Hello all,
I am totally new to the android hacking/developers circle and this is probably a really dumb question, but would it be possible to hack android ware to be used on a cheap Chinese watch. I can't afford a $200+ watch, but would love to have a smart watch, but can't imagine the stock UI on the cheap watches to be any good.
Anyway, any feedback would be appreciated,
Nathan
You can buy an lg g watch like me... it s cheap if you find a second hand one. Me and my friend paid 50€ for one. G watch has no heart beat sensor ,no wifi and other small things but, it s 100 times better than any Chinese watches .
I would recomend the LG Urbane smartwatch. This was launched in Q2 2015 and till now looks updated and according the trends. Works very well linked with android's mobiles.

Anybody successfully using a wearable device with the AM2?
I'd love to get the Sony SmartWatch 3 because you can use it as a gps/run tracker and music player without needing the phone nearby. However, I don't think it's compatible with the AM2.

Wearables work fine. I have the lg g watch. But because the phone isn't getting updated anymore with Google's 18 month rule the Android wear app won't get updates after April 2015 so I'm guessing it would still work but you wouldn't get the features from newer Android wear releases.

O dont. Think app updates and os updates are cut with the same knife..
I think that as long it's Bt 4.0. And android 4.3 + can be compatible ..
More like I hope hahah

Just got ham2. Only problem I have with the g watch is music controls don't work. Guessing its a jelly bean thing. Got an app for the watch that works.
Using and loving my pebble watch in conjunction with my HAM2. Two beasts when it comes to battery life. The pebble has enhanced my experience with this phone.

Judging by what you're saying it shows, you are compatible, Android Wear is compatible with 4.3 and above. However if your phone only has Bluetooth 3.0 support and not 4.0LE you'll see some battery drain outside the normal amount specified by both users of the device and the manufacturer. This is because 4.0LE maintains a link with the device without actively being connected to it causing it to use less power to communicate, 3.0 lacks this ability so your phone would need to keep an active link with the watch at all times.
That being said, don't let that discourage you from getting it, your phone is completely compatible as it is now and should give you an alright experience with the device. I personally love my LG G Watch and feel that it's the best purchase I've made in a long time.
thank you so much fantastic answer admins can close the thread

There is no english...
And you can't use the android wear app, you need a modified Lenovo app.
This is total BS, don't buy the damn chinese version!
Returned my watch today for a full refund. No way of getting English on it.

I bought one in China. it is a "custom" version of Android Wear and does differ from other ones. there may be no way to solve the problem until there is a way to flash moto 360 2nd.
at least google apps

I managed to install gapps and connect to AW 1.4 from Google PlayStore
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-360-2015/help/solution-moto-360-ii2015-china-t3308754
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I can read and speak Chinese so the menu display in Chinese is acceptable to me.
But it is not acceptable to use Chinese Android Wear. The reason is I have many AW watches, the others are all in English and works with the English (International) version of AW. My original Moto 360 Gen 2 went bad, the bottom half of the screen did not response to touch control. I cannot reset the watch because the confirmation button is near the right bottom of the screen. I called Motorola and they wanted $175 for repair out of warranty watch and $25 for shipping. I bought a used one from eBay but it was not the right color and have printed icons at the flat-tire area, WTF Moto did that? I returned it but have not seeing my refund yet and I had to take a trip to China. I bought a used on in Shanghai and it turned out to be China version.
Back to the main story. After I downloaded the Chinese version AW, I found all hell broke loose and started to search the Web for changing the ROM but with little hope. I have an International version of Huawei watch but the Chinese technician told me he couldn't change that to a Chinese version.
Here is what I did. I uninstalled both versions of Android Wear. Go to Google PlayStore and downloaded the latest Android Wear (2.0.0.167031085.gms) and installed it. Reset my Chinese Moto 360 to factory setting. After it paired and I quickly turned off Android Wear as suggested by this post.
It continued to sync. After all was done, I did not see the Google Play in the watch, display still in Chinese but the previous apps I bought in Google PlayStore works, that is ALL I care!
Using the Chinese AW, it will go to Lenovo Site for software. WTF!?? Nothing I needed there!
On the other hand, if you don't turn of AW after paired. Before it sync, it will tell you it is an incompatible version AW to the Chinese Moto 360. Shutting it off and not answering the question, I don't know why it will skip the step and continue to sync the software between the phone and the watch ( I have a Chinese Huawei phone).
The problem of changing the language is not solved but at least it can sync with the software purchased in Google PlayStore and I can use this watch.
Thanks again!
Hello,
There are sooo many Amazfit (Xiaomi?) watches avalaible and each model has even different versions which make it very hard for a newcomer to make choice.
I found a board comparing all of them.. But it's up to 2019 (beginning?), so a lot are missing. Also, they seem to have different names depending on the country..!
GTR, GTS... What is it called in China?! I want one that's Android based (so i can get custom roms, install apks..) and i'd like it to have speaker/mic, as well as non proprietary straps.
The Verge's the only one that fits (not for the straps though) according to that 2019 board but maybe one of the most recent one would fit..? Let me know!
Thanks.
Forget it.
Those with android have a "special" Android version where you have a very limited amount of working apps. ( and not wear ).
And as it is closed, and for a MIPS processor you will find no real custom rom.
Speaker/mic ? Why?
Stratos

He wants with ? and ? . Verge is the only offering from Amazfit while you can talk to Watch.
Stratos is for sports users.
T-Rex - for men with khaki who think they are tough
GTS - fashion Watch (period)
GTR - for men on suits
Pace - for sports enthusiasts people
BIP - for people looking for minimalist design and options
Rest are more dear than alive

I have been thinking about buying a Lenovo Legion y70, and the truth is that I have several questions.
The first is that if the cell phone allows the transmission of screen and sound in the discord?
Also, what is more recommended? Buy a version with the global rom installed on aliexpress, or buy it new and sealed and install it myself?
And also how is the experience with this cell phone? Is it recommended or are there better options?

1. Yeah why wouldn't it? You can do this on any android phone.
2. There is no global rom version. Some sellers off to install google play for you since it doesn't come with it. Either option is fine, but if you don't know how to do it and are going to have trouble figuring it out, having the seller do it will be more convenient, but otherwise it's not too hard to do. Keep in mind you are still using the CN rom, which while it does have English, and other languages, will still have the typical chinese rom bloat.
3. Mine hasn't arrived yet so I cant speak from experience, but if your budget isn't more than 300ish USD, you won't find anything with better hardware. However, this doesn't make it the best option, unless you don't mind being stuck on the chinese rom with no future updates. I think its worth spending the extra for a phone with a good global rom, especially if your carrier is supported (a lot of the alternative options didn't support my carrier), but I personally couldn't afford it which is why I've purchased one of these. If your carrier supports it, I think the Realme GT Neo 5 SE, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo are better options. They cost around 330-340 USD, have similar performance, better body weight/size, and much better software. Only thing they're really missing is dc dimming, and good frequency bands/carrier support.
I have a discord server for Legion Y70 information, and discussion here https://discord.gg/r5VMszTGVr, look in the #interested-buyers channel for more info.
