if you got stuck in bootloop just flash the bootloop fix : https://mega.nz/#!AJcwERiQ!FUmk6eS5aoVsFSZ1f4WZIELIt7sckPCj11n0AIdCNzU
Okay thanks so much, this is what I thought. Download the zip, install via Recovery and thats it. Perfect
