I have tried everything online. They either ask me to download OPPO Tools APK which does nothing or suggest me to try other rooting apps like Kingroot, towelroot, one touch etc and nothing works! I havent even updated my firmware for half a year.
ColorOS version: V2.1.0i
Android version: 5.1.1
Build number: r7kfEX_11_151225
I have waited for half a year since I first tried to root and some apps like Kingroot says it's in queue.....for half a year now and no progress. So, does anyone know how to root an r7 lite? I don't mind many steps as long as it's clear what I should do.
Thanks.
EDIT: Nvm, i finally found a way in a comment buried in a forum. (cant post links...nvm)

Hi you could try my TWRP version which I build specifically for the "R7 Lite".
You can download it here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0bAICq7NVq1VmF2QnBqTGRIaUE
Also you will need to unlock the bootloader in fastboot. Let me know if you need any help with that.
This TWRP recovery doesn't work. MS8939 Oppo R7kf with the latest update installed 160324. My phone isn't booting in any mode after flashing the recovery nor in the Fastboot neither in the Recovery..

Hi everyone¡ I have a important problem trying to root my prime, i did it moths ago, but i didn't used it, and yesterday i decided to unlock the bootloader of the device, to put a diferent room, and i used the official way from asus.
The problem is that when i tryied to enter in any root-required aplication the authorization is denied by the superuser, and i've tried all the methos to root and unroot the device, but it's imposible, i've also installed the drivers given in the foro, and i think that that's okay, but at the times i try to start the adb it closes.
I hope someone can help me with this, i have experience in this kind of things but this time everything was wrong.
I let some information if it can helps:
Rom version: 4.0.3
Build number: 9.4.2.28
Thank you very much¡

But do this only if you are LOCKED (not unlocked)! If you are unlocked you can flash any firmware from development forums via CWM or TWRP.
RETRY
Try to do it again or google another ways to root your phone. I've also experience same problem before but I have repeated the steps again then after many trials it was rooted. Just have faith.
Look, the problem is that when i try to root the device with viper mod (i'ts the only one which allows me to start) alway says "only read system" or something like that, here it is. Please, put http//: if you wanna see the picture because i have less than 10 messages and i cant upload photos¡

Yes, i also tried it, but it's imposible the adb opens and a second after closes...
I just read again first post - you said you are unlocked successfully? Why dont you try to install custom rom that is already rooted.

use fastboot to push recovery... /end of story
Thank you so much¡ I installed the clockworkmode through the fastboot and finally i cant install the custom rom¡ Thanks to everyone¡
Just updated from 4.3 to 5.1 so I can get CarbonROM, and can't seem to find how to root it now. Kingo worked fine when it was on 4.3 if I'm not mistaken (I've rooted 6 devices since then, so I may be misremembering, haha). Now, it's no longer supported. KingRoot and Towelroot have also failed. I've been googling and trying to find the answer, but all I'm getting are the above methods, for 4.3. If I've completely overlooked something and am asking a dumb question here, then please forgive me. I'd appreciate at least a web link in the right direction if that's the case, or if this is a valid question then I'd love if I could get a bit of a walkthrough with this. Currently, I'm running the stock ROM, unlocked bootloader, stock recovery... which was needed because I had to update

ah, nice!! thanks dude, I'm new to the custom ROM scene and didn't know that was even a possibility. I really appreciate the help!
And to benefit others who searched and reached this thread, beside build in root in CM, for all ROM, you can always install SuperSu.zip in twrp to gain root. The detail is in the INDEX page root section.

Good idea.
Rooting 5.1 ham2
Download the mt2 l03 twrp image to your pc's adb folder on your hard drive
open command prompt from inside the adb folder. I believe its 'shift' and 'right click' mouse
then connect your device and run the fastboot twrp commands
twrp will root your ham 2
this all presumes that you've unlocked your bootloader
This post by @ArkAngel06 should be able to help it has Pretty much everything you need to install TWRP. It can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61802299&postcount=2 . Just look for the link titled TWRP for Mate2. I would suggest downloading the newest version of TWRP that's compatible with the Carbon, Cyanogen and PAC if you wanted to install them later on, Just rename the file twrp like the one in the folder and replace the one in the folder with the one that you downloaded. The new TWRP can be found at http://android.cmphys.com/twrp-mt2/ . Then just follow the instructions in the folder to install TWRP and SuperSU .
Trying to root an Astrotab but I'm not able to connect the device with usb debugging because I don't have the correct USB drivers on my windows 10 machine. After scouring the web I've been unable to find any in existence and hopefully someone here has been able to do so or knows of some workaround. I'm new to rooting and I am using an application called oneclickroot , I don't know if this is the best method but the software isn't recognizing the device due to lack of drivers. Here are my device specifications below
Model A935
Android version 5.1.1
Firmware Version v3.3rc5
Kernel Version 3.4.39 [email protected] #9

root apk
try to get some rooting apk on tablet, and try to root with that
Which do you recommend? I heard that kingroot leaves behind alot of bloatware that is hard to get rid of
UPDATE
Still not able to locate any ADB drivers for windows 10 on this device. Tried non pc apk's Kingroot , Towelroot/Iroot. Still no success , any help would be appreciated.
Working...
After 4-5 grueling hours finally got it working! How do i know if this is temporary or permanent root? I used root checker and it says it is properly installed on this device. Only thing there seems to be alot of bloatware on my device now. How do I tell what is safe to remove? Some crap called one click , app cool , etc was removed and I lost root access. Re-did process and got root again but still have the same chinese applications present on my device. App Cool , King root , superUser.. My question is do I have to deal with having them on my device , or is there a safe way to remove them without losing root?
app
Remove all except Superuser because it is main root aplication

Can you explain how you got it to root properly? I tried king root application on windows 10 but I couldn't get it to root. It's all in Chinese, as well.
I easily rooted this tablet with KingRoot then used the KingRoot to SuperSU script to get KingRoot replaced. But mainly I'm commenting because I just wanted any tablet owners to know that I have the stock firmware and flashing tools (windows) that u can use to get the tablet back to stock or save yourself from a bootloop ( I can confirm this because I bricked mine using substratum lol) Also I can confirm that marshmallow will b an option sometime during Q1 of 2017 as quoted from insipira.
Sort of....
The Marshmallow update will only work on A10 tablets manufactured after October 1, 2016 (according to the folks at Inspira) Unfortunately, it will give you a white screen and nothing more on older versions of the hardware - I know. I have one. I tried. It doesn't work. Save yourself the frustration. The biggest pain with the A10 is that the bootloader is locked and attempts to unlock it are a waste of your time. If you brute force KingoRoot on it, it will not survive a reboot because of the unlockable bootloader. The vendor is unable (or more likely unwilling) to provide an unlocking code which tells me future tablet business for self and clients will have to go elsewhere. PITY - it is a really nice little unit but not worth calling in the NSA to try to root it. Oh well, lots of other inexpensive Android Tablet vendors out there.

Can you explain how you were able to unlock the bootloader?
I have the same device and I've been unable to unlock the bootloader. I can get ADB working, boot into recovery just fine, but I can't figure out how to boot into the bootloader, whenever I try to (either using the adb command to reboot into bootloader or using recovery itself) it just shows the "Astro Tab" logo and gets stuck like that forever. I made sure to enable the option about allowing OEM bootloader unlock in the "Developer Settings" window.

Can you explain how you were able to use KingRoot to root this? I downloaded the apk from http://kingroot.net, installed it, and clicked the "Try Root" option, but it got stuck on the "Acquiring Root" step after a few minutes and completely crashed.
Here is a picture of where it got stuck: https://i.imgur.com/L4Pxtjn.jpg I couldn't even screenshot since system was frozen, and even connecting via ADB didn't work at this point. The reason I noticed that the device froze was because the clock did not update (it was around 8:30 when I took the picture, not 8:16 as shown).
I'm also having an issue unlocking the bootloader -- I can't even get to the bootloader (see my earlier post for details) but that's a whole different issue.

Hello people, I was wondering if anyone could please root this device. I am not asking for any custom roms, but maybe just a twrp recovery. I would like to root it, because look at the potential of a phone like this. Maybe we could have a bootloader unlock or something like that. I am ok with dedicating my phone to be a dev board. Also, I have tried all of the major rooting tools, and its a no-go. I've even tried SRS-ROOT and that is a failure even though it says that it works. Any help would be appreciated. -Thanks
Have you had any luck I'm also looking for a root same specs... Preferably a no computer solution.....
Root successful...........but at&t?
I was able to root with firmware version J120AUCS3AQE1 but because mine is an AT&T phone the bootloader is "locked and signed" meaning it's never going to unlock........? I have the latest version of firmware that came out in may 2017 and it will be available to you as soon as I can post an outside web address............ Every Recovery image that I flashed caused everything to fail and a big triangle that said AT&T detected software on your device that is not allowed on our device so I guess this one is never really your own........ but you can Root with Kingroot and supersume pro to get rid of bloatware and such but other than that no custom stuff on this one.
If Kingroot keeps freezing just restart phone and keep trying it took me a long while to obtain root.

I used cf-autoroot by Chainfire(of the SuperSU fame) it's a little zip package his website(although the thread and q&a is here on xda) what give u not just the root tool, but a XWM custom for ur divice(our device, rather, lol) AND the simple to use tool called Odin to flash it all 4 you!
I can't give links yet, but just search c'f-autoroot chainfire' inside xda, and it was either the second or 3rd link.
Step by step instructions incl!
Hope that helps!
Is SRSRoot feasible?
I saw it's twitter feed say that my phone model was rooted. I tested it and it said it worked but it just rebooted. If it did work I suspect it's work was rewritten upon reboot.

did you try with KingoRoot? or IRoot?
latest update for it was on 2015, it might be Old.
VWell, KingoRoot fails and then crashes. IRoot loaded my phone with Chinese apps and then failed. KingRoot says the device isn't supported. I'm kind of at a loss of what to try next, if there is anything.
Also, yeah, thanks for pointing out it was old. I actually didn't realize that.

OK, now we're talking, you can't root android 6.0+ with any one click root app, as far as i know, the device is new, you will have to wait till a custom Recovery is built for the phone, or you can build it your self, there are tutorials to build TWRP for general and also for MTK phones (In case your phone have one).
TWRP tutorial:

Alright, I'll look into it and see if I can accomplish anything. Thank you!

King root will root MANY phones with 6.0+and it's one click, but the older one clicks will not root 6.0+ however kingroot will NOT root this phone. This phone has a boot loader. And before anyone says anything, TRUE some phones, DONT have to have unlocked boot loaders to be rooted, but some do. As far as a custom recovery, exactly how you'd flash it to the device without root access I'm not sure. I even tried the old old zte merrit process for ginger bread, but you need to be really familiar with adb etc to use it. It's possible, just have to wait for some one that is a little better than me.. lol I noticed something in the build.prop that may be it, not sure. But it's no way to change that for sure without root. So not worth mentioning.
