Hello. I've tried to flash custom kernel and rom. I've faced some problems and decided to try again. I did wipe in TWRP (Dalvik, system, Data, cache). And later, when i tried to flash a rom it said that there are no enough free space. I've checked it in backup menu and it says that there are about 230MB on Internal Storage. Then i tried to do a complete wipe (like before but including Internal Storage). And now it says that there is 245MB of free space. Is there any ideas how i can fix it? Thanks.

Fixed it by installing stock recovery, then did a factory reset there and then everything became okay

I have got a samsung GS3 which i would like to flash a custom ROM on.
The phone is rooted and i have done
Get into the CWM recovery
Wipe Data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik-Cache
Wipe Battery Stats
Wipe Data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik-Cache
Wipe Battery Stats
Install the wipe version of this ROM
The problem is that even after all of that formating and deletings there are still some old files on the phone like airdroid, total recall,....
Can someone explain please how to get rid of that?
Is there a way to flash a ROM from the external card and if not where do i need to put it in internal storage?
TIA
You won't get rid of all files on the internal memory. The wipe process does wipe the memory clean but the phne uses the internal for its own storage and sets it up respectively.
You may have a few extra files added if you flash a stock rom as it too may add a few system files....
To check, go to system>storage. You should have around 12Gb of storage if you own a 16Gb phone or about 28/29Gb if its a 32Gb phone...
thanks for that. Maybe got an idea how to flash from external sd card or where to put the zip file on internal memory?
You can flash Roms using Mobile Odin which claims to be S3 compatible but I never tried, and anyway i'd stick to flashing from Pc because it's a lot more reliable.
Hello everyone,
I have been having major issues with my phone as of late and havent had the time to address them. Until I absolutely had to today.
Recently my phone has been intermittently force closing every open app (including sys apps) until a reboot stops the process.
Today my phone rebooted into a boot-loop and I have been trying to gain access to photos on my internal memory for most of the day.
I have access to CWM and download mode.
I have tried mounting the usb in CWM to no avail. "unable to open ums lunfile" error.
I have tried reflashing the current ROM I am using (AOKP)
I have tried accessing the files and transfering them to my microSD using Aroma file manager but it can't seem to access my internal storage.
Can anyone suggest a way to access the photos on my internal storage so I can back them up to either my computer or my microSD?
After that I am fine wiping it and starting all over.
Thanks!
When you do a full wipe, basically Wipe data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik cache, only the rom will be deleted. Your internal (and external) memory won't be touched, so you won't loose your photo's, music or anything like that. Just flash a new rom after the wipe.
However, if you haven't backed up anything with Titanium Backup, you will loose your apps, but I think your files are more important than apps are

Thank you for the quick advice! I ended up trusting it and wiping from recovery. Photos stayed intact and I backed them up and proceeded to wipe.

I have this doubt for long time? wiping internal storage ie 2.2 GB in moto e ( total 4 GB ) cause any problem when installing custom ROM?
when I reset last time I found nearly 200mb space went missing out of 2.2 GB, that's why I am asking?
Do not wipe internal storage unless you have a complete ROM ready with you in your internal or external memory for you to flash. Wiping internal storage wipes the entire 4GB emmc which means you are wiping off all partitions including bootloader. If you accidentally reboot after wiping internal storage, your phone will never switch on. So be careful, only wipe system, cache, data and dalvik, nothing else.
ok i accidentally wiped off my internal storage as well. now i am not able to install roms .. what to do?

No worries mate. Just copy your ROM into a external MC, insert it and boot your device into recovery and install the room

I wipe everything except External Memory card to install ROMs, and I delete all those left over folders in external via PC.

Did you tried wiping everything again? Maybe problem with the download?
Btw MD5 not found isn't anything to worry about. Its just a hash check and can be skipped.
I recommend trying a different ROM like AICP.
installed successfully !! there was an error in downloaded zip re-downloading the file fixed the issue.. !

restore a backup of a previously working rom via twrp and then follow my tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzIpWUYS8ho
So, i recently installed and uninstalled a few custom roms on my lenovo k4 note running android 6.0.
After i accidently installed a new rom without wiping the dalvik and cache of the previous one , my internal storage has suddenly become full . My phone has 16 GB internal storage and before installing the rom i had around 6 GB free whereas after the installation , i have literally less than a 100 MB left and i cannot install anything . I wiped the internal storage completely and it's showing there are no files on my internal storage but it's still full. Can someone please help me to fix this problem??
Hey there! Try to reinstall your stock ROM with one PC

System is where the OS is installed, Cache is a different partition as well as internal storage. So not wiping Dalvik/cache & Cache should not affect internal storage.
Check these TWRP FAQ pages:
https://twrp.me/faq/whattowipe.html
https://twrp.me/faq/datamedia.html <<< especially the part about Format Data.
In TWRP we also have a wipe internal storage option that rm -rf's the media folder and a "Format Data" option that formats to recreate the entire file system in case something goes completely wrong or to remove device encryption.

Can't you connect to a computer while in Recovery & delete some files in internal storage?
What is your recovery's name & version exactly?
And @IsaqueLNC is right: if everything else fails install the stock firmware & you may get lucky.
