Questions about the Lenovo Legion Y70 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been thinking about buying a Lenovo Legion y70, and the truth is that I have several questions.
The first is that if the cell phone allows the transmission of screen and sound in the discord?
Also, what is more recommended? Buy a version with the global rom installed on aliexpress, or buy it new and sealed and install it myself?
And also how is the experience with this cell phone? Is it recommended or are there better options?

1. Yeah why wouldn't it? You can do this on any android phone.
2. There is no global rom version. Some sellers off to install google play for you since it doesn't come with it. Either option is fine, but if you don't know how to do it and are going to have trouble figuring it out, having the seller do it will be more convenient, but otherwise it's not too hard to do. Keep in mind you are still using the CN rom, which while it does have English, and other languages, will still have the typical chinese rom bloat.
3. Mine hasn't arrived yet so I cant speak from experience, but if your budget isn't more than 300ish USD, you won't find anything with better hardware. However, this doesn't make it the best option, unless you don't mind being stuck on the chinese rom with no future updates. I think its worth spending the extra for a phone with a good global rom, especially if your carrier is supported (a lot of the alternative options didn't support my carrier), but I personally couldn't afford it which is why I've purchased one of these. If your carrier supports it, I think the Realme GT Neo 5 SE, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo are better options. They cost around 330-340 USD, have similar performance, better body weight/size, and much better software. Only thing they're really missing is dc dimming, and good frequency bands/carrier support.
I have a discord server for Legion Y70 information, and discussion here https://discord.gg/r5VMszTGVr, look in the #interested-buyers channel for more info.

Planing to buy Mate 10 64gb, few questions before I do it

Hello Guys,
I’m considering buying Huawei 10 (NOT Pro), but since it’s not officially available in the countries I spend most my time in (Poland and UK), I’ll have to get it from Chinese shop. Having said that, I have my concerns and I’d be glad if you could walk me through them. My apologies if some on those questions were already answered, but some of the feedback I’ve gather from this forum come from the “early days” of this phone and I don’t know if they are still valid. Let’s get to it:
1) Is the system in Polish language? It might be under “(…) and many more languages” but I’d like to know
2) I should be looking for version L29, correct? Are those “international” versions on sites like https://www.giztop.com/huawei-mate-10.html really international, or just Chinese ones with switched software?
3) My current phone is Oneplus 3 – and I admire the simplicity of almost-stock Android. How much off a detour is MIUI in comparison? Will I have to deal with a lot of bloating in the system?
4) Since there won’t be a version for “big” markets like US and UK – could there be any issues with updates? Will Huawei abandon the support for international version anytime soon – speculatively speaking? Or is it possible for them to introduce this phone to US/UK/PL, but later?
5) I’d be taking 4gb 64gb version, but I’ve been using 6gb phone for a while now – will this “downgrade” be visible in daily use?
6) I’ve seen some complaints about the camera. I understand it’s not “perfect”, but right now I’m using oneplus3+g.cam port from Pixel 2 – so I should still experience a bump in quality, right?
7) I want to buy it from this site https://www.giztop.com/huawei-mate-10.html. Is there any reason I should pick a different one/wait?
Thank you for all your future answers, and apologies for a longer post.
Cheers!
I'm in a similar situation. I'm planning to buy from eBay the international version. The sellers there are based in either France or Ireland, they say they give you a year warranty but crucially you have PayPal protection.
I've seen other sites where a minority of phones never turn up or are broken and it's incredibly hard to get the money back.

1 - I don't know for sure but it should be there !
2 - Yes L29 is the version you should look for ! You can get one from here https://www.ebay.fr/itm/NEUF-HUAWEI...234857?hash=item4b2e0e4729:g:41oAAOSwytJaE9rW that's where I got one for my uncle
3 - EMUI is very customised version of Android but with big possibilities for themes so you should be able to make it look as you want
4 - We can't be sure of anything in that domain ^^ I just left Samsung because of giving update slowly... But for sure as the flagship of the brand it should get update faster than others
5 - It'll not. Some may not agree with me but 4gb of Ram is largely enough today !
6 - As I'm not a professionnal I could not tell ^^ but for sure Mate 10 camera is amazing and will only improve with software update improving AI
7 - As I answered on 2, you can get it from dwi on ebay, I've took 2 phones from them (S7 dual sim and Huawei Mate 10)
I live in the UK and I bought the L29 version, it works fine and you can select the system language when you setup the phone. The only issue I found is HiCloud wouldn't work but I rebranded to the L09 version and everything works
To answer your point 6
I'm also using a ported version of the camera app on my previous phone which is a Xiaomi Mix and the phone is notorious for its very poor camera lens.
It surprises me totally what software can achieve where the hardware fails at.
Even on the ****ty camera, the software managed to capture IMO equal or more details as compared to M10 on the pro mode.
So at the end of the day. Your OP3 having a better lens than the Xiaomi Mix should experience probably equal or maybe seeing a 5 to 10% bump in details.
If there's ever a chance that M10 could have the ported camera from Pixel on our phone I'll definitely be a very happy man.
Hi jay. I too live in the UK and planning the buy the L29. Was the re branding just to get the hicloud? Or were there other features?
Thanks

Here you go my friend : https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...amera-5-1-016-174405463-android-apk-download/
It's working on my Mate 10 Pro, imo it gives a little bit less blurriness and the photo is clearer in overall, sadly it lacks some features for our phone
Give us some results about photo quality please

Thanks for the link. I'm not referring to the stock Google camera but the exact one on the pixel phone.
https://www.google.com.sg/amp/s/www...gle-camera-hdr-customization-raw-support/amp/
It is the HDR+ that makes all the difference but sadly Google only enables it for the Pixel phone.
Hey sorry to jack this thread but whats the drawbacks of the Chinese version, bloat ware?? And wouldn't it get updates faster?
Also, wouldn't it be a better idea to buy the AL00.. 128 GB, 6 GB RAM Chinese Mate 10 version if you wanted to keep that 6GB of ram?
I just killed my HTC 10 with water so I'm thinking upgrading to the 6GB ram version would be a better move coming from 4GB. I just wish it wasn't so expensive lol 4GB international version is about $800 CND on ebay..

id like to know this too, also:
so which Huawei Mate 10 Pro 128gb version are you supposed to buy? there's L29 on ebay, L09 on clove uk website. handtec uk HM10P128TG, what's the difference between all of these? dual sim on amazon uk 128gb. L29 on wondamobile international version.
eglobal uk CN version. eglobal prices vary for 128gb version, why is that?
sorry so many questions!
essentially i'd want to root and custom rom, is there really dev support for this, I'm coming from samsung and devs have been a lot etc. im over samsung note series lol...
thx

Well that's the Mate 10 Pro, not the Mate 10, the Pro does not have an SD card slot. I don't know what the CN is but the L29 I had was for the Singapore market, so Huawei Cloud didn't work until I flashed the L09 Firmware

yeah I noticed it's the pro, tbh I wanted the finger scanner on the back. I'm going from a lifetime of sd card to no sd card. feel like I'd need a tutorial on how to go about that and backing up consistently lol....
think I can get away with no SD card
so how come they list an item with no model number?
also can you change the soft key buttons placements? move them into opposite spots etc lol?

Questions About Xiaomi, And The Poco F1.

hello! my first ever post so please tell me if i do anything wrong.
So now that huawei no longer gives unlock codes many previous huawei fanes are scattered trying to find a new favorite OEM, and i think Xiaomi would be the best for me, but i need to understand a few things before i buy one:
1- Does unlocking/rooting void warranty? and is it like the Samsung case where they would have to be sued in order to get the warranty?
2- Is MIUI really that bad as people make it sound?
3- What are your thoughts on the poco f1?
4- What are the most special things about Xiaomi phones that makes you like it?
1. They are officially supporting bootloader unlock, but not sure about rooting and custom ROM, btw, you can always flash stock ROM with Xiaomi flash tool and fastboot images.
2. MIUI is one of the most feature rich ROM, the Chinese version is the best and is much stable. Global ROMS are developed by nincompoops and they always introduce more bugs than fixes. I have seen this trend that in MIUI with each new update, your phone will become more slow and buggy.
3. Poco F1 is a great phone, I really liked it but because of so much bugs and company not saying anything about it nor fixing it and also, those bugs are present in other Xiaomi phones which is still not fixed till now motivated me to sell it and buy Nokia 7 Plus which is more expensive and less feature rich. Due to this attitude of Xiaomi I am not gonna buy Xioami phones atleast when they are newly launched. Also, never believe on reviewers, especially Indian, they are all bastards.
-->Best things about Xiaomi:
1. Best thing for price.
2. One of the best development support.
3. Best display and camera for price.
-->Worst thing about Xiaomi:
1. Bad developers
2. Bad and buggy software, they tend to release a new version before fixing all bugs in previous one;
i.They stopped development on MIUI9 and stopped support on many devices leaving half of their device in a bad shape.
ii.Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime that share the same specs only the latter has 2GB RAM, one has got VOLTE and other doesn't have it, while it can be easily turned on in the software because if you flash Prime's software in normal Redmi 2, VOLTE works, although it's not properly optimized for 1GB RAM phones.
I also used Honor 8 Pro as one of my personal device and I was too furious of no developer support but atleast they provide proper updates. I am using Nokia which also doesn't allows bootloader unlock. Btw, if you use VOLTE, custom ROMS won't support it or will take a long time for one with VOLTE to be available.

If you were to change...

Hi folks I just shattered the screen of my Redmi Note 3 SD version (RN3). I had this phone since early 2016 and though it's still working and I could prolly do a service job on it for $50 and extend its life to a year or so I feel sticking to this phone any further wouldn't be to my advantage.
So I'm in the market for a new phone and I would really love to hear your precious advise so I may get the best available option for my hard earned bucks.
My budget is around $350. I'm not a brand fan boi, I don't mind going for unknown brands if the build quality is there. B/C with a good build quality you can get the best out of your phone under XDA. So when I go for a smartphone the features I pay attention to are:
1-If the phone can handle recent games. If a phone can handle recent games odds are high that it will perform well in everyday life.
2-It must have a great community under XDA so that if the manufacturers aren't arsed to push updates, you can still get the best out of your phone by for e.g flashing a custom rom or the Google cam or flash the latest security patch and so on.
3-The camera specs should be good (not expecting pixel3 stuffs or p30 results), but should be able to take good shots when I go on road trips.
Having said that, phones that have caught my eye so far are the Huawei Y9(2019 version) and the Xiaomi Poco Phone F1. So what do you lads think!
The Huawei Y9 is out as per your stated requirements as they don't even allow bootloader unlocking. There might be unofficial methods. Poco F1 looks to be the best choice but I don't know if the initial issues like backlight bleeding, touch latency etc have been fixed. Redmi Note 7 Pro is another decent option but the price difference between its 6GB model and Poco F1 base variant is too little. Realme has opened up BL unlocking but the pace of development doesn't seem very encouraging. Otherwise the Realme 3 Pro appears to pack solid hardware. Dunno when the Poco F2 will be launched.

Wait for Mi A3 . not sure its launching date. it is android one device. Bootloader unlocking is very easy for android one phone.
Updates will given by google and not xiaomi. Also u will get 3 android updates. Spec will be same like rn7 pro.
Or buy rn7 pro. It has QC 4.0 charging and 4000mah battery.
From Kenzo, I used Tissot which is Mi A1 and now lavender which is Redmi Note 7.
Redmi Note 7 aka lavender as of now has very minimal development going on based on xda threads available. But the good thing is that it supports treble so gsi will provide you with a lot of custom rom and me myself is using a GSI now. Violet aka Note 7 Pro on the other hand has a better development than lavender. It has great camera too considering you are using gcam to full utilize the camera and also lavender's camera is Greta as well but not as good as violet. Lavender has Snapdragon 660 and violet has Snapdragon 675.

Redmi K20 and k20 Pro will launch 17th July 2019

I heard that India version will be code raphealin, as they have same hardware. Do you think china version (rapheal) and India version (raphealin) will have the universal ROM package? Otherwise, can we flash rapheal to raphealin? I bought a China version before, and I'm afraid of that.

I think it depends on which bands are unlocked on the phone. I don't know if India and China provider share the same bands? The mi9t has different bands unlocked then the k20.
I think that will be named as anticipated K20 Pro. but they were advertising as k20 pro so who knows. Im just sure that software development wise they'll share the same stuff
I'll wait for reviews from early adopters. I have never owned a Xiaomi device before and I am only inclined towards this because of its AMOLED panel. If the quality isn't as good as OnePlus panels or if the device has issues itself like people faced touch issues on Poco F1, I might skip it completely.

They do mostly, you can check their respective band compabilities at kimovil .dotcom
I recon there will be differences when the global version is released, but for China and India they seem to be the same.

I've found the info on Kimovil.com to be out of date, though to be fair most sites I've looked at, which provide lte band info, are out of date. It looks like once they've added the info, they never bother to update it when carriers open up more bands on their networks. I now check the info on Wikipedia, it's more work, especially on a phone, as you have to trawl through massive tables to find the data, but the info is normally up to date.

I was initially planning to. BUT it is not a pre order. That voucher does not guarantee you early or separate or priority access for buying. And in India it will be very difficult to even buy one once it goes up for sale. It will be out of stock within seconds, thats the problem. And this Alpha sale, will only block your money in a online seller Flipkart or Mi.in . That is useless. I was atleast hoping for a separate access for those who make the payment now.

I don't think that's the case. AFAIK only people with Alpha Sale pass will be able to order a unit on the launch date 17 and 18 and all the others can do so post 23rd onwards. If this is the case everyone with the alpha pass should be able to secure a unit without any flash sale.
Let's see and wait for the launch on the 17th, I'll share my experience if I am able to get my hands on the pro

It got released at 28k was expecting it to be 25k. Overpriced. Hadd good expectation from this phone but ... it is better to go for One Plus 7 that has no bloatware, good UI, fast android update and no ADs
Are the adds really that annoying ?

Yes it is too annoying. I bought a Redmi note 7 recently, i feel i have no control over my phone. MIUI is a s**+. This is my first time using a MIUI. You have can't even debloat your phone, unless you root it/install TWRP in it. You have to disable ads everywhere in each app individually, but still ads pop up. I faced problem of even changing default browser, music ,video player etc... Its messed up. You better stay on pure android UI device (like that of one plus/android one phones), that will make your life peaceful. I need to switch to google pixel rom in my phone.

It got released at 28k was expecting it to be 25k. Overpriced. Hadd good expectation from this phone but ... it is better to go for One Plus 7 that has no bloatware, good UI, fast android update and no ADs

Why do you feel its overprices? I agree that K20 is overprices but I feel the K20 Pro prices are fine for the features they are offering. But I am curious to know why people think K20 Pro base variant is overprices? Just because it has MIUI or the Redmi brand has an image of being cheap and people can't digest a higher price from this brand?
And i agree, ADs should die on MIUI. It's ridiculous now.

Agree with you. I was more hopeful after Pcoc F1, redmi would be targeting the mid tier .. And price aggressively like 24-25k for K20 pro and 19-20k for K20. Its only that expectation that made most of us think that it is overpriced
I booked K20 128gb 6gb varient will be getting on. 23rd

Samsung just released A80 with Snappy730G and the price is an eye-watering INR 48K. That's ridiculous.
I am sure Poco F2 won't come this year. If it does, it'd be with a 730G or 730 chipset. No way Xiaomi is releasing a competitor to K20 Pro from one of their own sub-brands.

If anyone has an Indian K20 Pro unit, I would appreciate if you can post your initial impressions and IF this still comes with Xiaomi ads.

Question 12S in EU ??

Do we have any info is this device coming to Europe ?? Or where to buy in china ?
tx
I don't think it's will come to eu (read that meny time on internet)
I bought mine on TradingShenzhen
Delivered less than 2 weeks
700€ ?? Well, that is close to asus zenfone 9. Hard to choose
I also bought mine at TradingShenzhen. Took just under 2 weeks to arrive.
How's the experience on Xiaomi 12S? I'm planning to get one too.
Issue I found so far with the Chinese ROM
1. Android auto - communication error 22, previously worked with my old phone ( thinking to flash to xiaomi eu rom)
2. Android home - casting to Chromecast, tried once didn't work
3. Whatsapps - choppy video when sharing with others. I think that's a Whatsapp issue
Otherwise it's been very good

According to some information, 12s series are only available in China, because the Leica authorization is currently only open for Chinese. Leijun says that the next generation of flagship will enter the global market.
Maybe you can try to buy it on Taobao (a Chinese online shopping platform), some of the shops support overseas delivery.

If you're not like Chinese and plan on using this phone as a daily driver than you are probably out of luck as this phone does not sell out of China. Even if you managed to get hold of it warranty and other benefits would not work outside of China.
If you are like me who simply wants to try out Chinese hardware and flash Custom roms than I suggest you wait a bit for devs who manage to get their hands on this device or when Xiaomi releases enough code for custom rom developers for them to churn out a good aosp-like rom.
Of course there is still the issue of this device being Chinese-only so non-Chinese custom rom devs would not pay much attention to this device.
The latest device that supports a mainstream AOSP custom rom (I regard LineageOS and pixelexperience as mainstream) is the Mi11, and that has been out for two years now.
You of course can choose to use the stock Chinese rom, With all the Mi bloatware and ads, other Chinese bloatware, Play services bugs, and you would have to sideload the Play Store.
With the money you are paying for this phone (and the added shipping fee to ship outside China) along with the fact that warranty (or even general) support is only in China (which means if you run into issues with your phone you would have to send it back in China to fix the issues) I suggest you look for a different phone that is officially sold and supported in your region.
